Strength:

VERY POWERFUL, NOT TO BIG. HAS EXTERNAL BASS CONTROL FOR WIRED REMOTE, DON''T HAVE TO RUN BACK AND FORTH TO TRUNK TO SET BASS

Weakness:

NONE THAT I COULD SEE. LONG AS YOU KEEP IT WITHIN ITS LIMITS, SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM

I HAD THIS AMP IN A 300ZX, PUSHING 4-12 INCH THUNDER 5000 SUBS, AND IT HIT HARD.ALTHOUGH IT HAS INTERNAL CROSSOVER FUNCTIONS, I DECIDED TO USE OUT BOARD CROSSOVER FROM MTX(LSX2).MY SPEC SHEET SAID IT TESTED AT 203 WRMS/CH @4OMS, AND 317 @2OHMS, VERY UNDERATED AMP. A FRIEND OF MINE HAPPEN TO HAVE ONE AND BLEW HIS, CAUSE OF IMPROMPER HOOKUP. HE DIDN''T THINK TO SEND IT OFF TO GET REPAIR, SO I GOT IT DIRT CHEAP FROM HIM AND SENT IT TO MTX FOR REPAIRS. NOW I HAVE 2 OF THESE MONSTERS SO I CHANGED MY SPEAKER SET UP TO 2- 15 INCH THUNDER 7000 SUBS, AND WHEN MTX SAYS THUNDER, THEY DO MEAN THUNDER!! I RAN BOTH AMPS @ 4OHMS BRIDGED TO KEEP THE TEMP UNDER A BIT, BUT DIDN''T HELP THAT MUCH, THESE AMPS STILL GET PRETTY HOT. BEING THAT MY CAR WAS SO SMALL, IT ACTUALLY SOUNDED LIKE A SPEAKER BOX ON WHEELS. MY TRUNK WAS TO SMALL TO HAVE THE PROPER SIZE BOX FOR THE 15''S, SO IT DIDN''T HIT AS LOW AS IT SHOULD. ONE THING ABOUT THIS AMP IS IT DRAWS ALOT OF CURRENT SO YOU DON''T WANT TO HAVE IT STARVING FOR POWER, MAKE SURE YOUR CARS CHARGING SYSTEM IS GOOD, AND DEFINATELY GET AT LEAST A 1 FARAD CAP. ON MY SET UP I HAD A 15 FARAD SQUARE CAP THAT WAS VERY SUFFICENT FOR MY 2 2300X AMPS. I HAVEN''T SEEN MANY AROUND FOR SELL LATELY BUT IF YOU COME ACROSS ONE AND YOUR LOOKING FOR OUSTANDING PERFORAMNCE AND HIGH POWER, BEST BET TO JUMP ON IT.

Strength:

Loads of power, close to a kilowatt under ideal conditions, perfect for 2 ohm stereo loads or 4 ohm mono loads, but I wouldn't run it into a 2 ohm mono load.Very flexible, like the 18 db/oct x-overs and bass boost. No turn on or turn off noises AT ALL.Reasonable price.

Weakness:

Was pushing 3 12" MTX subs with it at 4 ohms mono, and the amp would shut off every now and then. This amp sucks a ton of power, and runs fairly hot.Styling is kinda plain.I once melted a fuse holder playing some Bass Mechanix,so I would suggest a cap for use with this amp.

I paid $325 used, this amp sells for about $600,so I think I got a great deal on it.I would recommend it only if you run 4 gauge and use a cap for it,it's a monster and will easily pull 90 amps,so be careful how you use it.

Strength:

Great POWER, small enough to fit where i want it, maybee not you. HITS very hard.

Weakness:

Sucks alot of power, but my car will handle it, 175 amp alternator and 2 gauge wire running back to it and my ppi6600. It can get alittle warm but i never had it shut down on me.

I would highly reccomend if your subs and power source can handle it. I love the sound, it sounds good at low volume and bumps hard at higher sound levels. I have the EBC and it works great for my stereo. I have it pushing 2 rockford fosgate punch DVC's the 1999 models, and they take everything the amp can throw at them. Great amp. I paid 400 for it. (well worth it)

Strength:

RUNS VERY GOOD ON TWO TWELVES AT STEREO 2 OHMS. WAS MOUNTED IN TRUNK OF CAR, A ONE FARED CAP WAS ALSO USED. THE TEMP WAS NORMAL FOR AN AMP OF THIS SIZE AND POWER.

