Strength:

Not one single problem for two years! Marvelous off road. Huge loading capacity.

Weakness:

The A/C is not as refined as you would expect from a car at this level.

Excellent quality product but maybe a little boring. This is our first SUV so on the other hand we have nothing to compare with. Our opinion is that you need at least one more car in your garage and that one should be fun to drive.

Strength:

-World reknowned durability -Possibly the most reliable vehicle ever made? -Comfortable (yet simplistic) interior -Plenty of cargo room -leaf springs and straight axles -4x4 prowess!

Weakness:

-most people think it's pretty ugly -4x4 hi-gear tranfer doesn't work (loose wire is what i'm thinking) -the a/c squeals occasionally (but never quits!) -getting a little bit of rust bubbles in a few areas around the wheel wells, but no biggie as of now

What a vehicle! My family has owned this truck for over five years and it has proved to be one of the best vehicle purchases we have ever made. The only thing that has EVER gone wrong with this tank is the alternator went out(less than 200 dollar fix), and it could currently use a front stabilizer (40 dollar part), the AC sometimes squeals as it's been doin for years but hey, it's never quit on me!

Strength:

Very comfortable and safe

Weakness:

type come with the car is not that great. Need to change it if you are on the rough road all the time like me.

I just have this L/C Cygnus for a month and I found that it is the best SUV I have ever have. I own the a New Pajero before this one. I have the Pajero for 2 year and the gear box just gone. I need drive my car Hong Kong to Mainland China all the time. The road condition in Mainland China is not that great and the road somehow is rough. This L/C never give me any trouble at all. I also need to put gas in China and the gas in China is not what we have in Hong Kong. Kind of low grade petrol that in some case really bad for the engine. The L/C have no trouble with it as well.

Strength:

Safety Full time 4-wheel drive Awesome ride down the road Powerful V8 Fully loaded, making driving a pleasure again.

Weakness:

GAS MILEAGE. But hey, if you can afford to buy one, what''s a few more trips to the gas station.

Execllent SUV. I purchased this vehicle 2 months ago with only 7000 miles on it. Full time 4 wheel drive is great for driving in the Colorado snow. My wife is the primary driver and is absolutely in love with the Land Cruiser

Strength:

Ride, Build quality, Safety record, History of reliability. Your driving the same car as the neighbor with the Lexus, but paid $15,000 less!

Weakness:

Lack of convenience features.

If your looking for superior ride and handling, occupancy safety, travel comfort, and excellent build quality-this car is for you! (I''ll leave "looks" and dealer service out of the review-this is all based off personal taste and experience.) But after the intial "honeymoon stage" wore off-like most relationships- we found things WE would add and overall enhance the car to increase the "price:value" ratio(After all, you are paying $50-$60K). Obviously these features will not be important to everyone, but many SUV''s offer similar bells and whistles at much lower prices. To name a few: Automatic door locks when traveling-not available, "Horn" sound signaling vehicle is locked when remote key is -not available, Memory seats-not available, MPG computer-not available (we have the GPS system etc... Summary: We love our LC after 3 months due to the excellent ride, handling, and style. It would be nice if Toyota would polish and refine the interior by offering more convenience features on the vehicle to justify the high sticker price. Even Toyota has introduced new SUV''s in the US market which has actually cannabalized the LC sales. It will be interesting to see if Toyota retains the LC in coming years, or Lexus takes over the line completely.

Strength:

power, reliability, comfort, spacious (compare to others)

Weakness:

PRICE was a biggy for me, but worth it. My husband shopped around before buying one and finally arrived at a dealers that was selling one and for the right price.

I got my landcruiser for graduation, Nursing school, last year. I have always wanted a landcruiser. I road in one a few years ago and thought it was the most comfortable vehicle ever. The power it has behind it was extraordinary. The room was exceptional and not to mention the amount of people you fit into it. the off road terrain was great as well.

Great off road capabilities, imprsevie suspension travel, great resale value, good power, exelent ride super smoth in rough roads wiht les noises than i expected, still has the rear loking diff,,

Weakness:

too expensive,, some interior noises when driving on pavement but superisingly go away on ruff roads, would like a telescopic stering wheel, fuel economy, very crapy stock tires, very bad soung system for bass

This is a great suv,, prefered the old look alittle more but just salp on some bigger tires and it looks fine, build quality is impresive and of course its a toyota ,, then we can expect it to last forever

Strength:

Ride quality on freeways at high speed is great. I was cruising at 90 mph on the 405 last week, and it was a safe solid feeling unlike my previous Expedition. Theinterior is quiet, and makes conversations possible even at high speed. The fit and finish is wonderful. Seats are very comfortable even on lengthy drives. Motor has good torque, but it would be a whole lot nicer with +20 hp.

Weakness:

Interior rattle in console, that cannot seem to be located. Front brakes were replaced yesterday at 2800 miles due to a warped rotor - new rotors and pads. That was a dissappointment, one that I did not expect from a high end SUV. I kive in a hilly area, but even my old Expedition, that was not known for brakes got 12000 miles. Hope it was a defective rotor, and not an ongoing maintenance issue. Gas mileage around town is 12 mpg...hideous, but expected.

Overall, still very happy with the truck. The build quality is incredible, and I have never owned a tighter feeling SUV. Seats 8 easily, (three kids in the back row).Quiet, responsive and looks cool!

Strength:

Very cabible off road (even better after 6" lift and 35" tyres)after compareing other brands and styles i remained with Landcruisers after all i know how reliable they are (have owned 9 FJ 40S and 2 FJ 80s ) and the 80 series is a well built 4x4

Weakness:

Fuel consumption 15mpg (highway)at 89 cents per litre but is worth it at the end of the day , not for the city commuter

having rebuilt and sold numerous landcruisers over aprox 10 years and needed a later model vehicle for work and family as wife will not let me take her Pajero offroad and the kids dont fit in our FJ 40 Softtop
