Strength:

Everything mentioned above

Weakness:

Battery dies when I don't use it in a while

I own an H2.
I own a Yukon Denali XL.
I've owned a Yukon Denali.
I've borrowed a Cadillac Escalade.
The Lincoln Navigator beats all of these hands down. It has a lot better response than the other vehicles and with a 6 spd transmission it can get up and go in a hurry. But allow me to elaborate upon the amenities that make it so endearing. Automatic running boards, power 3rd row seats, power lift gate, DVD player, THX sound system with different sound settings, navigation system, touch screen LCD display that pops up to reveal the in dash 6 disc changer, and all of that can be hidden with the pull down Lincoln Navigator flush cover, second row captains seats, homelink to program up to 3 garage door openers, heated AND COOLED seats, driver seat memory, adjustable pedals, power everything, high intensity lights, sunroof, back up sensors, steering wheel audio controls... did I forget anything? Plus I love the opaque white color.

I would give the nod to the Escalade and even the Infiniti QX 56 as far as looks, but I can't believe that they would offer the comforts of the Navigator.

Big enough to survive in a wreck.

Weakness:

Everything else!!

I owned a 2000 and at 50ooo miles things went to crap. Thought maybe by 2003 they would improve. I hit 60 ooo miles and now everything is going to hell. Coolent hoses are junk will cost 500 to replace, car idles funny, stalls for 1-2 seconds when starting to accelerate from a stop, ignition key no longer comes out of ignition, and now my front air shocks dont work. Approx 1500 to fix. I WILL NEVER BY A LINCOLN OR FORD PRODUCT AGAIN THEY ARE A JOKE!!! Right after warrenty expires they go to crap. Honda and toyota here I come. F american built cars, they are not as reliable as the foreign ones.

Strength:

The Navigator uses the best materials. On the interior of a Navigator, you will fing real wood and real leather. On the Hummer H1, you feel like you are in a plastic box it is used so much. All the power conviniences such and power running boards, liftgate, steering, navigation, rear sensor device, DVD entertainment package. And you have all the power to get up and go.

Weakness:

None

The 2007 Lincoln Navigator is by far the most luxurious Sport Utility Vehicle on the market.

Strength:

No other problems at this time

Weakness:

Dealer can't identify the problem. This vehicle shuts off going around corners, and Will shut off and restart at 70 mph, this is a very violent action.

In Nov 05 the car started to shut off momentarily as you started to drive, it would do it only when you would take off from a stop and never at freeway speeds. This would occur 50% of the time. The dealer had it on 11-7 and replaced the Cam Position Sensor. When I picked it up on 11-8 it was worse than before. I returned it on 11-9 they returned it on 11-19 after replacing one of the coils. This helped but didn’t solve the problem, still had the hesitation leaving a stop but only happened 2-3 times in the 1st week. In the 2nd week as I slowed down for a stop it shut completely off, when I put it in neutral , turned the ignition off and back on it started. It continued to hesitate at time when you were driving in city traffic but would not shut completely off. This past week the hesitations became more frequent and on Tues 5-16 it shut down totally in heavy traffic as I turned a corner. I delivered the car back to the dealer in the afternoon, he call and said nothing could be found and could one of the techs drive it home for a test drive, I agreed. He called and reported the car runs perfect and they can't do anything if they don't know what the problem is. The car now shuts off momentarily at freeway speeds and is very violent. The car once acted like it was running on 4 cylinders and slowed down to 30 mph, after pulling over on the freeway shutting the key off it work k again. Dealer still can’t detect what is wrong in September 2006.

Strength:

Just about everything on the vehicle.

Weakness:

Rear tailgate window leaks from seal, and Having ignition/starting problems, turn the key - nothing happens after driving somewhere leaving me stranded, the next day it starts again, dealership can't diagnose the problem since now it starts and gives horrible service and warranty does not cover diagnostics unless problem is found. Pay fee's, Take it home and it doesn't start the next day again!!! More then likely will take it to independent shop for better/reliable service that isn't biased. I would buy a Lincoln again but will never take vehicle in for service there unless necessary.

Great SUV up until now, awesome luxury and everything I could expect from a high priced suv. Roomy, quiet, nice trim and comfortable seating.

