Strength:

I love the functions on the truck, more luxury than my CLK Mercedes.

Weakness:

An annoying rattle in the radio area.

Very easy to use and drive.

Strength:

Space, ride, storage and conversion features. OnStar with Personal Calling is great for my purposes. That 3 watt power will talk in Mexico where I hunt when hand held radios won't. I don't understand the power complaints, 0-60 in less than 9 sec. What truck does all that the AV does and accelerate better? My mileage is 12 / 16 mpg about what can be expected of a vehicle this size.

Weakness:

Minor rattle in the dash that bugs me; however nothing that has required a trip to the dealer in 14,000 miles.

I don't care much about the esthetics of a vehicle. I want it to function for my needs, be comfortable and big. The AV does all of that easily

Strength:

Clever storage, Luxurious interior, Good handling.

Weakness:

Ugly plastic cladding (has been improved in newer models)

I too was one who intially hated the exterior of the Avalanche, but that changed after a few months. This SUT is smart and functional. Absolutely love all the storage, especially the side lock boxes located on both sides of the bed. My Z71 has handled great in all kind of weather an driving conditions. Whether you are camping out in the woods, or on a night out in the city, this truck is definently on of the most versatile vehicles out there.

Strength:

Smooth comfortable ride. Design features emphasizing versatility and comfort. Efficient quiet engine (for the size).

Weakness:

Unique design characteristics draw detractors, but my feeling is everyone will begin copying some of the most criticized features.

Chevy designers put a lot of thought into creating a truck with ultimate versatility and the comfort of a luxury sedan. Whether you're carrying a load of drywall, your buddies skis, or taking your honey out on the town, the AV will do the job.

Strength:

Pick up truck or SUV - your CHOICE! Handling / Comfort / Smooth Ride.

Weakness:

None

First year the Avalanche came out I swore I would never own one. They definitely grow on you and now that GM has darkened the cladding it looks even better. Solid vehicle and best riding Chevy ever. Huge list of options. Beats my Tahoe hands down in versatility and rode handling.

WOW. Never thought I'd own this truck. I didn't like the looks of it so never wanted to test drive it. Someone convinced me to test it out and I did. This thing drives better than ANY other ford, chevy, dodge, etc... The looks are growing on me and now i actually like the way it looks. Try it out, you might just like it.

Strength:

STRONG. Pulled heavy trailers with ease.

Weakness:

Warrenty!! Sure it SAYS it will fix anything that wrong...bumber to bumper, etc. HA!! Try it! They wont fix it unless it is a total failure. Partial failures are NOT covered! I have a Battery with 3 bad cells that didnt hold a charge. So I had to jump start the truck every 24-36 hours. But since it was only a partial failure -- no warrenty replacement is available. The same thing happened with the fuel pump..it worked sometimes... so No warrently replacement. So much for bumber to bumper.

I love my Avalanche. For those that are in-between Suburban/Tahoe, or a crew-cab pickup, this fits perfectly.

Strength:

smooth ride. Every option none to man. very interchangable. Roomy seating. Able to trick out with accessories to look like a street truck and still maintain useability.

Weakness:

gas mileage. A bit underpowered if still stock.

Great riding truck/suv. I have the ability of a suv to haul my dogs around without the harshness of the elements and the room of a truck to transport items in the bed.

Strength:

massive intimidating size. high point of view, good coverage from side mirrors, you have to rely on them in any event. very politically incorrect. who cares? smoottttthhh ride... everybody wants to carpool in it.

Weakness:

impossible to see behind really needs a camera and tv to see. Tailgate is heavy. you have to slam it hard and yank on it to make sure it's latched and lock it with the key. the tailgate wants to plop open when you drive off... the rear compartment could use a light switch along with the dash control. this is a vehicle in which you will hunt for a large parking space. gas mileage is.... well ...you know... the commercials are a bit misleading... it takes a longer to convert to a truck... the rear glass is heavy and fragile...

A big solid smooth riding truck, quiet roomy. Exceptional ergonomics for a factory radio, no fiddling with multiple function buttons. very large rear side mirrors.Powerful engine. a worthy competitor to the humvee.

Strength:

quiet

Weakness:

some road noise

Just moved into a new house, and this vehicle swallowed everything up with ease. It was a true work horse. The best part about it was after the move was over, converted it back to an SUV took the gang for pizza and beer. What a concept! I Love It! Will never go back to a regular pickup
