Lincoln Service, MANY minor maintanance Issues!

I have a 2000 Navigator that I have had for about a year. In that time I have had a rear suspension sensor go out, an ABS sensor go out, rubber seals between front and back doors warp and crack, heated seats go out, and continental tire problems. In addition, the service at my local dealership is not what one would expect from a luxury auto maker. However, with all of that said I still love my Navigator. The ride is great, the engine is powerful (32 valve), and the stylings of the Nav is unique in the luxury SUV market. While I can live with the maintenance issues - after all a luxury car is going to have a lot of bells and whistles that are bound to break - I cannot tolerate the unprofessional and careless service department at my local dealership. My brother-in-law has a Navigator and an Infiniti I-30. The Infinite dealership treats him like a King! On the rare occasions that his Infiniti needs service he is always given a top of the line replacement car to drive, the dealership makes sure to call him periodically throughout the day to give him updates, they clean his car inside and out, and they are generally courteous and respectful. The Lincoln dealership, on the other hand, is non-responsive, gives you a P.O.S. Mercury Sable to drive, doesn't clean your car, and overexagerates labor times. Basically, you are treated no different than if you had brought them a Ford Escort. Someone please tell me that this is not a Lincoln problem. Someone report that their service has been excellent. I'm ready to shop around for the best Lincoln service department in my area but don't want to waste my time if they are all the same.

i have driven navigators for alittle over a year. soo far, i think they are pretty amazing. the only thing that bothers me, is its a 60,000 dollar expedition. it doesnt have more class, just a bigger price. i would definitly purchase them again.

Comfort, reliability, power and roominess. Excellent Alpine Stereo system.

Weakness:

Cargo space with 3rd seatin use.

I upgraded from a 98 Expedition XLT to a 2000 Navigator. The Navigator has more class and luxury, in addition to power. I have been very pleased with both vehicles. No problems whatsoever with either one. I highly recommend the Navigator, new or used.

Strength:

It gives you a pretty smooth ride for an SUV.

Weakness:

Too many to talk about.

Other than a Volvo, it's the worst vehicle I have ever owned. I am constantly taking it to the dealership, that doesn't know how to fix it. The first 6 months I owned it, I was at the dealership constantly. Still a year and a half into ownership, I am still trying to get it fixed. It has terrible brakes, and the door handles have fallen off twice, my list is to long to go on.

Bad transmission

I really like the Navigator but the transmission just dropped with only 48K miles on the beast--typical Ford engines?? I would BUY again only if I am guranteed not dropping a transmission in the middle of traffic!!

Drives like a bus. Hope your not in a hurry! No alarm?

WARNING BEFORE YOU BUY READ THIS! This is one of the best suv's on the market. Before I had this one I had the Mercedes M 55, which I did not like. We ordered our lincoln fully loaded. 12" Dvd, Flatscreen navigation and radio, 5 disc in dash cd, Sunroof, Everything available. We were one of the first people to get this new Flat screen navigation. The dealship had no idea how to use it, or the dvd system, and had to continually call the corperate office for advice. We have now been driving the car for over six months. We have never had any major problems with our car. Recently we found out the hard way the car is NOT equipped with an alarm. This should be a standard feature, (or offered to us at the dealership). We were parked at Toys r us. 3:00 in the afternoon. Front space by the door, upperclass neighborhood. I went in the store for 15 minutes to return something, and when I returned the tv and dvd were gone! The theif simply placed a screw driver under the door handle and popped the door open. He was able to unhook all the wires and really did no other damage to the car. Needless to say we now have an alarm. Again I think for a luxury suv, that has so much valuable equipment this should be standard. So before you drive off the lot make sure you have an alarm.

Strength:

It has a lot of space, great leather interior, 300 HP 5.4L V8 engine, great stereo system, and safety.

Weakness:

It doesn't handle very well on a turn, but oh well need to slow down a little bit.

I have been a camaro fan for a long time, and I used to hate driving an SUV. Well I decided to buy Lincoln Navigator and it is like love on first-sight. My family and I love our Lincoln Navigator. It comes with leather interior, Alpine Stereo System with 6 CD changer, power seat, window, and 5.4L V8 engine. The engine runs very smoothly and quite, so we can listen to music and have a great conversation while driving the car. The car uses a lot of gas, but oh well that's the price we have to pay for this AWESOME V8 engine and comfort. It is like paying a VIP room in a hotel. If you are a family man/woman, what are you waiting for, go to Lincoln Dealership and test drive it for yourself!

this suv has small child size middle "bucket seats". This is Borman Auto Plex idea of a joke. I don't see how anyone over four feet tall can seat in these seats
