Strength:

Seats easily removable, sleak look, great on gas.

Weakness:

gas lines froze with 3/4 tank of gas, engine slips in the cold weather, very low front end scraps on a lot of driveways.

It's a nice looking vehicle. Smooth ride. All in all it's a nice vehicle for a family, especially for vacations. The back seat comes out and the front passanger seat folds down for extra space.

Looks sharp...Washes up like new(Shiney)...Rides beautifully

Weakness:

Just checked my gas mileage and found out I was getting 20 mpg with mostly freeway driving. I drive 75-80 mph. Noticed rattling noises inside the driving area and was going nuts on where it was coming from. Although very light rattling it was still bothersome. Stereo sucks!! Needs to be replaced with a better system. Car tends to bottom out on steep driveway entrances and exits. Car is a bit slow on hills. You feel a bit cramped in the front seat if there is a passenger seated next to you. U-turns are a chore sometimes(You'll get use to it and adjust). interior sound rattling, like something came loose.

We bought the automatic instead of the painful stick in Los Angeles traffic. The car had 14,400 miles on it from a rental company that chrysler bought back from. I Started driving and noticed the smoothness in driving and shocks were stupendous! Reached to turn on the stereo and was deeply disappointed in the sound quality. You almost have to turn the volume to 20 to hear a good bass pounding sound. Very good money for such a good looking car. Oil and brakes are still holding up well after 2,000 miles of driving on it since we bought it. Gas mileage is around 20 mpg(A tad disappointing)

GAS MILAGE ABOUT 20 IN TOWN.
EASY TO DRIVE, LOOKS GOOD.

Weakness:

HORRIBLE BRAKES

I LOVE THE CAR. ITS EASY TO DRIVE AND LOOKS GOOD. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN NOV 05. IT STILL HAD FACTORY WARRANTY ON IT. ITS THE BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR RUNNING HOT, CUTTING OUT AT AROUND 55 MPH, SOMETHING UNDER THE FRONT END, AND THE BRAKES ON THE BACK REAR SOUNDS LIKE METAL SCRUBBING METAL. ITS BEEN A THE SHOP FOR THAT 6 TIMES. THEY REPLACED PAD AND THE DRUMS. STILL DID NOT FIX IT. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE NATURE OF THE PT TO HAVE THAT PROBLEM BECAUSE IT SITS HIGHER IN THE BACK. THATS BULL CRAP. TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALER TODAY, AT THE SUGGESTION OF CHRYSLER. THEY COULDNT FIND ANYTHING WRONG EITHER. THE ONLY THING HE DID TELL ME WAS THAT IF BRAKE DUST OR DIRT GETS ON THE DRUMS THAT YOU CAN DRIVE IN REVERSE WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON A LITTLE BIT AND IT WILL CLEAN OFF THE DRUMS. IT WORKED, BUT HOW LONG WILL IT LAST. WHO KNOWS. THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY IS ALMOST OVER. I BET WHEN ITS NO LONGER COVERED THEY WILL FIND OUT WHATS WRONG WITH IT.

Strength:

Great funtionality. Think of a Volkswagon with pep, room, and storage. It is built very well with no squeaks. I liked it so well that we bought a Pacifica for my wife. (another great car.)

Weakness:

Blind spots on the side. Certainly not as bad as a truck though.

I bought my Cruiser when it was new and I now have 54,000 miles on it. The only repairs I needed was two windshield wipers.
I made a mistake in buying Dual pipes for it. They have a beautiful rumble to them, but the car sounds like an Austin Healy. Should have left the original configuration.
I bought the 5 speed because I had read of the poor mileage. I get a steady 23 mpg and 26 mpg on trips.
Room is amazing for a car. I stuffed an office chair into the back by putting the rear seats down. I also hauled a Grand Father clock in it by dropping the right front seat down.
This would be a great panel truck for a business. Take the rear seats out and you would have tons fo room.
I had both Knees replaced and a weel later was driving it with comfort.
I paid extra for the red inferno paint job and it is beautiful after six years. Everyone asks what type of polish I use. (I don't).
Breaks are ready to be replaced and I'll soon need two tires. Sorry to hear of others having problems.

