Strength:

As before, more power, better handling w/ larger wheels and more aggressive tire combos. The Better: interior, seats, rear seat versatility, cup holders, storage compartments, rear compartment hidden storage areas and nothing beats the auto open rear hatch. Only my third day in-I'll update all in about a month.

Weakness:

The Worse: Some cheapening of components like the elimination of protective side cladding, flimsy bumpers, cheaper substandard audio system, poorly positioned arm rests-both sides, and the elimination of the back seat full extension floor mat- Other than that, still too early to tell

Just traded my rx 300 for the newly upgraded RX 330. Initially a bit turned off to the downgraded sound system, lack of body cladding and loosly fitted rear bumper sides. However, ride and handling are improved and overall the vehicle, now known as a Luxury Utility Vehicle, seems on track with all that Lexus has claimed. Note that early arrivals are coming in pretty well optioned with sunroof, leather, zenon lights w/ washers and larger wheels. However the radio system now available lacks the subwoofer of the earlier rx300 and has half the power 132 rather than 240 watts--making it barely Also, you might want to have them deactivate the down-turning side mirrors when in reverse option--its a real pain--and have them reprogram the sunroff to auto open and close. Otherwise a fairly nice vehicle.

Strength:

Great size, I can park anywhere, back seats fold down with ease, car like ride, plenty of power and very luxurious.

Weakness:

I can't think of any.

People ask me all the time...How do you like your car? and my response is, "Whats not to like?" This car is amasing! I love everything about it. It is the perfect SUV for a women that needs a truck but wants a car like ride. I love how easily the back seats fold down with just one hand. No other SUV in its class has that convenience. (and I looked at them all) I have every option available so I want for nothing. The fews complaints I have read about have been addressed in the new 2004 RX330. Lexus has made a great thing even better in it's new model, like a power tailgate, and I now have one on order. I can't wait!

Strength:

INTERIOR SPACE, COMFORTABLE RIDE AND DRIVE.

Weakness:

TRANSMISSION SHIFT HARD WHEN ACCELLERATING, CHEAP TIRES, TURNING RADIUS, NOT ENOUGH STANDARD FEATURES(HEATED SEATS,AUDIO CONTROLS ON STEERING WHEEL, MEMORY SEATS...ETC....

THE RX300 DRIVES AND RIDES NICE. EXCEPT FOR A FEW THINGS THE TOYOTA NEEDS TO CORRECT. TURNING RADIUS IS HORRIBLE, NEEDS TO BE TIGHTER. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS TOO HARD WHILE ACCELLERATING THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ESPECIALLY PAYING THAT MUCH FOR A LEXUS. I JUST GOT A LETTER FROM LEXUS ABOUT SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE DUE TO OVERHEATING IN THE ENGINE. THEY SAID I NEEDED TO CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 2000 MILES, WHICH IS REDICULIOUS FOR A LEXUS. SO FAR I HHAVE BEEN UNHAPPY TO THIS RX300, THIS WILL BE THE LAST CAR I BUY FROM LEXUS DUE TO THEIR POOR QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP. TOYOTA NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN AND TAKE THEIR TIME BUILDING A GOOD LUXURY CAR INSTEAD OF TRYING TO BEAT GM AND FORD FOR THE NUMBER ONE SPOT OF MASS PRODUCERS.

Strength:

POWER, FUEL CONSUMPTION. DRIVING MANNERS, SMOOTHNESS, AUTOMATIC, SILKY CHANGES-SUPERB PERFORMANCE

Weakness:

ROLLS IN BENDS, STEERING TOO LIGHT AT SPEEDS ABOVE 80 (AND WHO DRIVES THAT FAST)

I HAVE THE NEW RX-330 AND IT'S AMAZING. IT FOLLOWS THE NEW LAND CRUISER COLORADO AND CAN PUT A JEEP AND BMW TO SHAME. IT NOW LOOKS BEEFIER, HAS MORE POWER, IS BETTER OFF ROAD AND IS THOUROUGHLY REFINED. THE NEXT CAR THAT COMES CLOSE TO THIS REFINEMENT IS A RANGE ROVER WHICH COSTS TWICE AS MUCH OR AN ESCALADE WHICH DRIVES LIKE A TRUCK. SO BUY THIS CAR IN BLACK OR SILVER, AND THIS HIGH RIDING POWER MACHINE WILL LEAVE THE OTHER HI-RIDERS IN THE SLOW LANE.