Strength:

Styling, Size, Comfort - the engine itself actually has never given me issues

Weakness:

decomposing after 100k miles and the car was pretty well maintained - all scheduled dealer maintenance and oil changes

Dealer customer service sucks - tried several in my area.

Bought this car from Carmax about 3years ago and it was a great buy - luxurious, spacious, etc - all the Navigator traits.

Have to echo a few previous reviews because although I'm in CT these things happened to me as well:

>>MONEY PIT AFTER 100K miles !!! Starts with the suspension stolenoid with me, then abs sensors, coils, etc,etc

"Once it hit 100,000 miles after warranties have terminated the auto is becoming a money pit.Rear sensors just went out had to replace them to the tune of $1,000.00. The coil wires arount 5 of 8 and maybe another one have failed at $500.00 per coil. These were covered under warranty, however, after driving the car out of the dealership two days later another coil went. There is a serious problem with the engine on this vehicle. I love most things about it, however, for a luxury auto, I expect more and this kind of vehicle should not decompose @ 100,000 miles. Problems began around the 50,000 mile mark. "

>>HORRIBLE SERVICE FOR A LUXURY CAR DEALER !!
Every time I bring my car in to the dealer I have to question myself - am I serving them or are they serving me? Very condescending people ! Can't believe its a luxury dealership

"While I can live with the maintenance issues - after all a luxury car is going to have a lot of bells and whistles that are bound to break - I cannot tolerate the unprofessional and careless service department at my local dealership. "

I think I'm done with Lincoln and moving to Infiniti or something - as much as I like the ride, it's not worth the price premium - or the gas premium these days

Strength:

The engine is strong and pwerful. I can quickly get it to 95mph before the electronic it limits the power gain.

Weakness:

The stock tires!!!

This vehicle has been what i expected of it but poor. It rides lovely hwen it has the optimum tires and not the continental stock tires. I have not had any engine or eletrical issues as others have stated. I am in the process of upgrading the tires to 22" and other sporty accents. I am going to keep its luxury appeal while giving it a sporty appeal.

Very spacious

I purchased a 2002 Lincoln Navigator in January of 2004. After driving the car for 2 months, my wife and I noticed that whenever we applied the brakes there was a squeaking sound. I have taken the cars to the dealership on several occasions to fix this problem and they have not been able to rectify the problem. The service mechanic changed the brake pads, as well as resurface the rotors and the problem still exist. We were told the manufacturer (Ford) changed the materials they used to make the brake pads from asbestos to a metal-based product. We were then informed this change would produce intermitting squeaking. The squeaking noise has gotten considerable worse. We told to expect a squeak when applying the brakes. I am really amazed shock that factory-trained technicians cannot repair a car that is two (2) plus years. I think the answer given to us by factory-trained technicians is unacceptable. I reported this problem to the manager of the dealership and it has been several weeks since I have spoken to him. From, O’Neil Williams Baldwin, NY

Strength:

Great power, comfortable for long rides. Rear self contained entertainment systems for the children. A very comfortable truck. I love all the features.

Weakness:

Coil wires. Unreliable repair facility. No right side vision from the driver perspective to front passenger side as you are so high you cannot see an auto next to you on the right. Engine problems or catalytic converter problems. Windshield wipers come on all the time when putting turn signal on. I was under the mistaken info this was cured with an early recall.

I purchased the suv new along with an extended warranty policy. We winter in CA where the car has been serviced. While I love the car I've had serious problems with coil wires going and the dealership reluctantly replacing them and failing to replace the attached boots. The auto is barely running. Once it hit 100,000 miles after warranties have terminated the auto is becoming a money pit.Rear sensors just went out had to replace them to the tune of $1,000.00. The coil wires arount 5 of 8 and maybe another one have failed at $500.00 per coil. I love most things about it, however, for a luxury auto, I expect more and this kind of vehicle should not decompose @ 100,000 miles. Problems began around the 50,000 mile mark. I distrust the dealership in Santa Barbara. I don't know if they are crooks or just don't have a clue about how to fix this auto. I am looking for a place I can trust to repair and maintain the vehicle. No diagnostics can be done in advance on this vehicle. It has to be broken in order to detect only a specific problem. Dealership/Perry Lincoln is unable to diagnose any problems unless it is specifically broken. Very disappointing the vehicle cannot be reliably maintained. Vehicle was purchased loaded and is a 4x4. When it is running it is sensational. Thought I may have a lemon???