Weakness:

HAVE NOT SEEN ANY SINCE IN USE.

DONE WHAT IT WAS BOUGHT FOR, I ALSO HAVE SMALLER MTX AMPS RUNNING 6X9 SPEAKERS, SOUNDS GREAT. ALL AMPS ARE WHITE MODELS, LOOKS GOOD. READ THE REVIEW AND USE COMMON SENSE THIS IS THE SH*T.

Strength:

This amp has lots of reserve power, great for one 4 ohm mono or 2 ohm stero sub system, has a small foot print, thin , fits tight spots, great sound, Will produce high SPL with proper install.

Weakness:

This amp draw lots of current, lights dimmin at night, but almost all high power amps do this to produce power, this amp is by far under rated, power output is most likely near twice its rated power before you can get it to start clipping. Must run 4gage wire to this amp to let it hit the hard peaks that is is capiably of. It will over heat at 2 ohms mono and even 1 ohm mono I have run it in beyond its rated and recomended appilcations and it will blow all three 30 amp fuses when ran into 1 ohm mono, but the amp has not shut down even when its very hot, fan inside runs fast and makes noise, when running very hard.

This amp is rated at 150rms per channel and thats what I got and lots more in reserve, for them hard bass peaks that we all love, recomend to all, but remember no sytem sounds good without a good box ,4 gage wire and a good head unit, I ran this amp on MTX s blue thunder thee 10s box in mono for 650rms watts at 4 ohms, in a Nissan 300zx and faced them towards the back hatch and SPL #s were at and near 140 depending on bass notes . Amp will not overheat at 4 ohms mono and will, turn heads if you wish to beat the steets with it. Any one who has sit in my car and listen were greatly inpressed with its bass, If your lookin for a good amp I recomend any thing from MTX there amps exceed there rated output!!!

Strength:

The 2300X is a super tough amp and can take a major beating. The amp hits very hard and very low and very deep. Hasn't shut down on me so far, i have it running @ 4 ohms, so it's okay.

Weakness:

Draws a TON of power for the amount it puts out. My lights dim like craaazy @ night when i start pumping it.

I love this amp and how hard it hits for the price, however, it draws a ton of power off my alternator. I have it running two eclipse 8712.8 subs running parallel @ 4 ohms and it works perfectly. Hits very low and very loud, but still drawing ninety amps. There's three 30 amp fuses on that amp. The amp can take a beating though, i once ran it down to one ohm and it played for about thirty seconds, then all three fuses blew. I replaced the fuses and the amp still ran fine. All in all, it's a great sounding bass amp for a decent price.

Strength:

good bass amp, moved some cone, good value for the money

Weakness:

nothing really

I had the older style 2300, before they looked like kitchen appliances (X's), and I was impressed with the amp, I tried other mtx amps, and this is the only one I liked, at 1 point, I ran it in tri-mode mono to 3 10's @ 4 ohms mono, and stereo to 2 15's @4 ohms , not the ideal situation, but we've all been there, the amp pushed them all well, never shut down once, and did a hell of a good job, I sold the amp when I went with all Kicker Zr's, which I do like better for my current application, but if you want a solid bass amp, with good power, for the price, power, and reliability, the 2300 is hard to beat

Strength:

Well were should i start?!?! I have it connected to 2 12 SOLOs and they kick ass..period.
I mean sure some people say they suck...but its only cause they never used it or because they simply dont have the right setup. I have 2 MTX amps and i must say i cant be happier. Of course these babies are hungry for power and i had to put 1 farad cap, but it was all worth it. 150RMS per channel?!?! :) HA.... good one...its more like 300 per channel. If u never tried it for yourself, make yourself a favour BUY IT.

Weakness:

Well i am not sure i have 2 cooling fans on guard, and they still get a little bit warm (just warm). So maybe they get warm, but as one of the ppl hear said..NOT TO THE TOUCH. Otherwise this AMP is flawless.
..oh yes and to the guy who blown it 3 times...newbies like you have to stay away from good stuff...Get yourself Legacy or something and be happy.

BUY IT...Period.