My parents bought me this car because I would be heading off to grad school and I needed something more reliable than what I'd had. When we got the car we were told that it had ample cargo space and 30mpg and would be good for the travel. It has cargo space, and the ability to flip the seats up or down is nifty but really, I had about as much cargo room in my 93 Ford Tempo. I would say that the gas milage is decent... and I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I get about 25mpg (which is an average of both highway and city miles) and I find that to be satisfactory in comparrison to past vehicles. I would have to say this vehicle has been good about repairs. I've had it for a year and I've only had one problem with it... granted it was a biggy. Four months after we got it, the transmission died but under the extended warranty through chysler they replaced it and I only had to pay the towing charges. I haven't had any problems since in way of repairs. The problems I have had though are as follows: This vehicle is scared of snow. If there is a snow flake on the ground this car will find it and spin its tires until you run out of gas or turn it off. You aren't going anywhere, believe me, you might as well surrender now til spring. Also the blind spots are terrible. I have trouble seeing people on crosswalks until they're right in front of me and when I back up I look into the sky instead of behind me because the back window is odd. The back window power controls are in the weirdest spot... cant find them? They're at your feet. I constantly bottom out driving into my drive way because its on a hill. The front flap is too low and scrapes on everything. I'm not really big on power but I would have to say that the PT could use a bit more umph when it comes to hills and exceleration. Its been a decent vehilce though and besides a few minor issues its fine.

Strength:

Ease of entry/exit, room and comfort, flexible cargo capacity, snazzy looks, and (so far) drop dead dependable. Very short length, so it's easy to park in tight spaces. Body is solid and has a bank vault feel to it.

Weakness:

Gas mileage is mediocre in town (18-20 mpg). Chin is too low--high centers in the least bit of snow, scrapes on driveway aprons, parking curbs, etc. (the rubber dam, that is). Rear window switches are in a DUMB spot--I hope they fixed that on the newer PTs. Mind-numbing drumming sound with front windows down unless back windows are cracked open about an inch. Stock tires and brake pads didn't last all that long. Turning radius is rather wide. 'Twould be nifty if those back wing windows opened, too.

A roomy, comfortable, snazzy-looking, UTTERLY dependable car. Bought it new and it hasn't needed any repairs in five years. Not one. Both Spouse and I have elderly parents who appreciate the ease of entry/exit what with the big doors, low floor, high ceiling, and chair-height seats. Cargo area is small but can be expanded to positively cavernous as the need arises. One thing, though: this car should not be categorized as a minivan. It's a four-door hatchback. The Mopar folks call it a van so they can average its four cylinder gas mileage into their truck fleet. Face it, guys, it's just a car. But if something awful happened to this one I'd buy another in a heartbeat. It's the best passenger car we've yet owned. And the prices have come down to the point that it's the best bargain for the money available, too. Even the most basic Cruiser is quite a good car and still has quite a few goodies on it, so don't hesitate to buy a base model advertised at a loss leader price--you'll still love it.

Looks, roominess, storage capability, easy access and egress, folding front passenger seat for storage of long items, seat configurations

Weakness:

torque steer with turbo model, high tire wear on fronts with turbo, no available steering wheel controls

This our 2nd PT. Originally had an '01 PT but jumped to the turbo when it became available. Great fun with only service being gas and oil on both vehicles. Excellent dealer service on any warrantee items. We just drove our '03 PT to our Phoenix place and we are purchasing a PT GT Convertible for home... guess we must like this car.

the look, the fact that crysler is trying to market the car to a younger crowd and doing horribly at it,this is really a 50 year old house wive's car

I made the unfortuante mistake of letting my friend borrow my old truck, and he then totaled it, so my parents decided that the benefits of having me do all of the running about and getting stuff out-weighed the costs of a new car, so the bought a PT LOSER. I absolutley HATE this thing, I honostly reminds me of my mom's old minivan. This is essentially a smaller minivan with the same engine, so when you're driving, you'll go fast, but it's not because you've got a beast of a V8 in there, you've got a 2.4 liter engine. I got into some big trouble when i told my Dad whom bought the PT loser, that "i appreciate you guys buying me a new car, but i honostly don't like the crusier" To me, (being an 18 year old college student) this is kind of a dumb looking minivan, and I woudlv'e taken anything else than a PT cruiser, even something made in Japan.
