Strength:

IRS, HID lights, Nav system and the power features(running boards, hatch, 3rd row seat). Would like to shake the hands of the engineers responsible for the interior.

Weakness:

Needs a V10 or turbo diesal.. Needs a 5 sp automatic transmission.. Since 98 you would think quality would be under control. The stock polished wheels are junk - 1st design with wheel weights on the inside. Steering wheel was shaking @ 65mph - after many attempts of wheel balancing the dealer installed new wheels. Unbelievable BRAKE dust on the front wheels.

After the auto show in 2002 I placed my order ASAP in Feb. The new look was fresh + the features won me over. IRS suspension, Navigation system, and the interior won me over. Vast improvement over my trouble prone 2000. For the weight of this vehicle handling is great. Hope to never use it but stability control offer peace of mind. Makes the Escalade interior/ergonomics look cheap. Ultimate model fit my needs. Vehicle pulls my trailer with ease. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of Fords supercharged edition.

Strength:

Comfort beyond expectation, handles great, good pick-up.

Weakness:

Not for off road

The 5.4 V8 get 14-17 MPG mazda boy. (girl) The only thing that you can do to overcome your poverty mantality is to hate everyone else who has more than you. The Lincoln Navigator is a luxury car and I own one because my Wife and kids are safer in a tank than a crackerjack box for a car. Mazda Who? Why don't you test drive one and feel the comfort. Perhaps the holesin the road are to hard on your back in your disposable ford car. Yup mazda is a ford company just like Lincoln. I just paid more money for more car. Don't let the man get you down. See you in the fast lane.

Strength:

handling, body

Weakness:

A/C, Audio system, some part of the engine - no need to go to details.

The Lincoln Navigator is a Great Car. It handles very well and does exactly what it's supposed to do. HOWEVER, this car, like most other American cars, is full of problems. I changed the Audio system twice. The Climate Control unit broke three times. There was an overheating problem. The cost of maintenance is very high. For those talking about hitting other cars and smashing it, you better take your Navigator and go to a third world countrywhere no law governs the road. If u r in the market for a luxury SUV, there nothing beyond the Lexus LX, GX and RX. The new Nissan and Infinitis are great, but Nissan has some engine problems.

listen mr. elephant a**hole, i have had 3 navigators so far and they are amazing. Just because you can't afford a navigator is no reason to hate them. The statement: there are those who travel, and those who travel well, ARE CORRECT. go throw up over your little mazda. IF my navigator hit your car you'd most likely be dead. Let me just say that in my past 2 navigators i got into major accidents. 1. a bellatlantic truck smashed into me while at a red light, the car had some damage but if it wasn't for the weight of the car we would have been pushed into ongoing traffic, plus the size of the car saved my daughter. 2. A pile up of cars smashed into me, the slam sounded like an elephant had hit, i got out and looked, not one dent! Just to some it up the navigator is a dream car, don't mess with it

Strength:

It could be used in the circus.

Weakness:

It's not big enough. It should be larger and use up more gas.

To all the reviewers of this oversized, gas guzzling, elephant on wheels that are not happy with it, I have little sympathy for you. This boat represents everything that's wrong with vehicles and drivers today. Most Navigator and large SUV owners can be found hogging up the left lane of traffic holding everyone up oblivious to the world around them. This vehicle serves no purpose except to guzzle gas. It's slow, doesn't handle, and is a piece of crap. And about 12mpg! What a joke! Anyone that can appreciate the joy of driving would pick a luxury sedan over this elephant. Every time I see one on the road, I want to vomit on it. Even if I was a millionaire I'd never buy a Navigator or any oversized gas guzzling pathetic SUV. The only reason people buy them is b/c they have the delusion of safety in them and need to sit up nice and high to feel good about themselves....so sad. I'll take my fun little Mazda Protege ES over ANY SUV any day.

Strength:

Beautiful exterior, sharpest SUV on the road. Looks like a million bucks. Interior room is great. When air suspension works the ride is superb. When air conditioning works it will freeze you out of the vehicle. Upgraded stereo sounds amazing. Seats are great. Fit and finish is suprizingly good with my Nav. My black Nav. is a chick magnet.

Weakness:

Way underpowered. Weighs a ton, therefore mine gets on average 9.3 mpg. I use the vehicle for business and travel mostly on interstates, so 9.3 mpg really sucks. Cost of maitenance. Can't keep idiots from hitting it with their doors when parked.

If you're looking for a SUV with plenty of appeal then Navigator is for you. If you're looking for a SUV that will break the bank with maintenance cost Navigator is for you. I've paid $2,000 out for repair on Automatic Temperature Controls (HVAC). Replaced 2 Rear Air Suspension Modules @ Approx. $750 each. Continential Tires wear out at 30,000 miles. Oil change and tire rotation at local dealer $50.00, Tires $134.78 each, worthless extended warranty until 100,000 miles $2,173.00. Endless frustration with this truck = PRICELESS. Forget to mention that paint on roof of cracking in about 30 places. Lincoln must have painted it with Kyrlon spray paint. Lincoln offers great innovations, made with poor technology. First Lincoln vehicle I've purchased.....last one I'll ever own.
