Strength:

Very dependable and a strong built vehicle.
Easy to use 4WD system, and very dependable when needed for snow, or mud

Weakness:

I wish one day they would make a model with an electric softtop

Excellant on or off road. Easy to work on when accesory's are wanted.
The vehicle is so simple to use, and the styling is unmatched. With the option of a hard top for the winter and a soft top for the summer...what other vehicle out there can you say compares?
I have had no trouble getting any warrenty work done either.
In the past 10 years I have owened 3 Wranglers, and the only problem I have had was a faulty design with my '99's manifold. Was replaced by the dealer with no questions asked.
The Wrangler more than lived up to my expectaions of going off road. This baby climbes over anything with ease, and with the new coil suspension rides nice on the highway too.

All other vehicles in its class have failed either me or friends. The style has been attempted to be copied by many manufacturers, but nothing has compared to the Wrangler

easy to work on, fun, simple construction, cheap aftermarket upgrades, lots of fun, off-road capability, did i say fun?

Weakness:

none

I got my YJ a few month back and enjoyed every day. i already installed Rubicon Express 4.5 Extreme Duty lift kit, AA SYE, Tom Wood's driveshaft, etc. I did all the work myself, it was that easy.
Great capability, great classic looks, turns heads.
A few times I had it off-road it performed extremely well, even before the lift with stock suspension.

Best Rockcrawler
Convertible with hard and soft tops
Fun to drive
Easy to work on

Weakness:

Sucks a lot of gas
Stock parts brake/bend too easily

I love my jeep. Everybody should have one. And keep those greenies from closing public lands! Jeep is probably the best choice vehicle if you like to work on it, modify suspension components or want to try your own ideas. There are a lot of aftermarket companies who support jeep enthusiasts with thousands of product available, ranging from lift kits and skid plates to soft tops and lightening.

Great off-road! Most fun vehicle I've owned. Babe-magnet! Great reliability. I have had no warranty related issues. 52,000 in 3 years and still running strong. I fully expect to get over 200k out of the motor.

Weakness:

Kinda' small for the family stuff.

I've been driving my Jeep for three years now. No major problems, and it is a blast to drive. I got bit by the Jeep bug a long time ago. Now I'm a die-hard off-road driver (Tread Lightly!), and Jeep fan. I am never going to sell my Jeep! It truely is as fun as it looks. Not to mention the comradery of Jeep owners. Through "Jeeping" I've met people from all across the country, as well as a few from Europe.

I've had Chevy pickups in the past. No comparison. I got bored with them quickly. The only advantage was towing ability, and cargo space.

Strength:

First and foremost.... IT IS A JEEP!!!!
Easy to work on, simple components
AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS OUT THE WAZOO
Removable carpet
reliable transfer case
Good low end tourque

Weakness:

Lack of a real rear locker as a factory option. The Trash Lok is not worth a damn....
Factory rear axle strenght leaves a lot to be desired
Front axle vac disconnect has a history of failing
Jeep wide problems with the Cat Converter

The statement :It's A Jeep Thing, You Wouldn't Understand" is true... Everything else is just a car!!!

I bought my Jeep new in 95 and would not trade it for the WORLD!!!! I have been less than impressed with Diamler Chryslers "improvements" to the Jeep line up with the TJ, and the Liberty. Something is just lost when you have factory AC in the Dash of a Jeep!!!!! They changend their marketing approach from off roaders to Teeny Girls, and lost me.... The TJ is a capable vehicle, but the coils were built for comfort.... Biggest complaint about the new TJ... Price... In 95 when I bought my fully loaded 4 popper I got it for a whopping $15,000. The 97 which was the next model year, went for the $20,000 range for a basic 4 popper... The same base model in 95 was UNDER $10,000!!!! Why would I want to spend $20,000 on a Jeep that just planned on running into the ground and tearing up?

If you buy a Jeep for comfort and relaibility, you are in the WRONG VEHICLE... If you buy a Jeep for a fun, kick @$$ off road toy, you are going in the right direction.....

Enough rant....

Jeep is a way of life, and once you are a Jeeper, you are a Jeeper for life....

