Strength:

Fun to drive -- has great handling and pick-up! It''s 1 inch shorter and only 4 inches wider than a Honda Civic, so it''s just as easy to drive and to park. And the height is great, especially compared to the extremely low Civic...it makes it much easier to see in traffic, and it''s nowhere near as flood-prone, and it''s still easy to get in and out of (even for a 5''6" woman).

Weakness:

1) Stalled once, when it was only 9 days old...holding my breath to see if it happens again. 2) A/C control design doesn''t allow you to blow A/C at your feet -- if you turn the knob to direct it at your feet, you only get outside air. This is a big problem in Houston, TX.

Weaknesses aside, I love my Tribute!

The car is allright but the dealer sucks !!! I got ripped off. They included a bunch of hidden charges on my contract and when I complained to them they said ''tough luck !!''. I then complained to Mazda and they said they could not do anything about it. I should have bought the Ford Escape. I will never bought another car from Mazda and specially Ahaheim Mazda & Hundai

We''re having tons of problems with our new mazda tribute. First there was a squeak in the steering wheel and now there is a major leak in the body. Our floor boards are completely soaked. The inside of our car smells like mildew. We brought it in to get repaired. It took them 4 days to repair it. In the mean time they gave us a dirty little Toyota Corolla to rent. After the first rainfall upon our return of the car our floor boards are soaked yet again. I would like to know what Mazda is going to do about this.

Strength:

Excelleration is awesome!V6-24 valve (peppy for SUV) Drives like a car not a truck. 6-disk CD changer delivers awesome sound through its 5 speakers and rear Sub! Hints:Start and let warm up for a minute or so. Use Premium fuel if your pocket book allows and regaurdless of what the book says change the oil every 3000 miles.

Weakness:

Alright aready! the gear shift isnt located in the best place, but it was in the same place when you bought it.No problems with excellent care.

When I first test drove this machine, the punch was awesome from the start. WOW! What pick up from the get go! Im sure im up there in miles with the best of them with 34K already being that I drive 105 miles a day minimum 5 days a week.I unlike alot of these previous reviews have had one problem and that is the coolant light stays on. Dealer said its common and they will fix it as soon as I bring it in.No problems other than that. Awesome performance for an SUV under $24K Absolutely love it! Oh.. It may cost a little more but only Premium unleaded and if you can find it, 5w20 sinthetic works great!!

Strength:

Style and reliability.

Weakness:

Gear shiffter is too long and the heater sometimes blows in defrost when set to foot.

I love the ride, much better than the other truck like SUV''s. Handling is more like a car then a truck with excellent acceleration. Plenty of interior room with better styling than the Escape. Having the change in the dash rather than the trunk is a plus. Did not like the price plus the added $2000 premium but, with the S-Plan and no premium, it was very affordable.

Strength:

Flexible space, very fast, easy to drive, 2nd seat very functional with 60/40 split, tie downs everywhere,

Weakness:

little wind noise from outside mirrors,

I give this vehicle 5 stars after a rocky start, We picked up the "first" one on Sunday afternoon but by Wednesday the 3.0 V-6 seized, terminal. Mazda let us pick a second one with EX and 4 x 4. What a dream. 4 1/2 months 7,000 miles and one oil change. Fast, smooth, great stereo, flexible space for a home based business. I recommend that you get one today.

Strength:

Leather interior, powerful motor, electronic 4x4 system, looks a whole lot better than a Escape, more stylish. Better fuel economy than a Ford Explorer and other midsize SUV''s

Weakness:

Gas milage is a little more than I expected.. But if I wanted to be fuel saving I could have bought a 2.0 liter version instead. Not one other problem otherwise.

We went looking around at all the other smaller sized SUV''s (Sold in Sweden), tested the CRV, Rav4, Freelander, Sante Fe, and finally the Tribute, once behind the wheel during the test drive, I did not want to take it back to the dealer. Ended up ordering one about a month later.

Strength:

Lot of power, price, lot of compartments for storing stuff

Weakness:

Wind noise and I hate the gear shifter, should have been floor mounted. The colors are not as nice as Ford escape

Paid $100 over invoice. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn''t because of the color and wind noise but it is worth the money (less than 20K after the 400 rebate I got from Mazda and not including the destination charge)

Weakness:

Wind noise! Shifter position gets in the way of radio.

We had looked at all the smaller SUV''s My wife liked the Ford Escape, but I did not care for to much for the interior finish and unconfotable drivers seat. I test drove a Tribute and the differences were obvious, better seats (get the power seat!!) and fabric and in my opinion a smoother ride. Better dash design, with the exception of the AT shifter. The LX has everything you need! Space, plenty of power, decent fuel economy (better than Blazer, Liberty or Cherokee), and better warranty, at a great price. 7200 miles and one oil change from a cross country trip and we have not had a problem. Mazda dealers provide outstanding service and follow up. We love it!
