Strength:
Great off road vehicle, tons of fun to drive in the snow and the sun.
Weakness:
Gas mileage is terrible, the soft top is loud (but bearable) and wears out rather quickly. My biggest grip is reliability. While the frame is very sturdy and well bell, Chrysler (as usual) went for cheap parts in other places. I would recommend it b/c there's nothing like it. At the same time I would like to make people aware of some of the problems I've already encountered. First off the air conditioning vent controller has broken...TWICE (the vent controller directs the air, now my AC only goes to my feet and to the windsheild, not in the dash vents where it's suppossed to). I had to have the exhaust manifold replaced (although that was a factory defect, so it was free). The steering stabiler boots snapped in 2 (and I don't do any "hardcore" offroading, and have only actually been offroading a handful of times). 2 weeks ago the fan belt slipped off and got ripped and shredded for no apparent reason (and the damn thing squeaks whenever it's humid outside...really LOUD). I think that's about it...can't wait to see what goes wrong next. Similar Products Used: Nothing even close |

great on miles i have 225,000 on my 6 cyc jeep wrangler and still running strong, you can just buy about everything for a jeep there are magizines that sell enough stuff to build a jeep yourself and also they have alot of cool stuff you can buy to add on to your stock jeep. i have a 1991 wrangler that have 30 in. mud tires and i can go just about anywhere in my jeep it never get stuck i usally don't even haave to put it in 4 wheel drive. the frame it very strong and the engine last very long lets see one of those hondas get 225,000 miles on it. jeeps also sound better then cars do with a system in it i have 2 12 inch subs and nothing rattles on my jeep no trunk to rattle it sounds great. you can even buy a super charger for it that will make it run 14s in the 1/4 mile that's crazy in a jeep.
Weakness:
-gas mileage i recommand getting one unless you don't think you can handle it then don't get one. Similar Products Used: doesn't probably on of the best suvs made for their price i mean you can go anywhere the army uses themso they know what's up |

Strength:
Great Ride, Unique vehicle, Short wheelbase, great hill climber in the snow, soft top fun, waving at other Wrangler owners.
Weakness:
4 cylinder is a bit weak, but broke in very nicely. Soft top can be noisy at times, but its not as bad as people say it is. Gas mileage is around 17 MPG which seems low for such a small vehicle. I'd like to thank the one reviewer who stated that the 4 cylinder needs to be broken in slowly and gently. Initially driving the 4 cylinder, it has very poor power, but it will loosen up very nicely. The Jeep drives and handles very well. It is not a sports car. The one thing that I have noticed since we got our first real snow in Pittsburgh is the fact that it is easy to spin the Jeep (even when in 4 wheel drive). This is my first Jeep. Is this normal for a Jeep Wrangler? I am riding on Goodyear Wrangler GSA's which came on the vehicle. The ride is very smooth and comfortable on the highway and around town. I love taking the soft top down and crusin', only it will be awhile before I can do that again. I recommend this vehicle to anyone who truly wants to enjoy driving wherever they go. Strength:
Awesome for wheeling capabilities. Engine just won't break, even after four wheeling almost every other week. Loads of fun in the summer. Good in the winter snow. Customization possibilities are endless.
Weakness:
Fairly noisy. Eats Gas. Eats Gas. Eats Gas. Poor rear driveshaft and output shaft design. I bought my jeep stock with little 15X7 inch rims and road tires. It now has a 4.5" suspension lift, and a 3" body lift. It sits on 36" swampers. Other improvements include a 4:56 gear ratio and bolt on HP accessories. After all this, I haven't found many vehicles that can compete with the abilities of the Jeep. In spite of this, those who are not looking to modify their Jeeps, don't worry. I took my Jeep out mudding and four wheeling a day after I got it. The performance stunned me. I would say, even if you have a stock Jeep, put some good all terrain tires on it, and it will take you almost anywhere!! The 4.0L six is one of the most bulletproof motor I have seen in a long time. Wether you are a young person looking for a fun vehicle, or an older adult who wants to put some serious money in an off-road toy, the Jeep is for you. Similar Products Used: Like nothing else. |

