For the most part has been a good vehicle. Currently have 111K miles. Have experienced the same problems I see others are having including:
* Driver's Door Sag (replaced bushings)
* Transfer Case (grabbing in front end)
* Wheel Hubs (have replaced both)
* Passenger Door (won't open from inside)
* Hood release cable (not functioning)
* Flasher unit clicking constantly (but lights working properly)

Strength:

Looks nice, rides great, has everything you want in a vehicle as far a features. Love the heated seats.

Weakness:

Doesn't shift all that great, don't trust the AWD.

I bought the vehicle used with 47K on it. I owned it for 8 months before it started going downhill. First, changed transfer case fluid ($280), replace several lights, fuel pump(which left me stranded on I-80, $115), replaced something with the suspension $250), have had problems putting it in gear from park, clicking in my dash, which we don't know what it is, now..I am replacing the transfer case fluid for the second time after 8 months. It seems to me like this bravada is a money pit.

We have not found any

Weakness:

poor engineering, cheap parts, completely unreliable

Truly the worst 4X4 we have ever owned. The problems started from day 1 and so far this truck has cost us a fortune repairing GM's defective parts. Of the $3,000 paid out so far they have all been due to lack of quality parts and GM will not acknowledge any responsibility or provide even partial compensation. We have under 60,000 miles on the vehicle and we have spent more on this than all the import cars and truck we have owned in the past 15 years.

Great acceleration, ride, handling and looks.

Weakness:

Overly-complex electrical and mechanical systems set you up for the fall later. But isn't that all American-made vehicles these days? The key is to either buy a Bravada with high miles so you get it cheap and all the big repairs have already been made, or buy an expensive one and put less than 30-40,000 miles on it and sell it before something big DOES happen.

So far I really like the Bravada. I bought it with a little over 81,000 miles for $6300! Naturally, it had the famous transfer case shudder, so I had both the filter and Auto Trak fluid replaced. Seems the transfer cases were sealed shut with a silicon caulking that breaks off over time and gums up the filter. Now works entirely fine. Also replaced the alternator, right front wheel bearing, lower ball joints and serpentine belt...all covered by the warranty I purchased! I've read lotsa bad news on the Bravada, along with all other GM cars from the recent past....that's why you wait a few years and get them for $6300! In return for the low payments, you'll have to put up with repairs. My Bravada was $33,000 new...the $27,000 I saved will pay for a lot of repairs!!!!

Strength:

Snow capability top notch, nice leather, not too big, good purchase price for a 2 year old vehicle that had become a quasi-orphan (so long, Olds)

Weakness:

Questions about reliability of 4WD drivetrain, front wheel bearings, ball joints; driver door after 2 years sagged so bad we had to have hinge bushings replaced. (Did we open and shut the door too many times?)

Cushy but cramped on the inside, but a nice ride. Great in Wisconsin snow. Switch gear, other plastic pieces kind of cheap for a vehicle that was originally north of $30,000. Bought 01 Bravada 2 years old as a lease return with 27K, at 36K (just after warranty expired) had both front wheel bearings replaced. Dealer did not charge us. Also had fuel injector problems & check engine light (60K), and now (80K) we just started getting shuddering pulling in and out of driveway (transfer case fluid change?).

Strength:

Lot's of power.

Weakness:

Very poor engineering.

My vehicle had 34,000 miles on it when purchased in 2003. At 38,000 miles the transfer case started to shudder badly. The dealer told me they needed to fill the transfer case with new fluid, drain it, and refill it to fix the problem. They also told me this is part of normal maintenance and would not cover it under the exteneded warranty. Over the last year the transfer case shudder comes and goes until last week the Service AWD light came on steady. There goes another grand. Other problems include rear wiper motor failure, trim everywhere has fallen off or come loose, headlights flickering on bumpy roads, door hinges rusting out, rear hatch rusting out, rough engine idle. All of this happened at less that 44,000 miles. I refuse to take this vehicle on long trips as I am afraid I will get stranded. This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned. GM should be ashamed they have never fixed the problems that have been around for several years. Anyone considering a Bravada better have a lot of free time and money to spend at the repair shop.

Nice looking and has numerous options.

Weakness:

Had to replace both lower ball joints and one of the idle arm assemblies, all 4 rotors were rusted and pitted causing the thing to shake when applying the brakes, front end shakes and engine idles rough when turning the vehichle when stopped or backing up and the head lights continue to go out and come back on when they want and the vehichle only had 34,000 miles when all the problems started.

Vehichle certainly has every option available but the problems by far out way the options.

EVERYTHING!!

Two weeks after I bought car the handle on the seat broke, within the next two months, the rear end came out on it, the heat pump went, the ball joint went, while on a trip to Myrtle Beach (just to let you know were I live thats a 14 hour trip) the blinker noise inside the vehicle would not shut off, the last straw was in the third month when it had to be taken away on a roll back because it would not run and the dealership or Oldsmobile would not do anything for me not even a loaner. As far as I am concerned they are JUNK!!!!
