Strength:

It's big.

Weakness:

Vibration at 20 and 50 mph., Brakes are shot, tires are shot, vibration when turning in front end, Ford not standing behind along time faithful customer.

We have a lemon. We have had the ring and pinion replaced 3 times and the drive line once. Our tires are shot and the brakes and rotors have to be replaced. Is anyone going through the lemon law? Do you have advice?

Strength:

very roomy with the 9 passenger option. I like the split 3rd row seat and the way 2nd and 3rd rows fold flush with each other completely flat.

Weakness:

At about 1500 miles, I started hearing a faint whining noise. Now at 2800 miles, I took it in to the dealer to be told my rear differential needs to be replaced.

Nice riding full size suv. I have the 4.6L and get 20mpg on the highway.I have taken two trips and the family was very comfortable each time. Even with the very premature service problem I would still buy another one.

Strength:

Very roomy inside. Can fit all of us and our stuff. Like the look of the dash and all the features. (Rear Air, Sunglass holder, etc).

Weakness:

Brake Dust is a major issue. Wish the row seat would fold down into the vehicle rather then having to be removed. Majory mechanical issues after owning less then 3 months. Could use some more power...especially up the hills.

I have owned this car less then three months now and it has started vibrating ans shaking when it goes above 55 and when I go up hills. Doesn't seem to have any power up hills. This morning I went out to drive it and my gears won't shift at all. Won't go into reverse, won't go into drive...nothing. (And it's not because the steering whell was locked). I don't know much about cars but I know that can't be good. I am going to be pretty upset if it's my transmission. If you know what it could be please e-mail me. :-) Thanks

I had a Dodge Durango that never had any problems but was too small for all of us. I did like that the third row seat folded into the car so it didn't have to be removed like the Expedition.

Strength:

Lots of space, great third row leg room, great factory sound system, good handling, good brakes(that make little dust now), nice dash layout, lights light the road and everything around it wonderfully, very comfortable seats front and back, smooth ride for such a large suv, the best safety ratings...

Weakness:

seat leather doesnt seem to be of high quality, sunroof is a bit small, not a lot of power with the 4.6 (this problem will be addressed on the 2005 models which come standard with a 300hp 5.4 from the 2004 f150), brakes made a ton of dust until the pads were replaced

I got this vehicle back in August of 2002 when the new models had just came out. It now has just over 40,000 miles on it. The only problems I have had out of this vehicle are the passenger side mirror went all the way down instead of just tilting when putting the vehicle in reverse, the brakes were making a lot of dust (new brake pads), and the power drivers seat had to be replaced. All of these things were replaced at no cost to me and I was always provided with a loaner car. The service at the dealer was great and fixed all of my problems. The brake pads were just replaced at nearly 39,000 miles and even though it was out of the warranty they still replaced them at no cost, no questions asked.

Strength:

Roomy, well appointed, power fold rear seat

Weakness:

Differential (rear-end) replaced twice in 9000 miles. Also 'scrubbing' in front-end that Ford can't seem to duplicate. Annoying things like CD changer quit working, rubber bumper on rear window fell off. Email me if you had similar issues, particularly with the drive train or scrubbing sounds.

Good people hauler and much better to drive than 1999 I had previously. Some annoying service issues as well as a serious one.

Now with 98,000 miles, my Expeditoin EB. Equipped with 5.4L Engine & Air Suspension (A cuplrit??) has developed a vibration/shake present at all speeds. The following has been done to troubleshoot: Replaced: Shocks, Tires, Balance, wheels checked, and straightened. Checked: Front end components. Feels like: you feel EVERY bump in the road. Has been a great truck until now. Please help

Strength:

When compaired to preveous models, much improved ride and handling, quieter, better pickup and gas milage, electric rear seats improve useability.

Weakness:

Brake dust is a major problem. Brand loyalty does not seem to make any difference with Ford on resolving issues.

This is my 4th Ford SUV and 3rd Expedition. 1997, 2000 2004. In many ways this is the best Veh. of all. Biggest problem is that I cannot drive around the block without coming back with black wheels from brake dust. Ford has replacement pads but they want $450 to put them on. I am now looking at Kleen Wheel Dust shields as a fix.

Weakness:

Truck-like ride at slow speeds, brake dust. Dealer has yet to figure out what is causing a 'click" as the car slows. (f you have this problem, e-mail me)Poor gas milage as advertised

Overall, we are pleased with this vehicle so far. We have driven it in severe weather with no problems and lots of confidence. Does especially well in heavy snow.

Strength:

Good interior design and comfort Excellent handling & braking Nice look overall.

Weakness:

Inferior quality and mediocre customer care. Got various problems within 6 months of buying the vehicle new. Some of which could be fixed, but for those still not fixed, neither Ford Motors nor dealer will take responsibility to fix them. Customer care is of no help either for some costly issues and they won't hesitate to let you down with "your problems" in rude fashions. Will never buy a Ford again.

Great vehicle for growing family and carrying loads, but poor assembly quality & mediocre customer care. Bought the vehicle for my wife (and young kids), but now wonder when the vehicle is going to let her down.
