Strength:

A lot of SUV/CUV for your money...VALUE!
Well designed, well made, good looking!
MADE IN USA! West Point Georgia!
Build quality is supurb...absolutely perfect!
KIA 100,000 mile 10 year Power Train warranty! And 5 year bumper to bumper!
KIA solved the earlier models rough ride issue with all new dual chamber shocks.
HUGE glass roof and suroof!

Every single part of this Sorento has been changed for 2011 over the old model. Some touches of styling that are evolutions of the outgoing model are the front fender buldges, and the rear end..altho the tail lights are now bigger, now with brighter LED's too.

Weakness:

None I could find..and I'm a real picky guy! The sunroof made a squeek once, but a spritz of WD40 cured that!

I've always bought brand new vehicles. 6 Toyotas, 2 Nissans, a FIAT, Chevrolet, Dodges, our favorite is FORD!

But this KIA after a lot of research beat out the Ford, Toyota and Honda SUV/CUVs hands down.

Perfect Pearl Sow White Paint..no flaws whatsoever! The engine compartment is a work of art and triumph of engineering. The most powerful 276 hp and quickest 3.5 dual cam V6 in the class, takes off with a suprising roar of power with 0-60 in 7.4 seconds, and the KIA brand new state of the art 6 speed automatic is supurb and made right in the USA factory!

The interior has been accused of being rather mono-colored in black, but I like it..feels very european and high quality with the leather, comfortable too! Nice touches like a navigation system, 700 watt Infinity 10 speaker system with Sirius, blue tooth and voice control of all functions! Backup camera, illuminated red lighting,

Strength:

For the amount of money - features are plenty - Bluetooth; ABS; Triptronic 6 speed gear; 17" Alloy; AWD etc. - and not to mention a decent looking vehicle

Weakness:

Very poor mileage - I have a 2.4Ltd engine - OK on power but city driving - I am getting 7.4Kms/Ltr - which is 13.5 L/100Km - That is poor considering I had a 2002 Kia Van before hwich gave nearly the same mileage. - I hear some rattling from inside the Cabin - So soon - that is not good.

They need to work on Mileage - Not on paper BUT Really improve.......

nice styling

Weakness:

BRAKE SYSTEM, cheap leather seats, stereo, cheap breakable plastic.

Bought this car wanting peace of mind for it's 100,000 mile waranty. Discovered that at 20,000 my roters are warped. Was told it was driving conditions such as stop and go traffic! hah, ya right. I am a very good driveer and easy on the brakes. Besides I have owned many cars at up to 100,000 miles on them that I have never had this issue on. Kia is just all around a poor quality suv. The warrenty will not cover hardly anything that will go wrong. Buyer beware! I will never buy another Kia....buy a Ford or GM!

Strength:

We purchased because we liked the size and the ride. The cash price was good and we thought the warrenty seemed good, but read every detail for yourself. It rides smooth.Although a smaller car than our 03 Dodge Sport Van, no real gas savings.

Weakness:

In less than 1 year the paint is in need of repair because "Bird Poop" on the hood ate into the paint dispite approximately biweekly washings. A bubble on one fender, when pressed opened to the metal (small). I do not understand how paint on a new car cannot last at least one year. Not everyone has a garage. If having been told before buying that I needed a garage because the paint would not be guaranteed even at least one year I probably would not have purchased. Dealer has agreed to pay only half of the painting for just hood and fender of the car so the paint likely will not match. We have other older autos have held thier paint for years.
In addition the Steering Rack has been locking when in hard turns. Kia is changing that out now after we went to 3 Kia dealers to have checked.

I do enjoy driving the Sorento, however we have been disappointed in the service to correct the paint problem and the steering. I do not like to be a "squeaky wheel" to get done what should be easily taken care of during at least the first year of use.

Strength:

The vehicle has ample power for towing and good acceleration. Good ground clearance and a good performer in four wheel drive.

Weakness:

Replaced head lamps three times in 50,000 miles, and tail lamps twice. The ride is harder than any pickup truck I have ever driven, and harder than an R or U model Mack for that matter. The suspension reminds me of riding a Farmall M over a dead furrow. The alloy wheels are near impossible to keep from corroding on salt laden north country roads. Fuel economy is not impressive. Two door lock solenoids had to be replaced within 40,000 miles.

This Sorento is my second Kia. The first was a Sportage, with full ladder frame and front and rear differentials. The newer crossovers lack the ruggedness, but the alloy wheels were even worse on the Sportage. The Sportage had a vibration problem at about 55 mph. After replacing all four tires, rotors, wheel bearings, spindles etc. the vibration persisted. The 30,000 mile mandatory service was coming up, to the tune of about $400, so we traded it in on a Sorento. The shocker came with the $900 60,000 mile service. To replace the plugs, fuel filter, and fuel tank filter? was $600. You can buy the competitions car for about $400-$500 more, and be dollars ahead. The 100k warranty comes with very expensive service costs. Think you can change the plugs yourself? You better look into whats involved and be prepared to spend a couple of days doing it.

Looks good.

Weakness:

Steering is tight and is like driving a truck. Seat material stains easily and is cheap. Disappointed in car all around.

We bought a 2011 Sorento a month ago. Right away the car started pulling to the right. We took it to the dealer twice and the problem was NOT fixed. The service manager called me to tell me the spring coils have to be replaced. He said he called around and talked to other Kia techs and they knew wxactly what was wrong. Stated they are seeing this in 2011 Sorentos - V6 model. The srping coils are on back order. So, now I have a brand new, expensive car that is no fun to drive. If I could do it over again, I would not buy a Kia.