Strength:

Good ride for an SUV. Build quality good from Japan, but now switched to Canada that be problematic.

Weakness:

Major engine problem if oil not changed per schedule. Lexus has extended the warranty to cover up their mistake in engine design. Cheap tires-replaced with Michelin Crosstrain that greatly improved traction and handling. Large turning radius, small gas tank and no "distance to empty" computer as on other vehicles of this class. No stability control on this rollover prone vehicle.

It's basically a pregnant Camry with a high price serviced by good dealers.

- Smooth Ride

Weakness:

- Turning Radius (I mean what were they thinking!) - Craftsmanship (1 year old and starting to fall apart around me) - Material Quality is very low - Assembly very poor - After 30000 miles the engine sounds like a hugo.

This car is a wonderful car if like pretending that you have a nice well built car. I have had 2 RX00's and unfortunately have been very unhappy with the both of them. The Quality and craftsmanship is poor to awful. It feels like the car was built in a hurry and is EXTREMELY overpriced. I can say that for any Lexus though. Toyota needs to mature there product to the likes of BMW, Mercedes, rover ECT. There really isn’t anything I like about this car. It’s a piece of garbage with a hefty price tag.

Strength:

Great handling, very smooth luxury ride, more spacious than I thought. Easy entry exit.

Weakness:

some of the controls are confusing and inconvenient. CD changer, turning circle, with all of these things it's still a great vehicle.

Those who hate this car are simply looking for something else. The RX300 gives you space and versatility. It is not an off road vehicle. The 220 HP is more than enough, how fast do you want to go. It also was not meant to tow a motor home.

Strength:

Smooth ride, excellent on gas (for an SUV). That's all I can say for now.

Weakness:

Very small inside, handles curves horribly.

You feel like you are driving on air. It is a wonderful vehicle, however, when I took a curve I thought the car was going to roll over (and NO I was not going too fast). I have a black on black RX (black exterior and interior) and I must say.... Although it looks beautiful and stunninng at night, I have about a million scratches. You cannot prevent them. Someone will scratch your car or the smallest anyhting will get you. I have to clean it atleast once every 4 days!! Other than that, Lexus is wonderful and they treat you well. They have excellent service departments and even wash your car when you get it serviced (that may not seem like a big deal until you get a balck car).

Jeep Cherokee (HORRIBLE, poorly made). A luxury car, especially with the quality of a Lexus is worth every cent... I mean dollar.

SUPERB REFINEMENT AND LOTS OF EQUIPMENT. LOVELY PERFORMANCE, AND OH! THE NAKAMICHI STEREO RULES!!!

Weakness:

NOT STRONG OFF ROAD, ROLLS A BIT TOO MUCH SOMETIMES IN CORNERS, STEERING TOO LIGHT AT HIGH SPEEDS

iT IS AN EXTREMELY SMOOTH CAR, VERY COMPETANT ON THE ROAD, AND SHAMES MANY SPORTS SALOONS AND LIMOS. TUNED FOR CITY AND CRUISING USE RATHER THAN OFFROAD USE. bEAUTIFULLY BUILT INSIDE AND OUT, WONDERFULLY DESIGNED, EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY, AND BRISTLES WITH NEW TECHNOLOGY. OUTS A MERC TO SHAME, AND COMES CLOSE TO ANY X5. PUTS ALL THE HUGE V8 AND V10 TRUCKS PERFORMANCES TO SHAME. BEATS ANY CHEAP ACURA ANYDAY (which is just an overgrown honda). PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST OFF-ROAD VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. EXCELLENT REFINEMENT-220-BHP COMES EFFORTLESSLY
