Strength:

Enough power when equiped with the 4:10 rearend. Excellent looking, and fun to drive. Versatile pickup/suv type with the ability to do most anything needed of either type vehicle. Did I mention, you just look great driving this machine !!...... http://mysporttrac.com

Weakness:

A little windnoise, but very tolerable based on the type or vehicle.

The Sport-Trac is a very versatile vehicle. On my new Michelins the ride is smooth (especially for a truck of this size) but still can handle mild off roading. There are lots of standard features: power windows including the back window, door locks, privacy windows,4 wheel ABS, securilock, adjustable safety belts, indash and cargo area power, berber floor mats, power mirrors, speed sensitive int.wipers

Model Reviewed: Explorer Sport Trac

Strength:

Unique body and style. Unique rear window that goes down vertically with a large rear view. Great for circulating air with moonroof open.

Weakness:

A slight sway when entering and exiting. I blame it on the stock shocks and soft tires.

Very happy with this purchase. I had a choice to choose what vehicle I wanted and I chose the Sports Trac with no regrets. I recommend it to only to those that get excited by looking at just the styling lines of the ST. I know I do!

Strength:

View-of-the-road, power back-window, truly short (4') bed, lots of tie-downs & power-ports, full back seat, moonroof, not too big.

Weakness:

No recirculating-air option in heat/vent modes. 15-16 mpg (city) a bit low. A few squeeks/rattles. Slightly pricey.

Consumer Reports August issue has it pretty head-on. Of all the "quad-cabs" this is the best of the bunch... best ride, best leg-room, best power, low interior noise, terrific cockpit, bike/refig/tree-hauling ability. Unique rear-seat A/C and radio controls, and one-of-a-kind, high-silled short bed. Perfect family AND wknd warrior SUV, but don't buy if you really need an enclosed storage-cabin (i.e.pets, luggage, seating for 5+, are COMMON) - then get an Explorer or Trailblazer, etc.

Strength:

Read Steve, Heather, and David's reviews for info.

Weakness:

Any PUNK that rates the ST 1 star doesn't own one!!!!!!!

Drive it and you'll buy it. There are no true competitors for the Sport Trac. Read some of the reviews on the next few pages for VERY informative info, especially ones from Steve in New Orleans, Heather in Texas, and David from Georgia. Those are GREAT reviews and I agree with them all, didn't feel like writing that much so they saved me the effort! As long as Ford makes it I will buy it.

Strength:

Everything, would like to see a V8 in the 2003 model though.

Weakness:

None yet, I bought the extended warranty to cover myself incase of any American made gremlins rearing their ugly head!

Just ordered but drove plenty before purchasing. The best SUT on the road today, stunning design and functionality. The best hybrid to be built since the viper and prowler. Congrats FMC! Looked at the Avalanche and it was horrendous, had potential but the same guy that designed the Aztec must have been given a second chance unfortunately. for the price you pay the ST is loaded with features, more so than it's competitors.

Strength:

4 doors, a deep bed, power rear window, great V6, and smooooth AT.

Weakness:

some squeaks, like the brit dude said, buy a lexus if you don't want squeaks and then you can look like all the other soccer moms on the road.

All the frontier, dakota, tacoma, and avalanche owners need to go back to their boards. you can still trade in your 4door sut's for a sport trac, don't be jealous. why complain about gas mileage???????? if you want good gas mileage buy a freakin 4 cylinder!!!!!!!!! maybe the Xterra with the 4 cylinder will do you good, if not ride the bus or buy a damn bike! the ST is hot, and you can add ALOT of accessories and make it look EVEN better. take your one star rating and put it where the sun don't shine. the ST rules!
