DO NOT BUY IT. This is the worst quality product I've ever bought. It goes back to the shop Monday for another radio repair.Since owning it Aug.2003, we've had THREE radios and now looks like on to no.4. Wiper motor replaced due to corrosion, same with rear wiper . Engine racing upon start up , a pinging sound from mid under body upon transmission shifting, front suspension problems, weather seal problems, auto door lock settings have mind of their own, heater controls malfunctioning and replaced. Also, the car occasionally stalls for no apparent reason. The brake system is awful, very spongy, feels like your trying to stop a 747 on a short runway!!! All this with only 28000 miles. Wee oh! Can hardly wait for the next 20000!

Strength:

It is only in the shop 1 out of every 5 days.

Weakness:

Repeat problems with just about everything except the cigarette lighter.

I wrote a review about one month ago and am very pleased to report I traded in the TrailBlazer for another make of SUV. What I bought is not important since quite honestly any SUV has a chance at being more reliable than the TrailBlazer. I lost a great deal of money on the trade but I simply couldn't take the repeated problems any longer. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. Car and Driver gave the TrailBlazer their lowest marks in their review (http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=17&article_id=7376). As for individual reviews, read the reviews of others and you will quickly see a patern of repeat problems and failures that will cost you time and money.

The looks.

Weakness:

You name it... it is a weakness.

This is the worst vehicle I have owned. I have had it in the shop so many times I have lost count. The 4 Wheel Drive has shifted in and out for about 50 miles until I could get to a town. They fixed it and now it is out of warranty and has started again. The air conditioner and heater has had many problems and still does. The auto windows have gone out. Recalls and now a letter stating that my engine block could crack but they are not recalling it but say they will fix it. What like everything else they supposedly fixed? I will be dumping this vehicle at a loss and will never see a Chevy again!! Very noisy on the highway and leaks air constantly.

Strength:

Looks, size

Weakness:

Electronic nightmare.

I loved the looks but hated the quality. I had always owned Ford or Honda products. This time I liked the looks of the Chevy and the concept of the vehicle. However, in 12 months it has been in the shop 13 times for electrical and engine problems. The injectors were replaced twice but still missed after driving on them less than 100 miles. The a/c was replaced due to compressor failure, the window modules failed and as a result the entire right side of the vehicl was paralyzed (i.e. no lights, mirrors, or locks). The taillights melted due to faulty connections in the bulb sockets, the instrument cluster was replaced three times, the radio had a mind of its own including resetting itself at random times. All the while, the service department at Pemberton was telling there was no problem. However, one of their mechanics told me off the record to ditch the vehicle because they were having so many problems. The owner/general manager tried to get GM to buy it back but they just wanted to keep repairing the thing. Finally, I took it in, had it repaired, and traded it on a different brand of vehicle. The trade in for a $32,000 list vehicle...a measley $20,000. Luckily, I bought it on a company discount so I didn't lose much. I really had high hopes but the foreign made electronics dashed them quickly. I still think it is one of the best looking vehicles on the road however.

Strength:

Just the right size - not too big, not too small. Looks good. Nice dash features. Nice rear controls for heat & radio. Adult passengers have told me the rear seats are roomy and comfortable.

Weakness:

Multiple quality problems with electrical system.

Love the styling, however my 1993 Toyota Corolla with 186,000 miles on it is more reliable today than my new 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. The TB has been in the shop 7 times in 11 months mostly for electrical problems. The A/C has failed, the 4WD has failed multiple times. The car has a very annoying frequency vibration at 55 mph they can't seem to fix. Control modules turned themselves on when the car was off and drained the battery leaving the car dead. The passenger door went out of alignment. Wish I had found more honest reviews before purchasing this vehicle.

It's sad to read all the bad reports on this truck. This truck for us (wife and myself) has been wonderful. I have owned several new cars over my 30 years of driving from GM,Ford,Toyota,Nissan and we have yet to enjoy a automobile as much as we have our Trailblazer. When we set out to buy a SUV we tried them all (and I mean all) and chose the Trailblazer based on all round ride, performance and value. To date have only taken the truck in for oil changes which at that time was made aware of recalls which were fixed at the same time. People if you think in today world that car companys don't have recalls stay away all together from new because they do. Sorry to hear about all the unhappy customers but I hope they gradually work out thier problems... WE LOVE OURS...

Strength:

Quiet, good power, respectable ride.

Weakness:

Extremely poor reliability. Multiple and repeat electrical, accessory and drive train problems.

Quite honestly the worst automobile I have ever owned. Numerous repeat problems. Wiper problems, four wheel drive problems, seat heaters burned out twice, tail lights burn out due to electrical problems, power steering pump failed as well as other problems. I have not read a single positive review in a car/auto magazine to date. I wish the reviews had been available when I purchased the vehicle. I am presently working with GM on their re-purchase program. I would highly recommend not purchasing this SUV. Hopefully by posting this I can help others from making the same mistake.

I'm sending in this review for someone else that can't post a review. If you want to know about this vehicle look at four wheelers or petersons four wheel and offroads test against 8-9 other midsize suvs. This thing came in last, enough said.It still can't compete with the nissan pathfinders and toyota fourrunners. He has had this vehicle in the shop 7 times in 10 monthes for electrical problems, rearend noise, vibrations, and still has recurring problems.

Strength:

Smoothness and power

Weakness:

Gas mileage; however, it is what was advertised

So far it has been a great vehicle but after reading some of these reviews I have been looking for little things. The power is great and the ride is smooth. The Trailblazer is a little bigger than my old Grand Cherokee. The vision range to the rear does seem to be slightly narrower but that is just a perception at this point. As far as the computerized functions, I would like to see the number of gallons left in the tank in addition to the "range" left. I reserve giving it the highest rating until I've owned it at least 6 months to a year. Most new vehicles are very good when first bought.
