Strength:

looks good with dark interior face was not overcrowded clock returns as main display when wanted attenuation, menu remains displayed no time limit

Weakness:

buttons are small no subwoofer output skips occasionally

the receivers overall value at full price would not coax me into buying it, but at $99 I can not complain, though I did find similarities to others opinions. was told it was repaired, but owner kept replacement.

Strength:

Good looking

Weakness:

Tracks skipped while on the road.

This unit is a piece of trash. In 1 1/2 years of use, the face plate turned black and did not work anymore. Mine has a CD stucked inside and I have no clue what to do with it. During my last attempt to reset the unit, the face plate closed and now it cannot be opened. Ever. I might have to remove the unit, smash it and get my CD back, which probably has better value than this unit. It is not economically wise to send the unit to Kenwood for repairs. I better get another radio from another reputable manufacturer and WILL NEVER buy another KENWOOD.

Strength:

Awesome flat, low-profile face that gives you an angle option, motorized and detachable face (ironically the downfall,) great sound. Its a shame that such a good looking product turned out to be a P.O.S.

Weakness:

It broke just like everybody else's that had owned it for more than a year. The only other weakness would be that fact that I paid 400 bucks for it and its busted.

Great head unit until it turned out like everyody elses. The revolving face just stopped working and now im stuck with a $400 piece of plastic in my dash that is only there to fill the hole. You would think that with so many people having the same problem after the same amount of time that kenwood would pull their head out of their ass and either replace it or help out with the repair costs. Not bloody likely.

Strength:

Sounded good when it worked. Clear sound, good power.

Weakness:

Motorized face plate is a gimmick that obviously fails often. Don't even consider buying a motorized face plate.

This is starting to get repetitive. I bought the unit in Oct 2001. In Mar 2003, the display suddenly went blank. Buttons still worked, but couldn't see what I was doing. In April 2003, the whole thing died. Now I have silence.

Strength:

Great sound. Never skipped for me. Revolving face.

Weakness:

Revolving face stopped working.

I loved my CD player when I first got it which was in July of 2001. I had a minor problem about a month ago...it wouldn't eject the CD...I pressed reset and it went back to normal. Now, the face won't revolve at all so now I am driving in silence until I figure out what to do with it.

Strength:

Nice look with clean features. Fold away/detachable face is nice. Remote works well. No CD skipping problems for me and I drive a 4x4. Worked fine until it broke.

Weakness:

Navigating can be a bit complicated unles you do it a lot. Too mayn features to remember how to control. Keep your owners manual handy.

Had the unit about 16 months when the face stopped illuminating. Everything else worked but no display. I called Kenwoods tech support and they say to push the reset button. So I do, and now nothing works. I'm going to send it in to them to look at, but at $60/hr and a $25 diagnostic fee, it may not be worth it to get fixed.