Much fun to drive or ride in. More than enough power with I-6. Good secure soft top, wind noise not bad. Comfortable driver and front passenger seats.
Weakness:
My 15 year old V8 Chevy Caprice gets better gas mileage. Probably not the best long commute to work vehicle. I recommend the Wrangler over the others in its class. Buy one and join the club. Similar Products Used: Suzuki RM250 = |

With no modifications it goes off-road like no other vehicle I've ever owned. Really fun to drive in town with the top down and the hard top is much quieter and warmer. You can turn on a dime. Alot smoother then I expected.
Weakness:
15 mpg. The soft top is really noisy and it's very difficult to put the hard top on or remove it. It's kind of scary at highway speeds in a strong cross wind. I purchased a Wrangler specifically to drive off road. None of the weaknesses surprised me. What did surprise me was it's ability to handle off-road with no modifications and the amount of good will you receive from other Jeep owners (90% wave at you. It took me a month to remember to wave so I didn't look like a jerk). It's the third new vehicle I've had and the second 4X4 but it's the most fun and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Great all weather drivability . Good visibility, sharp turning radius, can park in tight spots. Not the run of the mill SUV clone. Jeep heritage makes all other SUV's wannabees.
Weakness:
Gas mileage could be better. (4.0 Liter) I would recommend The Jeep Wrangler to anyone desiring a fun all-terrain driving experience. It's not a family car,but you can't beat the driving experience. I now welcome blizzards and major snowfalls. Similar Products Used: 1990 Ford bronco |

The new Jeeps are quite a change from the past. Although still rugged, the new suspention is a very welcome feature from the bumpy, loud jeeps of the past. Lots of aftermarket accessories will keep your pocket empty for a while. The four wheel drive system is unsurpassed by any other SUV I have ever driven.
Weakness:
Passenger side leg room is something to be disired. Gas milage is awful. A 6 cylinder vehicle should get more than 14 mpg. (I had a twin turbo charged stealth which managed 22!) During windy conditions, the vehicle is very hard to control. Jeep's QA department and engineers need to go back to school. Interior parts are very cheap. Window handle has broken. E-break has broken. When it rains, water pours into the drivers side floorboards. Transmission grinds going into gear, and even pops out when it is cold. Mind you this vehicle only has 9,500 miles on it. The Wrangler is a great vehicle for the person who does not have to use it for a long commute to and from work. It is definately overpriced for the quality which the company is putting out. However, when you get the Wrangler off road in its true form, you seem to forget all of these things. It is a very fun car to drive. Similar Products Used: I have driven 4-runners, Pathfinders, and Rodeo's. The Jeep will outperform any of these off road. |

Excellant off-road machine. Will kick the sh%t out of any other 4x4 with a good set of tires.
Weakness:
The four cylinder is weak on the hwy but if you treat it like a four banger and douwnshift to 4th, you can actually accelerate going up a hill I would recommend a Jeep Tj to anyone who is different. If your very picky about little sqeaks and rattles and the odd water leaks, go by a freaking import!!. The Jeep is for people who want to use their vehicle for FUN, not just transportation. ruggedness, looks, versatility, and fun driving.
Weakness:
1. passenger side floor leak during heavy or long periods of rain. 2. at 10,000 miles it's now started a small oil leak in which i'm in the process of having it checked out. 3. gas mileage 4. bumpy ride 5. storage space 6.crappy factory speakers absolutely fun vehicle to drive. it's an awesome toy. i highly recommend this to single people or families with no kids or families with kids as a second vehicle. an absolute joy. on the negatives: with the exception of the oil and water leaks(a quite common complaint i've noticed), the weaknesses i mentioned are inherent of the jeep and you have to realize that when considering buying. hell, they shouldn't even be considered weaknesses, they should just be considered part of the wrangler experience.
