Strength:

This amp has no cut off unlike some of the older amps. I think JL put a lot of work into this amp and i love it.

Weakness:

None for me.

I love this amp it has great power and it runs good with my JL Audio W3's. Haven't had one problem yet i just wish i had one more and some better speakers. The JL W3 speakers are limited and they aren't to the amps full potential.

Insane, Clean power on demand! WAY UNDERRATED ON POWER!!! after 14 months of abuse, NEVER CUTS OUT, NEVER QUITS!!!!!!!

Weakness:

Are You FU!@*NG kidding me? Great price and unmatched performance and that's over 13 years of experience! 500/1 is SUPERB!!!

I have this amp hooked up to (3) 10W0 JL Audio subs in a sealed enclosure and pound them HARD! they sound incredible, but I know it can push A LOT MORE! It stays cool and NEVER cuts out! The ONLY amp I've owned that NEVER QUITS!!!!!!!!!

Similar Products Used:

Kenwood KAC 926, Punch 500, Alpine MRV-T501,several other Alpine amps and they always got HOT and cut off real quick, Alpine needs to stick with Mids and Tweets, cause they are VERY clean in that area

Strength:

Mind Melting bass at only 500 watts. (I think it's actually rated conservatively)

Weakness:

cuts out a lot in very cold weather without a cap (-20 celsius and below) Hook up a cap to really unleash the potential of this amp.

This amp kicks Ass! I have gone through a few sets of subs with it. I had 2 JL 10w3v2's hooked up to it at 1.5 ohms. They blew cuz I didn't break them in properly. Next was a single jl 15w6. This sub sucks. It has no excursion capabilities. Every time I played it loud it bottomed out. It sounded like a tin jackhammer. So that's gone and now I'm running an alpine R15 with a 1 farad cap. I was blown away by what this amp can do when hooked up to a good sub. Even on the highway with all the windows open you can get a back massage and really feel the bass over the road noise. This amp is hungry and needs a powerful sub to feed on.

i have a cal 200 and a MR357 alpine both bridged to the immps the cal at 2 ohm and the alpine at 4 ohms at the sub and it sounds like crap. I know that the 500/1 will be too much!

Strength:

POWERFULL / good quality / worth the $$

Weakness:

not much more powerfull than a jl 300/2 bridged into 1 channel

i was kind of disapointed. i used to have a jl 300/2 bridged into 1 channel, pushing two 12 W0's untill i blew all of my X-Mas $$$ on two 12 W3's and a jl 500/1. i was very excited when i got it all hooked up. But it really wasnt that much louder. NOT WORTH THE EXTRA $$$ I PAID. so if your looking for a jl system i would recomend using a 300/2 and some W0's.

GREAT AMP, BEST SOUND QUALITY. I WILL ONLY BUY JL. I HAVE THIS AMP PUSHING THE JL HO BOX WITH THE 10'S, IT SLAMMES. PEOPLE SOMETIMES THINK THAT I HAVE 12'S. I WILL BE UPGRADING TO THE 12W6v2's,ALSO TO THE JL 1000/1.

Strength:

Easy to tune to fit your precise bass needs, as well as adjusting to the type of sub you have. That and having the Remote Bass Controler is a plus.

Weakness:

HAH! When you find one let me know.

There's nothing but JL for me. The 500/1 drives my w6v2 like nothing, and damn is it loud. I can see another w6v2 beeing a good investment.
