Toyota Tundra Trucks | Vans

DESCRIPTION

Available in Regular cab, Double Cab and CrewMax styles, the Tundra also features three bed lengths, three engines, three wheelbases and a choice of 4X2 or 4X4 configurations.

The Tundra offers three engines and three cab sizes. Handling is relatively responsive, but the ride with the TRD package is stiff. The 5.7-liter V8 is very powerful. The tailgate is easy to raise and lower. A new 4.6-liter V8 replaced the old 4.7-liter for 2010.

Model Reviewed: Tundra Limited

Strength:

Within the length of the dealers parking lot as I left, it felt as if I
had been driving it for years (I trusted Toyota so much (and the reviews I read here) I didn't test drive it before I bought it). We had rented a new Silverado for a week, and I never felt like the truck "fit". The Tundra seems to be an extension of yourself, it does what you want it to do, when you want it, and exceeds your expectations on power, handling, quietness, comfort.

Weakness:

I agree, the clock is hard to read without taking your eyes off the road
more than you feel safe doing. But I haven't found anything else yet that would consider a weakness.

I got a 2000 Tundra Limited with ABS, 6 disc CD, Leather, wood trim, running boards, bed liner, remote alarm, temp.comapss mirror, 2WD in Metallic Red. Paid about $500 over invoice. My brother-in-laws father bought one after owning Silverado's, and will never buy anything but Toyota again. I told my brother in law (who was thinking Silverado) don't even think of buying anything until you drive my Tundra, or your fathers
Tundra. If there were a way you could close your eyes while driving the
Tundra, and you had to guess what you were driving, you would guess
a mid to high range luxury car, not a truck. There is a reason it is top ranked in it's first year of production, they did -everything- right!
Oh, get the V8!

Strength:

I have not found anything I didn't like about my new Tundra that would cause me to give a bad rating.

Weakness:

The only thing I found was, that the rear seat headrests when parallel parking, make it difficult to see out the rear window.

With a little home work and a little bargening. I paid $1,800 over dealer cost. I would recommend this truck to anyone !

Got To Love It !!!

Strength:

Smooth incredible power, great ride, low noise, superb build quality.

Weakness:

Front suspension design, control arm bushings, clock location.

14 months and 26k miles. Had some problems with brake warping and steering oscillations. All fixed to acceptable levels. All in all, the best pickup made on the planer. Highly recommended! This is a machine for light truck use. If you pull horses or tractors on trailers, this is not your machine. For most everyone looking for a personal light truck, the Tundra is the best choice by far. You can expect years of trouble free reliable service and excellent re-sale should you decide to sell.

Sticker price $25,570 got it for $23,570.00.
I recommend for people whose looking for power truck, smooth ride, and long lasting quality, this truck can last another 30 years, but not the ford and chevy, for me ford and chevy looks tough but poor quality..........

Strength:

Excellent power! I have towed 4 yards of concrete with this truck effortlessly! BIG Cab, Excellent Braking, Great Headroom, And it is a real chick grabber! I don't know what everyone is talking about this bad clock location jazz but, c'mon , the clock location is not a crucial part of my truck's operation. (I own a wrist watch) besides I think the location is just fine. I have had no problems with the so called, "hard to change oil filter", I take mine in to change the oil. Braking is great, towing is great, and the bucket seats are excellent! I personally dislike the bench. I need my capitan's chair. This truck has more power and control than anyone should have given me.

Weakness:

I just wish there could have been a little more storage under the back seats. But you can only do so much with the space that you have to work with. The gas mileage is not what the sticker says probably between 13-15mpg. I took my truck from Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe and The mileage increased BIG on the long trip. I got 450 - 500 miles to the tank compared to the 300 mpt I get around town. Overall those are my only gripes... I am 24 years old, and don't believe I will ever own a truck better than this one. NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS AT ALL! AND I HOPE NEVER.

