Ford Bronco (1996 and older) SUV | Crossover

DESCRIPTION

The Ford Bronco is a sport utility vehicle that was produced from 1966 to 1996, with five distinct generations. The original Bronco was an ORV (Off-Road Vehicle), intended to compete primarily with Jeep CJ models and the International Harvester Scout. The redesign of the second generation Bronco in 1978 was based on a shortened full sized F-100 pickup. It had a removable top and forward folding rear bench seat, similar to the competing Blazer.

(1980 - 1986) The Ford Bronco received a major redesign for 1980, coinciding with the F-Series pick-up truck. The new Bronco was shorter, and had cosmetic changes along with powertrain, suspension and other odds and ends.

(1992 - 1996) The Ford Bronco, along with the F-Series truck, was updated for 1992. The new Bronco was redesigned with safety in mind, incorporating front crumple zones, rear shoulder seat belts, a third brakelight embedded in the removable top, and after 1994, driver-side airbags.

Strength:

V6 4x4 enough room for my camping gear and then some. Good clearence.

Weakness:

This truck is an 84 so a few gliches here and there.

i live in an area with lots of mountains so i figured a bronco would do the job. The 4x4 option in this small truck work well in tight places ,and not to mention its fun to drive.

changing the oil and feeding it and thats about all the maintenence it needs. it's a ford. the fact that it can make a u-turn in a 3 lane road w/out reversing. it's a ford. the powerful 300 hp 351 engine. it's a ford.

Weakness:

lets see only 2 that i can think of. 1 gas, gas, gas. 12 mpg. and 2. Ford stopped making it.

I have owned this bronco since 1996 and i have put it through hell. it still has the original motor. a 351 W. it has about 125,000 miles. i put headers a K&N filter and intake and custom gibson exhaust. It has about 300 horses. i can take out to the dunes for a weekend in the sand or i can take it out to the mud pits and pull out toyotas and all those trucks that aren't fords. on the road it can tow my 30 ft sea ray cabin cruiser with out a problem at all. i haven't towed much else with it. i love the way it looks with the top off. i have had millions of compliments on the way it looks all around.

Turning, hill climbing, speed, power, looks, it has everything

Weakness:

gas, wow that 351 M sure does like the gas, still thoughn the power( worth every bit)

nothing beats this thing, you can go anywhere. It's big, fast and tough as hell. plus it's great with the top off on a hot summer day, perfect lake vehicle. they should really make them again,I'd buy one.

Strength:

the tough 300 hp motor. I like the leather in this truck. surprisingly it doesn't get too hot in the sun. A lot of people have commented on the looks. i like the fact that on the free way at 75 i'm runnin 2500 rpm's. last one is IT'S A FORD.

Weakness:

gas. 12 mpg blind spot is a little bigger than would like.

I have been driving this truck for a couple of years now. It has about 120000 miles. I have to say it's the toughest mother i've ever driven. It can make lake trips or mud bogging events (i won 4 of those with it) put 6 inches under it, 35 in. SS boggers under a 351 and it will destroy anything you put in it's way. I stil haven't taken the top off it yet but i will shortly. only problem i've had since i got it was the fuel filter.

Can go anywhere, i mean anywhere. alot of torque for adventures in the mountains.

Weakness:

only one being gas mileage. I get about 12 mpg.

92 Fullsize bronco w/ a V8 351 Windsor. 215 hp 315lbs of tq. easy to drive, its a little different at first, but you get use to it. Captain chairs are comfy, storage units galore. Back seat comes out, provides sleeping room for 3 fullsize adults when camping. +the top comes off in a jiffy. There is nothing better than having the top off. 105,000 miles on her and only problem i've noticed is a had starter.

Strength:

Great fun off-road. Incredible strength. Looks. Space. Gadgets (compass, temp reading, 4x4). height. You can add so many extra features. They keep a good resell value.

Weakness:

Bumpy ride. mine had some problems with the starter, alternator, battery but I can't say it is a defect on all broncos.

This is a great overall truck. Its too bad they stopped making them. You can pull anything with em. They cruise nicely on the freeway. They can carry anything you want to bring along. Very spacious interior. Turning into a parking space is suprisingly simple for such a high looking vehicle. Its a little tough to drive at first because of the height but you do get used to it. I would reccomend this over a pickup because it can do more. Its better than an expedition because of its length and looks. And its better than a car because it can drive anywhere.

parts like to break on me every time i get another paycheck.

It is a verry good and reliable truck that i some how??? managed to get really cheap. sure i got it as a pile of junk but after some tlc and some $$$$$ it has become one of my best vehicles ever. not to mention this truck has an xlt package with the optional 5.8l 4v ho engine.

Very powerfull 351 5.8L. It tow's like a beast. 4 wheels as good as my friend's jeep CJ-7, and doesn't overheat on the way up.

Weakness:

Haven't found any so far.

This is the first and only truck I will ever buy. My friend's Jeep CJ-7 always has something wrong with it, but my Bronco is still running strong after 130,000 miles.
