Strength:

4x4 capabilities! What a great little truck, this thing can literally go anywhere, there were a few times when I thought I was stuck for sure, but this thing pulled me through.
Sturdy truck, road travelling is great too, gas mileage is ok.

Weakness:

I'm not a single guy anymore, there's just not enough room with this regular cab step side.

Nothing but good things. I've not had any problems thus far with this truck. Outside of oil and filter changes, I've not put any money into this. I've had this vehicle from 98 till 2001 and felt great every minute driving it. Ford was great about notifying me regarding the Firestone tire issue.

Strength:

Good gas mileage($20 to fill it up)..cheap insurance..smoothe ride for a truck. looks nice.

Weakness:

Lack of power...rear end jumpy on bumps. Lost the new car smell pretty quickly(bummer)

So far I love this truck..No problems yet(hope not..only have 700 miles on it) The 4cylinder is a little sluggish, but what do u expect from it. It keeps up with traffic on and off the freeway with no problem.

Strength:

gas mileage is pretty good, alot of room, very dependable truck.

Weakness:

the back seats are not very big and there is not very much room back there. the a/c is not doing so great. Those are the only problems.

i like this truck so far, haven't had many problems with it except for it died on me once, but hasn't since. It has 110,000 miles on it. The body is in very great shape. It has pretty good power for just being a 2.9L. All in all it is a very good truck and it gets me to where i want to be.

Power, strength,and durablity

Weakness:

spins alot when the pavement is wet, origanilly tacked out at 85 mph

What else can I say I love this truck. It has 127,000 miles on it and the only major thing I have changed is the starter 100 miles ago. My 4.0 V-6 has plenty of power and with a few mods, like Ram-Air hood with K&N filters,my truck can run with the Mustang GTs.There is plenty of leg room in the front. The styling is the best of other mini-trucks.The Chevy S-10s cant't even compare the the rangers. If you want to look good with little money I would buy this.

Strength:

Can get me out of anything, I've never been stuck and looks great.

Weakness:

Needs more acceleration and a bit more power.

Well I love this truck! I've only had it a while but I love it, just which I could fine out more ways to give it power since I only a 2.9L V6, but I've put a K&N filter in it and a flowmaster cat-back exhaust. I need more power considering I just put a 3 inch body lift....

Strength:

Good looking. Decent ride quality.

Weakness:

This thing is slow!!!!!!!! Gas mileage should be better for a 4cyl. Did I mention that my leg goes numb while driving in the mountains of NE PA??? Have to keep your foot to the floor to get the thing to move. Good luck trying to get any money on trade-in. Should have kept my Mustang!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall I like this truck. It rides fairly good on highways as long as there are no hills. The 2.5L 4 cyl could use more power, but the engine does have potential (have already done some mods and they have helped). The gas mileage is the same as my 2000 V6 Mustang. I should have kept that car, but i needed something that is cheaper on insurance. If you are going to get one, get the V6. Next time I am getting an Impreza WRX, quite possibly the world's most perfect car!!

durability , good on gas , just a solid truck.

Weakness:

idler pulley made of plastic, oem is steele. not alot of aftermarket parts easily accessable.

Great!! It has 182000 miles on it and never left me sitting. The only parts I've replaced are the master cylinder and the right front brake rotor also the idler pulley . great on gas but it is the 4 cylinder. I have'nt exactly kept up on the maintanance.Less than 6 oil changes in its life. still runs great

Strength:

Has enough power to keep you from getting stuck and is tough enough to take on what you put in its way.

Weakness:

Not good for raceing gets wasted off the line by almost everthing maybe becuse its and auto and only 4cly.

This 1984 Ford Ranger 2wd 2.3lt 4cly truck has proven its self time and time again it belongs to a 17 year old that drives it to where most car's would just snap under the presure. Its gets fair gas millage desent top speed not all that good low end power. It has been through winters and summers outside the hole time and still dose what is built relibilty. It can be pounden on for ever and work just as it did when you started.
