Strength:

Comfortable, great sounds, plenty cargo space.

Weakness:

The steering wheel does not lock.

I love the ascender it's a great SUV. I traded my rodeo and I was so pleased. It's stylish, comfortable and those guys over @ Pohanka were wonderful. I've been a proud Isuzu driver for the last 5 yrs and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Strength:

Large and can move several people (When it's not in the shop)

Weakness:

Getting it repaired

40,000 miles and It's been in the shop 3 times and has cost me over $1,000.00. It's in the shop as I write this for three days now and no word on it. It's in for the same problem I had fixed a year ago. Will not start, the air condition doesn't work and the break are bad. The dealership I purchased it from is no longer a Isuzu dealer and now I have to have it towed 70 miled to the nearest dealer. Not very happy with this SUV. Time to get rid of it.

Strength:

Quiet, ice cold air, fuel efficient, no rattles, smooth handling

Weakness:

not very many

I have previously owned other Isuzu SUV's and this is no different. They are great and I recommend highly. I've owned Rodeo, Trooper, and Axiom as well and never had repair once. I am either very lucky or these are really good vehicles. I think the latter is true.

Strength:

ride comfort, power, convenience, styling, and deluxe features and finish.

Weakness:

should have standard outside temp feature.

Have owned a 2005 Trailblazer EXT LT 4x4 for 8 months, and entered the market for a second vehicle. Having been very pleased with the 7-passenger Trailblazer, we first considered a 5-passenger Trailblazer LS 4x4. The LS Trailblazer seemed like a compromise vehicle, with very few extras to get excited about...Then we discovered the Ascenders on the other side of the lot. With two-tone paint, 17" wheels, driving lights, and an interior straight from the upscale GMC Envoy, the Ascender just looked more expensive inside and out. Then we learned of the Isuzu warranty, and the tremendous price advantage that the Ascender enjoys over all other GM-built SUVs. The decision was an easy one and one we haven't regretted. This vehicle is ideal in so many ways. We have owned Grand Cherokees (3), Tahoes (3), Suburbans (3), and the Trailblazer. Both the Trailblazer and the Ascender are superior to the others in ride comfort, power, and convenience. The Ascender, however, is also a rare bargain among new vehicles.

Strength:

A Lot of space, thats it!!

Weakness:

Everything. I will never buy another Isuzu car for as long as I'm capable of driving. It is the worst car ever made and the biggest mistake I ever made in buying this vehicle.

I bought this vehicle new with 32 miles on it and since I've had it for 17 months its been one headache after another. Electrical signal lights system went bad, the rear window wiper mechanism went bad, the 2 oxygen sensors went bad which caused constant stalling, the driving gear mechanism went bad. Out of the 17 months driving this vehicle it has been in the shop 6 times. Right now I'm waiting for the 2 oxygen sensors that are on backorder to arrive, so I'm driving the vehicle which does not know if it needs to accelerate or slow down.

Midnight Ascender
Model Reviewed: Ascender 7-pass

Strength:

V-8 with V-6 gas mileage if you leave those hourses alone long enough, on board oil lab with the limited, warrenty, pricing, and style

Weakness:

GM won't give up the Navigation and XM with out a fight.

I just love my Midnight Ascender Limited. This is actully my second one I bought a 2003 6 Cyl 7-Pass when they first came out trading in a fully loaded Accord V-6. I loved the 2003 but missed all the bells and wistles I had in the Accord so only five months later while at the dealer showing off the multi-media system I saw a Black 04 in the show room that I just had to have and got it. Since then I have added XM, Navigation(factory) ha ha Envoy lovers, headrest monitors for the second row, flipdown for the third row, and a 12" sub and I still have all the cargo space I started with now imagine that. Haven't decided on the shoes yet(rims)looking for something that just jumps out and grabs me really thinking about black with a crome lip I think that would set my Midnight Ascender out from the increasing numbers in Fayetteville. I just love when Envoy and Trailblazer owners checkout the ride and compare it with there's. The grille is far more eye catching, the rear bumper is a lot longer hiding the spare tire and muffler giving it a much more sporty look. test drive them all the Trailblazer, Envoy, Renier, Ascender, or even the new Saab version I did. You just can't get the warrenty, price, or looks in the others that you get with the Ascender.

I love my ascender! Fully loaded, leather seats. Because I felt I saved so much compared to Envoy, I had the dealer install auto ignition starter and dvd player. Have only seen 3 others, 2 Suitland, MD 1 Key West, FL. Lots of room, comfortable for long drives, easy driving. Do not miss my mini van. I was worried because I had not seen any others on the road, I now take as a complement.

Strength:

Powerful and quiet. Ride is excellent. Plenty of room.

Weakness:

I wish they had put the Envoy seats in it rather than the chevy Trailblazer seats. The seat comfort is the only thing lacking. The only time it bothers me is an a long trip.

I have about 3000 miles on my Acsender Limited. It's 2WD with a 5.3 V8. I love this vehicle. It's very quiet and the V8 engine has more power than you need.

I Love my ascender, I looked at the Envoy and Trailblazer they don't compare in price. I got all the extra's I wanted and then some. It is like having both the trailblazer and Envoy combined into 1 vehicle. I still haven't seen another one on the road its kinda cool!

Strength:

Lots of room, drives smooth (not like a big car), PRICE!! The dealer was excellent to deal with!!!

Weakness:

Havent found one yet....

I love this vehicle. It is so roomy, rides smooth, and very well equipted for the price. All the qualities of the Envoy, which we liked, but much less, which we liked more. The dealer was very nice, and great to deal with, unlike the honda dealer when we looked at the pilot, but again, much better priced, and better to deal with. I am so glad we looked at these, before we passed the dealer, i had never even heard of them. Which is kinda nice because not every other car is one like yours, but i still haven't seen one on the road, they are excellent. Needs more advertising.
