LX 4WD
Strength:
Handling and performance, fit and finish.
Weakness:
Noisier than my Kia Sportage. Tailgate swings out towards curb. Great ride. Lots of cargo capacity. Handles better than my previous mini-SUV. Bought it chiefly because of Honda reliability. The Sportage stranded me twice in supermarket parking lots (turned out to be gearshift start interlock switch). Similar Products Used: Compared to Kia Sportage CR-V has much nicer interior, much more back leg room. Much better acceleration. Superior to Sportage for on-road driving. Sportage had recalls for emission system and spare tire carrier, plus my gas mileage was poorer (19 mpg city, 21 mpg highway). Sportage was superb off-road, had great front down visibility, but only went off road twice in 3 years. |

Strength:
Roomy interior
Weakness:
Very weak engine, useless roof-rack (only supports 75lbs), noisy engine and no ABS in LX. Good small SUV for the price. Compared to a Hyundai Santa Fe and Toyota Rav4. Overall, for the features and price this was the best choice. The review in ConsumerReports did it for me. It ranked the 3rd recommended pick behind the Rav4 (too small) and the Subaru Forester (station wagon). Similar Products Used: 2001 Toyota Tacoma 4x4( I should have kept it) |

Not one mechanical problem with car!
Weakness:
Odd door locking scheme. Drive lock swith is where you would expect to be able to roll a window down and is the ONLY door lock swith in the vehicle??? Very happy. We bought this car as a smaller easier to fit in the garage replacment for a 97 Nissan Pathfinder as a car that can hold two baby seats, two adults, and a load of stuff from Costco. So far so good. I was surprized by the cars power for a small 4 cyl engine, not bad. Not as good as the v6 in the Nissan but it gets us there and get way better gass mileage.