Strength:

-Tough
-Very car-like ride and interior
-Off road capabilities
-Numerous accessory possibilities

Weakness:

-Road noise w/ soft top
-Gas guzzler with a 4.0 Liter and 3-speed automatic
-Not much space

WARNING: This vehicle is not for everyone.

That being said, I have been loving life since I bought my Jeep. My wife and I rode in a Jeep on our honeymoon and we fell in love...with the Jeep that is. We decided to buy one, and finally did, 6 months after our honeymoon. For those of you who don't own one, this is a vehicle that has endless possibilities. You can go rag-top, hard-top, or no-top. It has hundreds of accessories that you can find to put your own personal touch to it. You can go places that most people never have the opportunity to see because their vehicles cannot make it. Also, you end up joining a club without even knowing it! You just drive down the road and other Jeep owners wave at you. It gives you a "don't lock your doors", "don't worry about the interior", "who says you have to stay on the road" care-free attitude. To all those who mock us, we politely respond "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand."

If you are skeptical about buying one, rent one on your next vacation... you will have fun, I promise.

Strength:

Short wheelbase, high ground clearance, 2.72 low-range, smooth ride onroad, great articulation offroad.

Weakness:

None - it fulfills its intended purpose to a T.

I could not be more enthusiastic in my recommendation of the Jeep TJ Wrangler as both a commuter vehicle and as a weekend offroader. The coil-spring suspension rides well onroad and allows amazing articulation when four-wheeling. In my 2+ years of Jeep ownership, not even once have I encountered a single maintenance problem. It still runs like a top. Just as important, the community of Jeep owners in my area is a very close-knit group. Becoming a part of this web of owners brings a certain sense of pride in the vehicle that cannot be found with other SUV's. The Jeep is second to none in the sport utility category.

Strength:

superior off road performance! I've yet to drive another vehicle that can perform as well as the wrangler. in the stock form, a brand new TJ wrangler feels like a sports car until you hit the dirt, where it will transform into an all terrain animal! and you have to love a 4x4 convertable!

Weakness:

lack of towing capabilities, nature of the short wheel base, which is part of the reason why it is superior off road.

this is my second Wrangler that I have owned. I am one of the few who uses the 4 wheel drive system to it's limits, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I love everything about my Jeep. and the options availible to customize are limited only by your imagination and budget.

if you've never driven a TJ, run to your closest Jeep dealer & test drive one so you too can become a part of the Jeep community!

Strength:

Great aftermarket. Power with all motors. It's a Jeep.

Weakness:

Could use a stronger axles, but I am abusing them. (33" Boggers) Rough ride.

I love my Jeep. It is a tank and rides like one too. It's a 1995 YJ with a 4" spring lift and 33x14" Super Swamper Boggers. My Jeep will go anywhere I point it. My little 4 banger turns the 33's without any problem. It does lack highway power. 5th gear is pretty much useless, but it's a Jeep, not an indy car. It's not meant to be fast.

For people who want a real Jeep, get a 1995 or older (with leaf springs).

For those of you who want Jeep capabilities with a great ride, get a TJ (1997 and newer).

Strength:

Unmatched off road capability in stock configuration.
Great engine, strong torque from idle to red line.
Huge selection of 3rd party (aftermarket) products.

Weakness:

Dash it to car like.

This is a great daily driver. I put over 50K miles on mine in it's first two years. The ride is great, it drives wonderfully, even at highway speeds. Comfortable and a convertible. Nothing makes a day better than ridding with the top down. Then you take it off road..... Nothing can compare to it's off road ability's. This thing will go anywhere. Then there is the unbelievable amount of accessories available for the Jeep. You can customize it to fit your personality, in a way that no other vehicle can match. And then you have all of camaraderie that comes with owning a Jeep. Now, that's a Jeep thing.....

Similar Products Used:

Nothing compares, a Defender 90 or Hummer are close in performance off of the showroom floor. But you can put a few dollars into upgrades and make a Jeep much better than either, and still have spent a lot less than a Defender 90 or Hummer would cost.
