Strength:

small V-8 is amazingly powerfull and good on gas

Weakness:

The windshied fogs up a little to much in colder weather

This truck has been very good to me. It is a good performer with a small V 8 engine. It is a 4x4 and is good so far in snow and also slick spots of ice. It is dependable and looks very nice. Has lots of room inside for 3 grownups. I am very pleased with this truck and recomend it highly.

I had the dealer put on a larger set of tires (265x70x16)Better Ride and they look more aggressive on the vehicle. Definitely recommend the 5300 Vortec V8 with the 3:73 Limited Slip Differential. Great looks and smooth ride. Kudos to GM they have produced a solid truck!

Weakness:

Needs stronger braking to stop this big boy. Traction control should not be an option.

I always wanted a full size pick up truck but I couldn't make up my mind what to choose since there are som many Full Size to choose from. I looked at the Toyota Tundra, Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado 1500. They are all nice trucks to choose from, but for some reason when my Fiance and I drove out to look at a GMC Sierra, the both of us just fell in love with this truck. It's just everything we ever wanted anywhere from 4 wheel ABS braking to a large extended cab where we can utilize a lot of room in that back. It's the perfect truck.

Looks good.

Weakness:

Cost too much to own.

while in warrenty I had over $800 in repairs and recalls done on this vehicle, including 3 trips to the dealer to get the cruise control to work. Now 3 months after the Wrnty expired, with 21,000 miles on truck the fuel pump went out and cost over $800 to repair. The dealer told me they have been repairing 3 or 4 a week, during the warm months, and believe the cause is from alcohol based fuels, which is all that is available in my market.

POWER!!!! LOOKS!!! QUIETNESS, COMFORTABLE, 20 MILES PER GALLON, POWER!!!

Weakness:

SMALL TIRES, STERO COULD BE BETTER,

I DID ALOT OF RESEARCH BEFORE BUYINGTHIS TRUCK, I WANTED THE TUNDRA, but the back seat is like a church pew, and i have teenagers, the gm has more roon than the others in back, the dodge was primitive, [02 are betteri here butno power] the f 150 felt good. but the rear seat was samll, nad the 4.6 v 8 sucked, and everyones got one, the gm was the one, i have the 4.8 v8 but 270 horses, and an honest 20 mpg, and did i say POWER, lots of power, great seats, 4 doors, nice quiet ride, and did say POWER, handles a load well i haul mcs all over the country, and it very comfy on trips, had a slight tappet noise, changed to mobile 1 5/30 oil and it was gone. i love the lines of this truck to, looks great, i upgraded the tires to good year forteras, a yuppie suv tire but very quiet, and good in snow if you need it, went to 265s, makes the truck look bigger, 285s looked stupid in my opinion, have no regrets, gm is the best truck, might go to the duramax 2500 hd went its time, but for now im happy, and i noticed gm have better resale value, have 31.000 kms now not a problem, if you do your homework gm is the one, for the $ i tried a new 02 dodge later to compare the seats are very thin, and the 360 v8 antiquated. and no room in the back

Strength:

Smooth ride, excellent excelleration (unloaded), good looks, reliability.

Weakness:

Power steering sensor is going out. Suspension under heavy loads. Third door squeaks on rough roads.

I bought this pickup used with 37,000 miles two years ago and have since put 25,000 miles on it( 80% paved roads and 20% off-road use). I have been impressed with its performance. I haven't had any major problems to speak of and it runs as good as it did the day I bought it.

Strength:

Rides like a car...accelerates like a sports car. Gets better gas mileage than my Ford Explorer Fit and finish are superb. Completely trouble free in 31,000 miles. Great dealer service including free life of ownership oil changes and car washes. Free loaner cars if the vehicle is in for service overnight. Dealership picks up and returns the truck for normal one day service.

Weakness:

None so far

I did a lot or research before buying this vehicle consisting of checking with friends who are the owners of various makes of P/U trucks, reading reviews, and extensive test drives. The GMC wins hands down in my opinion. I ordered the truck as soon as GMC offered the fourth door on the driver''s side and took delivery in May of 2000. I ordered every option you could get on the truck with the exception of the plow package, mainly because I never wanted to look back and say "I should have got that.... I''m glad I did because the truck so far has been completely trouble free and I plan to keep it quite a while, or until I can spring $45k for the GMC Denali AWD four wheel steering model.

POWER! This truck has pulled many cars on trailers. Not small ones but BIG cars (1970 Ford Galaxie 500, 1977 Camaro, 1989 Lincoln Towncar, to name a few.) As I said this truck is also verry Reliable. It starts every morning with out fail. I would say that this truck is practicaly bullet proof

Weakness:

Gas mileage, It also has a very long clutch and is hard for short people to drive. Fuel pumps need to be replaced every couple of years.

This is the best vehicle that I have owned. It has tons of power. Starts every morning without fail. It has taken me every where. Drives down the road perfectly. I have received lots of compliments on its looks. I bought the vehicle 5 years ago with 90k miles on it. It now has 125k miles and is still running strong. But due to poor gas mileage (as should be expected of a 350ci V-8) I don''t drive it all the time.

Strength:

Great power. Awesome car like ride. Comfortable interior, great ergonomics.

Weakness:

None yet, perhaps some occasional harsh shifts from 1st to 2nd when the truck is cold.

I am a first time truck owner, I''ve always been an F150 fan, but couldn''t resist the deal my company has with GM. I''ve got to say, to date, I have changed my opinion, I love my truck, and won''t look at Ford or Toyota. The truck rides like a car, even with the Firestones which I am planning on ditching, I have 27k on it, haven''t had a mechanical problem, they did replace the yolk which was causing the clunking sound when at a dead stop and accelerating. The tranny is a bit rough from 1st to 2nd when cold. All kinds of power, and reasonable gas mileage for a V8 5.3, I average over 17 and I don''t baby it, I travel 100 mi. a day with it, and am approaching the end of warranty and am getting a bit nervous when I read some of these reviews with tranny problems etc. However, overall, it has a great interior, comfortable, some wind noise, and love the engine.
