Model Reviewed: ranger xlt quad cab

Strength:

torque is good, body style is great

Weakness:

Mileage is worse than a high performance sports car

I have enjoyed my truck in the 2 years I have owned it. No problems pulling the boat, even had a friend tell me he couldn't feel it behind as he drove. and with the tall rearend it doesn't do too bad off the line.

Model Reviewed: XL 2.3 liter 5-speed manual trans.

Strength:

Reliable, strong, good gas mileage, uses no oil.

Weakness:

Original tires poor, not aligned at factory

Purchased new, now has over 70000 miles. Wonderful experience. One caveat is for the new purchaser to get new tires soon and get an alignment. My Ranger was far out of alignment from the factory. Only one evaporative solenoid sensor has needed replacement, otherwise, a rock solid truck. It uses no oil and runs as smoothly as it did when new. Works well on dirt roads, and pavement.
