Rides nice. Love the looks.

Piece of crap!!

Just watched my Trailblazer go out my driveway on a tow truck!! Just came back from dlr 3 days prior. This will be the 10th time in for same problem. I have had the vehicle less than 6 months. They just replaced transmission (21,000 miles). Numerous problems with RPM up to 3500 and will not shift. Have had numerous electrical problems. Cruise quits workings. Check engine light on. Lunging when excelerating. Torque convertor censor replaced twice. No A/C problems yet, but can hardly wait. No tail light problems yet. Dealer cannot seem to fix. Have filed intent under lemon law, but probably won't get far there! Ready to dump vehicle. Going to contact National Highway Safety Commission. Ready to buy foreign built car!

Needs more ground clearance for off-roading.

This is a great car. The interior is very, very comfortable with a lot of useful "gadgets". Rides incredibly smooth and the engine has loads of power. Gas mileage is as advertised.

Love the looks, power and handling. It's a shame its really a nice vehicle when its running well.

Weakness:

Too many quality issues. see above or look at all of the 100+ technical service bulletins.

Early production july 2001 vehicle. This thing is falling apart by the day. Current mileage is only 60,000. I have had every problem happen to me. Most of the problems have been adressed by recalls: Burned out tailights (I change them myself once every couple of weeks), guages going blank, paint peeling from tailgate plate holder etc... Major problems: Engine will soon need replaced getting 9 mpg. This is due to the piston problem on the early 4.2 engines. Power steeering is going as well. Will not turn stopped. Rack is gone. Piece of shi*!!!!!!!!! I'm glad I didn't pay for this (company vehicle) I had beater that ran better!

Love the design and power. Great ride. Love this truck!

Weakness:

a/c and molding

My mother and I both this truck at the same time. She has not had one problem in 8 months. I however, have an appt. to take mine in tomorrow for the second time for the a/c going out. The regulator switch I think. And molding around the back hatch. Those are the only problems so far, but when its 96 in Houston and you have no air, its pretty frustrating. I came from a tiny car, and this truck is amazing. I just hope they get the kinks worked out or based on all the other reviews, I will be getting rid of this truck at the end of my loan.

Strength:

Great looks, roomy interior, large cargo area, off-road capabilities, powerful engine.

Weakness:

In addition to the malfunction with windshield wipers, accessories are way too expensive, seats should be more comfortable for a better ride, average fuel efficiency (but hey, it's an SUV).

I've had this car for 4 years and so far I haven't had a major problem with it. I could say I am pretty much happy with it. The engine (v6)works just fine and the paint is pretty much intact (except for a few minute chips due to flying rocks in hwy rides), of course, I keep up with the recommended scheduled maintenance and exterior body care. The interior is roomy enough for a family of four and the cargo space is more than acceptable. Nevertheless, I have to admit it, I am scared after reading all these reviews about some SERIOUS mechanical and electrical problems with this SUV, especially, after the windshield wipers in my car quit working in intermitent, and for the past 3 weeks I have noticed, in a few ocassions, a very light pop sound (similar to that when you pop your knuckles)when I turn the steering wheel (If anybody has noticed the same problem, please let me know). In summary, this has been a good car to me, at least for now.

The people that run GM.

This car is horrible! Would definitely not recommend this car to anyone! The A/C has been out frequently and the check engine light keeps coming on and stays on. The dealer says that it could mean 122 different things. Thats good to know!!!The car has been in for service 6 times in 10 months!! The dealer in one of my many conversations informs me that they only take the cars from GM on consignment and that all product liability falls back on GM. So much for customer service!

I really love the appearance of this vehicle and it fits the 4 of us and all our stuff with no problem, i also love the horse power and the comfort of the seats, very east to drive.

Weakness:

this vehicle has too many weaknesses,we are very sorry we ever bought this one, i drive my two kids around in this and am scared something might go wrong, this shouldnt happen at 20000 mi, but the problems started just a month or so after we purchased it. dont buy this hopefully they will recall this one for good.

My husband and i were in the market for an suv and thought that the trailblazer was the most attractive and roomiest. on the downside we have had numerous electrical problems and tail lights going out every 3 months we have had 2 recalls and the windshiels wipers stopped working had to have the motor replaced. Also the stop to acceleration sucks it feels like it is going to die at times, the back hatch only locks sometimes and just yesterday the interior lights would not turn off had to drive with them on. There is alot of wind noise and the radio reception is for the birds.

Strength:

Great mid-range power, comfortable ride. Great trailering ability. Seemed better when test driving.Roomy.

Weakness:

Interior needs major facelift.(GMC version seems to have it a little better.) Low end hesitation. Transmission slippage at gear reversal causing lurch. Radio sounds terrible with most music types. Seat height (drivers seat)Whining noise from somewhere in engine compartment?

I just purchased my Trailblazer in late July '03. My wife and I bought it because of the industry leading horsepower and supposed gas mileage. We also liked the styling and confort. We were between buying the Trailblazer and Nissan Pathfinder. In hindsight, I should have bought the Pathfinder. I am only 1,200 miles into this vehicle and am experiencing some problems. I am a tad over 6' tall and having trouble seeing at stoplights. They need to engineer the seats better for taller drivers. I do have enough leg room. I am also experiencing hesitation from stop to start, especially when going from reverse to forward. It seems to rev up and the transmission slips. The Trailblazer also makes a strange whining noise when accelerating and decelerating. My 4x4 service light has also lit up on the dash. Wish me luck though, I am bringing it to the dealer for the first time. I hope they can resolve these issues seeing since the vehicle has been around long enough to get the bugs out.
