Strength:

Interior size, fuel economy, complete control of the car, reliability, size of the trunk. Bought a new home, made several trips to Home Depot and Lowes, and not in a single time, the car did not let me place everything I purchased on those places!

Weakness:

Engine could be a bit stronger, but like the car so much that power becomes not a crucial need! In fact, I rather have a gas saver car than a powerful one, especially nowadays, with these ridiculous gas prices!

A Honda is a Honda! What else can we say?
Forgive me the owners of Toyotas, Mazdas, and Nissans, but they can not be compared to a Honda.
Had a 87 Civic before, 150k, considered to be a salvage car. However, I have never had a single problem with that car. After all, it was a Honda, despite being a salvage car.
Now, own a CR-V, the best SUV value for your money! Very safe SUV, it makes you feel attached to the ground, the car does not balance to the sides when making line changes on the freeway, you feel complete control of the car. At the same time, you are at the same height as all other huge SUV's on the road! And fantastic the 27 miles per gallon!!! No other SUV can beat that.
Excellent value for the money, a Honda keeps its re-selling value. I am buying another Honda now, a 2000 Civic Hatchback. After you own a Honda, you just can not have enough, you always go back for another one, and another one...

It just can not be compared! I considered a RAV4 and Subaru Forester before, but I am very, very happy with my CR-V!

Strength:

Reliability, no problems at 60k miles
Back seats are more comfortable than RAV4
No center counsel making me feel boxed in

Weakness:

Confusing switches on front doors

I would buy another one. I like the visability. It makes a great tow car for behind my motorhome. A word of caution to other CR-V owners, I was broken in to and had my after market stero stolen. The thief worked an antenna between the frame and the door and pressed the "U" on the "U/L" button.

Strength:

-comfortable
-reliability
-fuel economy
-price

Weakness:

-things start to degrade after 100k(ride quality, body structure)
-all the locks and handles on the car malfunction (especially in the winter)
-paint(we have the black color instead of the metallic which i think is better if u don't take care of it)

I would definitely recommmend this car to others. If the new CRV coming out later this year, we will consider getting a more powerful model one.

Strength:

Light and nimble on the road. Roomy interior and great little features. Barely big enough to fit a whole dinner table from Ikea! Reliable and consistent engine performance. Gobble up less gas than other SUV's. Leather seats.

Weakness:

Not enough power but the competitors are just the same. Seat does not provide the same comfortable back support as Honda's sedans. Too light so not enough grip on wet freeway. No HomeLink to open garage door. No audio control buttons on steering wheel. No gas cap holder. Too much flexible plastic. Outdated style but the 2002 is a major rework. I guess my Accord EX V6 spoiled me.

First of all I'm not that big into SUV but every family need one or a truck so... Anyway, this car is everything you want from a SUV, the good and bad. The Honda reliability is a plus and it drives like a Honda. The worst part for me is the seat which is average. After getting into a few accidents, I require excellent lumbar support. My Accord is one of the few non-European car that gives me enough comfort for long drives. But the CRV is still a better choice than the rest. If I have to buy another SUV, I'd probably go for the Toyota Matrix due to my preference for sedans. But given a choice of SUV's, I'd settle for another CRV. I just hope they get the hybrid version out sooner...

Strength:

Gas milage - terrific due to smallish engine.
Tons of room - it looks small but I haul enormous antiques in it. Highly recommended for soccer moms.
Rides like a car - quiet, smooth.
Great ride - comfy seats, plenty of leg room.
Easy to manuever and park in big city traffic.

Weakness:

No power - terrible due to smallish engine.
Will not pull anything larger than a jet ski so not good for boats, trailers, etc.
Heating-A/C could be better designed, doesn't cool rear seat passengers well.

I am in looooooove. I left a Range Rover in Hawaii to marry a Texan with an Accord, took one look at the local antique stores and said very loudly *SUV*. We tested the Trouper, the Honda Passport but when they rolled out the CRV, it was Just Right. We were stunned by the amount of head and leg room for my tall hubby, amazed by all the places to put things:a sunglasses drawer!, cup holders galore, net holders on the backs of the seats, a little change drawer for toll money right at your left hand, a deep drawer under the right front seat, and that picnic table, which we have used from Dallas to Hyannis with great delight. We call it The Aquarium because you have acres of glass for good visibility. And you can't make it skid on ice - we're both from warm climates, were wary of PA winters so we tried - it won't do it. People stop us on the street and admire it. Nothing ever goes wrong and we make our service appts for no reason other than good upkeep and gratitude - thank you, Honda! We're thinking of getting a second one in 2002.

Strength:

Honda Reliabilty should say it all....No problems whatsoever in the 3 years I've had it.
Size - Although this is in the baby-SUV category, it's size is deceptive. Hop in the back seat and you will notice that there's plenty of room. It feels larger than a 4-runner, but with a shorter trunk.

Weakness:

1) What is up with the power window switches on the dashboard? They should be on the doors. 2) The power door lock is on the driver side, yet on the passenger side, it's the window. The passenger side door unlocks the old fashioned way, by pulling up on the knob.
3) Power is adequate, at best. Fully loaded going to Lake Tahoe, CA on I50, you need to drop it down to 4th, sometimes 3rd. Definitely no passing power in the hills. A small Honda V-6 would do the trick.
4) Noise - Engine noise is pretty loud. Better dampening on the firewall would help a lot. I considered buying some "Dynamat" which is what car audio buffs use to make their cars quieter.

Well worth the money spent (or saved rather).

Strength:

Honda reliability. Smooth ride and Honda quality. I have had great experiences with Honda dealerships. Almost no problems with vehicle or only minor problems. Great body look. Great interior room and leg room

Weakness:

Could have more power, I live on a large hill. I think the body side panels dent easily. I have a few dents from other cars hitting my doors.
I would like daytime running lights which are not available. Also think that a casette player in ex model would be nice. Also gas cap holder.

My overall impression is excellent. Very dependable and reliable. Great in the snow and ice. Drives like a car but you have the height of a SUV.
Many cupholders and compartments for cargo. Driver seat is comfortable and supportive.

Strength:

Gas Milage, Bigger one of the mini-SUVs, reliability (HONDA)
Ride.

Weakness:

NONE! Get the 99 and above models with more horse power.

Well made car! Very smooth ride. Good gas milage at 25MPG but wish it had a bigger gas tank, 13 gallons is too small. Lots of leg, head, cargo and passenger space im 6'4" and drive a stick!!! Tried the X-Terra and the tiny Montero, fit better in the CR-V. Love it will get a newer model with more horse power ASAP.

Strength:

Great handling, easy on gas, great looks, HONDA QUALITY!

Weakness:

Underpowered ('98 model), takes a long time for the AC to cool the interior here in AZ, arrogant dealers

I traded my '95 Pathfinder for the '98 CR-V. The CR-V's cargo space hold almost as much as the Pathfinder did (CR-V seems about 1 foot shorter).
Rides and handles like a car.

Only gripe - the '98 model is underpowered. I bought a 5-speed manual because the automatic transmission made it even slower to accelerate. The '99 model got more horsepower, so hopefully this has helped.

OK, one more gripe. Why is it that salespeople at Honda dealerships are so arrogant? When I was shopping for my new car, the salespeople were not willing at all to make any effort to find the exact car I wanted or to deal. "This is what I have, that's what the car costs." I wish I could buy a Honda without having to deal with their salespeople.

Regardless, I can't wait to see the next generation CR-V!

Yes, I would buy another CR-V./
