Strength:

Sharp, rugged appearance. Lots of bells and whistles standard. Good get up & go. Shiftronic automatic transmission is a blast! Power everything! Built-in security system. Keyless door entry (click once for driver's door and a second time for all others).

Weakness:

Front seat passenger headroom. Overhead console calendar LCD. Believe the LS may feature a more robust heads-up display, but the calendar-only feature in mine is more annoying than anything. I'd prefer that this had been left out of the vehicle's configuration altogether.

Did quite a bit of research before taking the plunge into the small SUV market. Had considered the Subaru Outback (too pricey) and Toyota RAV4 (too many negative reviews). Dealer was up-front in dickering the final purchase price. My Sante Fe is loaded with standard features. Pleanty of get-up & go from the V6. Shiftronic automatic transmission is a blast - reminds me of my early standard transmission driving days. I also found the Santa Fe's sharp, rugged appearance particularly appealing. A little short on driver headroom, but reclining the seat one notch helped to resolve this minor shortcoming.

Strength:

Our absolute favorite feature on our Santa Fe is the heated seats. The Santa Fe has excellent handling and manuverability.

Weakness:

I cannot think of any weaknesses in the Santa Fe.

The Santa Fe is an excellent vehicle at an excellent price. Our Santa Fe came fully loaded for such an affordable amount. The Santa Fe is quite roomy even for large and tall drivers. There are many compartments and pockets to store maps, CDs, manuals, etc. and has plenty of cup holders. It drives like a car, but with all the great features of an SUV. Road noise is almost non-existent. The cargo area is very large for such a small profile vehicle.

Strength:

I am happy with the santa fe's power and handling and ride comfort.

Weakness:

The wheel well inserts are destroyed due to gravel road driving. They were broke around 200 km on the vehicle. They will be fixed under warranty but it will just happen over and over.Hyundai will not pay anything to fix or even try to improve the problem on the vehicle. So if you want go of the highway I suggest you put it on a trailer and pull it.

I,m not really happy with the Santa fe.

Strength:

The price compared to all other brands Good looks Well planned and equiped interior Very good gas mileage for class 4 cylinder engine will keep me from getting tickets

Weakness:

4 cylinder engine is very weak (130 HP Lots of road noise and vibration

If you want vehicle worth the money then the Santa Fe is it. Great buy for the money. I needed something under 20,000 and Hyundai delivered with this vehicle. My pervious vehicle was a Jeep Cherokee and the Santa Fe is like riding in a Mercedes compared to the Charokee. By the way, Lexus sells the Santa Fe (excact same vehicle) under ist's own name and with Lexus logo ! ! !

Strength:

Good looks

Weakness:

Slow accleration, vibration really noticeable above 45mph and gas mileage could be better

Thought I did my homework before purchasing my new Santa Fe. I guess I was not thorough enough. Since my first tire rotation I have had a wicked vibration in the car. I have had it to the dealer 8 times for repair and to date I still have the problem. We test drove a 2003 model and it also has the same vibration. I test drove my Santa Fe 3 times before buying it and it did not have a vibration. We drove it to California and all was well and I had no complaints with the car, in fact, I loved the car. But it is only 5 months old and I have been having this problem since the car was 3 months old. The dealership says that this is normal for the vehicle and I say that it is not. I certainly would not have purchased my Santa Fe with the wicked vibration.

Strength:

Fit and finish. Handeling on snow and ice. Very quiet ride.

Weakness:

Would like to have adjustable hight on front passanger seat. And, a longer front arm rest would be nice.

Very good in deep snow and on ice. Car has much more get up and go then I had thought. Fit and finish is superior to most. Handles very well.

Haven't found any yet.

After owning a 2000 Tiberon decided to check out the Sante Fe. It is an excellent vehicle for the price. It has great safty features and will turn off your lights if you leave them on, then they come on again when you start it up. It handles wonderfully and seems to have plenty of power contrary to what I have heard. Gas milage a little low but have been told after 20,000 miles it gets better. Like the fact that the driver side door opens by the remote only unless you press the remote a couple of times.

Strength:

-Stand-Out looks (You don't see yourself coming and going). -Initial fit and finish is great. -Very practical for a family of four. -Great value. -Best Warranty around.

Weakness:

-Engine is noisy and a bit weak.

We had a deposit down on a 2003 Honda CRV and were waiting for it to come in. We went and looked at a Santa Fe because a friend of mine had one. I have to say I am very happy with it. My wife and I have two children, 4 and 2. It is a great commuter vehicle. We can all four fit with plenty of room in the back for groceries, or whatever else we need. I like the fact that we sit up in traffic but it doesn't feel overly prone to tip over (if you are realistic about the performance). The AM/FM/Cassette/CD player with 6 speakers sounds very good. We have the "ManuMatic" transmission with the manual detent. I guess this is a nice feature but I haven't found a practical use for it. My only real complaint is that the V-6 engine is a little noisy and could use about 20 more horsepower. The only problem so far was a failed O2 sensor that the dealer replaced under warranty in about an hour. All in all we are very happy.

V-6. Great gitty up for what we need it for. FWD not AWD. Pleanty of room and very nice styling. Even pay $300 less a year with the Santa Fe over the Sonata! figure that one out??

Weakness:

None so far. Except waiting to see if its better than the 98 Sonata. Would have liked the AWD but didnt need it.

I didn't want another Hyundai after my 98 Sonata. Replaced the motor at 23,000, The trans. 3 times. and bought this new. The wife wanted the Santa Fe. SO i priced and looked. Nothing came better or easier. Everything else in its class was 7-15,000 more. Even a newer used Explorer was upwards of $30,000. I will never buy another car without using the Net. I got the best price by doing so. $200 over dealer purchase price. WAY less than invoice and even MSRP. No one could beat it.