I am not in favor of any specific type vehicle. I drive all kinds for my work... I drive Ford, Chevy, and GMC's at work and I like them all, but all of the other full size trucks I drive never match up with my tundra. The ride is very smooth, and extreemly quiet. My friend even said she feels like we are floating sometimes.
This truck is for people who don't want a typical truck. This truck acts more like a luxury vehicle without the luxury price. It is not for the real cowboy. The real cowboy wants a rough ride, and something he can light up his cigarette in and not worry about where his ashes are going.

Weakness:

DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHTS, ATTRACTS TOO MANY ONLOOKERS, EVERY WANTS IT...HOPE NOT MINE.

THIS IS A MERCEDES OR BETTER YET A LEXUS ON STERIODS. TOO HIGH TECH FOR THOSE STILL DRIVING THE OTHER THREE TO APPRECIATE. COSTOMER SERVICE VERY CONFIDENT AS WELL, AND IT SHOWS. GOTTA TEST DRIVE ONE BEFORE YOU ARE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING ANYTHING ELSE THAT IT EATS FOR BREAKFAST.

Model Reviewed: Tundra ¡Radical! Edition

Strength:

It can rip through any red light (or green) and no cop could ever catch you (if you have the 4x4 version, which is hard to find in the Denver area). But really, this truck drives so smoothly and it is very fast!

Weakness:

I have only two complaints. The seat belts are designed so that you NEVER get out, or hardly move. THe other complaint is that I have already gotten 3 speeding tickets since it pulls off the line so fast. But that will teach those GM and Ford guys that Toyota is better!

I got this Radical edition for just $350 over invoice ($32,200 USD). I would recomend it to anyone! It is great! Just watch your speed it it! It{s radical! This isn´t your gramá´s car, she won{t like it, it´s too big, too fast, and too quick!

Model Reviewed: limited access tundra

Strength:

Power, luxury, quality, looks, value.

Weakness:

I only know of two. Seat belt retractor on drivers side is sluggish. And center floor glove box is poorly designed and cheap.

I am finding some of the comments on this review forum hard to believe!
My tundra was pre-owned with 18K (now 20500K) and I just love it. I have not had any of the problems mentioned before hand. No rattles, doors close rock solid. No clunking when I come to a stop. Exceleration is awsome! This vehicle really fits you, very comfortable even on long drive. Great handling. I am a native of Colorado and drove for many years in terrible winter conditions. I drove my Tundra thru some nasty stuff on HWY 84 going thru Mt Hood national forrest and was thrilled by the Tundra's prowness on slick icy roads. When conditions got bad I simply pressed the 4W HI button and instantly had total control with no chains or studded tires. I havn't been offroad yet, but I can't imagine gettting stuck on "wet grass". I have read only one negitive commment that I could agree with, the automatic trans. is a little sluggish when slowing down and then accelerating again. One reason I bought a Toyota is the legendary quaility, and I am looking forward to a long relationship! I love this truck! Drive one and you'll buy one.

Power, fit and finish, quality, room. I am 6'2" 300# plus, and I love it. this is my first toyota and I think its great. Very comfortable, Accesscab is great, my boss rides back there when we go to lunch. Its good for short trips around town.

Weakness:

Average 13.7 mpg in city driving, clock is too low, should be on radio dial. The seatbelts lock up and you CANT move, no way, no how.

$28,000
Has everything available on the SR5 Accesscab.
I love this truck, I LOVE this truck. Looks great parked on the job, everyone comments on how great it looks.
I had said I would only buy American products, ford, chevy, dodge... but this truck has made me a believer. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a daily driver truck

Strength:

very smooth, powerful, torquey, and quiet v-8. build quality is superior over other trucks in this class. I've towed 5,000 pounds with this truck and it pulls effortlessly over hills and easily cruises at 80 m.p.h.

Weakness:

I've only had it for a month and so the only weakness i've found out about it is the keys cost over $2000 to replace if you lose them.

i paid 28,910 dollars for a 4x4 access cab ltd with the V-8. i would recommend this truck for people who want world class quality, reliability, and a refined truck with a class leading ride. And tow loads up to 7,200 pounds. the 235 h.p. V-8 is amazingly quiet and fuel efficient.
