Strength:

The Strengths to this amp is its 2x25 at 4ohms great for comp.....Never get unbelevabley hot...puts out clean sound.....

Weakness:

I Dont like the Plugs for the speaker input and for power input although its a good connection.

I Paid around $200 only because I worked at ABC Warehouse and got a great discount though accomidations. I would recommend it to every one that wants a loud system i've heard best for JL Audio and Orion Subs Best to run HCCA's great sound with them.

Strength:

It looks good Good power at low volume

Weakness:

ran at 2 ohms stereo and it shut off every time I tried to push it, gets excessively hot, was factory installed so it wasnt my error hig price paid 519+tax, no fan definately can't run at .25ohm mono, so somebody is lying

$519 high price should warrant good quality, apparently most of the price is put into the looks. would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Power! Great looks. Quality.

Weakness:

It does set you back a few dollars. $399.99 in DEC 1993.

I have to start out by saying this amp looks way to good. The only thing I like more than its looks are the performance. I bought it to run 3 JL Audio 10w6 subs at 1 ohm mono. It does this with authority. There is pleanty of power with headroom, no need for a capacitor as the power supply in this amp is awesome! I had a punch 400x4 to run the mids a highs, one day I wanted to try the 225hcca out. I definitly heard a sound quality improvement, less power though (ratted 25x 2 stereo 4ohm, 400x1 mono 1ohm). Great amp!

Good God, does it get any better than this? I bought this amp used for 200, it is an older digital reference series, but I would love to see a four year old amp for 200 dollars try to match the power output. And the high damping factor keeps my JL sub under tight control all the time. I couldn't give a higher reccomendation for a product. Car Stereo Review did an article on a car with a HCCA 225 in it, and listed it as pushing 500 watts into each of two JL Audio tens ran in parallel. That's a total of a thousand watts! It's awesome!

This is an AWESOME amp! I purchased it from a local car-audio shop for $399 (100 off) but you can find these on Ebay for $300 or so.
It sounds like a low power amp- 25 watts x 2, but that is at 4 ohms. I'm running it with a Rockford Fosgate 15" DVC- so the DVC is a 2 ohm load. Since I'm running the amp bridged, I'm putting 100 VERY CLEAN watts into it. This amps is .25 ohm stalbe, so I could run 8 of these subs off this amp, all with the same power output... it would just run very hot.

It has a built in crossover (way better than any deck-crossover I've used). 64Hz, 80, 125, 170, 200Hz) It has RCA in and out, so you can filter the 'lows' out of your door speakers to minimize distortion.

I give it an A+++
