    Strength:

    Looks nice. Termials take 1/0.

    Weakness:

High THD %. Yes, it gives out a lot of power but the sound is distored.

I have a problem with the THD percentage. Yes, this amp will put out a lot of power but the sound is very distorted. I have a 170spl(15inch subwoofer) 4-ohm dual voice coil. I have the ohms in parallel making a 2-ohm load. My deck is an alpine(2000model)….4volt preamp output. I have 1/0 gauges for the amp power and ground. Running parallel to the MTX 8100D is a 1f cap. At low volume, it sounds good. When you turn up the volume you will get distortion. The max on the sub is 800w. Mtx Company replied that the gain is two high and that the amp is to powerful for the speakers. Well, I turn the gain down and it would barely move my sub. Beside the distortion, I think it is a good amp for the money

the external bass controll didn't work

havn't really used it too much, had it in 4 ohms on 4 rockford blowgate 15"s and it sounded pretty good, i read some one had the amp at 1 ohm, i think im going to try that this monday on a CV stroker 12"
if you've had experiance with this amp in 1 ohm, and it handled it, please email me and let me know if the amp will last or not
