LAST CHEVY I WILL EVER BUY!!! What a piece of crap this car is. Horrible Warranty 3 yr 33,000miles. The fan clutch just went out on my car and had to get it replaced for $850. I checked online and saw that quite a few people had the same problem with their 02, 03 Trailblazers and Chevy wouldn't do anything about it or put out a recall. Had a recall on the windshield wipers, took it in and got it fixed. A year later the wipers failed again. Took it back into the dealer and told them it had to do with the same recall but because my warranty had expired they wouldn't fix it even though it was the same problem that came with the recall the year prior. They wanted to charge me $350 to fix them. Cheap interior. The paint chips off of the car stereo, got it replaced and after about a year the paint started chipping of the nobs on the stereo again, wouldn't replace it. Center storage compartment broke, the cheap plastic notch that holds it shut broke and now won't stay closed. I have to drive with my forearm on it so that it won't pop up during driving or anytime I hit a bump. The left tail light keeps going out, I have replaced it 4 times, something to do with the fuse. Horrible gas mileage, I now get about 13 mpg in the city and 19 mpg if I'm lucky on the highway.

I always wanted to own a Chevy truck or SUV but after owning this piece of crap never again. My friend who is from Detroit tried to talk me out of it because he said the quality put into American made cars was poor. Now I see why. And now that I think about it the first car I ever owned was a 89 Cutlass Supreme and I had a LOT of problems with that car too. Paint chipped off the body, cheap interior, all sorts of engine problems. I now have no faith in GM quality products. No wonder GM, Chevy, Ford and Dodge are all seeing a decrease in sales and are being beat out by foreign competitors.

I love it! I bought tis one new and loved it so much that I bought an 07 Trailblazer SS for my wife. The I6 has plenty of power and the SS with a 6.0 V8 is unreal. Mine is 4x4 and will go almost anywhere. It has plenty of room and I love the Onstar and other features that are on it. I drive almost 1500 miles a week for work and it has all of the room that I need at 6 feet 5 inches. I would buy this SUV again and again!

Strength:

good HP

someone else’s problem now

Weakness:

Power with AC on,
Wiring, electrical, CD player stopped working at 70K replaced it with aftermarket
Fit and finish; vehicles plastic door ratted all the time,
Dealership service, I could write a review on just that experience
Transmission, failure at 65K please!!
Driver door power lock would engage on it’s own
Leaky firewall gasket, nothing like having 1” of water on your floor
and ever second month replacing a head light or break light, i'am a pro at this now

First I will make this statement: is the worst piece of crap ever made!!! Traded in a 01 Toyota 4runner because was staring to get up in Miles but no major reliability problems; what a mistake that was. Need the Trailbalzer to tow boat and camping trailer, but first time out towing got pulled over because trailer lights would not come on, trust me they worked in the driveway. Police officer was nice and followed me to a service station to make repairs. Thought wiring problem was with trailer after 2 hours trying to get the lights working called friend to get help, he came hooked the trailer to his Pathfinder and all light worked on trailer? We then hooked it back to Trailbalzer and realized that none of my light worked anymore at all. Cost me 600$ for electrical repairs then 3 months later transmission started to clunk, 3,000$ for new transmission at only 65K, had over 200K on 4runner no problems friends Pathfinder has 180k no problems. I am done with American cars trucks, had a Camaro back in University loved the car, been driving Asian and European cars for last 15 years and now I remember why. Traded in Trailbalzer for big loss but now own Pilot and love this vehicle. Lesson in life if something has been good to you for 15 years don’t roll the dice on something that is poorly rated in all the magazines

Also I hear people complaining about

fuel economy in this vehicle, get over it it’s a truck if you want good fuel economy I’m sure the Smart and Mini are great at that but try to pull a 18 Ft boot with either vehicle. But to be honest the Pilot is getting about 50 Mils extra for the same amount of gas

Strength:

Very low mainentance, amazing turning radius, great ride...

Weakness:

Maybe the gas mileage (not the best).

I have had my trailblazer for four years now, and it is by far the most reliable car I've ever owned! It has taken an intense beating over the past couple years and the only thing that I have had to fix was one tail light and I had to replace the transmission fluid one time(At 68,000 miles). It has been amazing, and if you have never driven one, try it! The turning radius and ride in general are incredible! I've driven/owned other SUV's and for the money this is the best. Reliable, comfortable, and VERY roomy.

Never.... ever.... would i purchase one of these money pit machines again. GM is having a pretty bad time building "anything" that doesn't shake, rattle, and clunk. I cross my fingers everytime i put the key in the ignition. It seems like i take my truck in for repairs more than it is in my driveway. Pleas take this advise. If your still considering buying one, make sure you keep extra cash on hand for repairs..... you'll need it!!

I have a 2007 TB with 4000 miles on it. So far I'm loving it. I enjoy driving it and it offers such a nice ride. In about a month I am going to take it to New York to visit some family. Have had no problems with it (knock on wood) and it has been so much fun to drive. Does awesome in the snow and feel safe in it when driving it in the snow. By now I am sure they have fixed a lot of the problems that people have been having with it. My nephew loves riding in my TB and I have no problem driving him around in it. Feel safe in it and I know if need be it will protect him.

Strength:

Powerful engine (V6), lots of space, GREAT, HIGH QUALITY TRUCK!!

Weakness:

The rear air takes almost ten minutes to warm up, compared to less than 45 seconds in the front.

I read many reviews on the trailblazer and many of them were just saying to stay away from this truck. They are definitely wrong. This is the most reliable truck I have ever owned. Only had one minor cracked cup holder repair in the past 50,000 miles. Gas usage is poor, since I have the extended model, but power and the 4x4 is great. I just drove it through 3 feet of wet snow up a 35 degree incline with no problem. The engine is quiet, and the heat is great. Definitely the perfect family truck for every season!!!

Strength:

V8 power, roomy, versatile, comfort & smooth ride

Weakness:

Inconsistent a/c, handling & maneuverability

Now at 50k, just replaced OEM Conti's w/ GY Forteras- big improvement. Minor probs fixed by local dlr except a/c still inconsistent & 1-2 upshift sometimes harsh. GM seems to have fixed most probs starting in 2004. V8 better choice for EXT models- more power, same mileage! LWB provides amazing room & vesatility but sacrifices handling & maneuverability.
