Strength:
Powerful, loud, easy to use with lots of security?xD;?xA;features.
Weakness:
Heats up and distorts too quickly. I have to?xD;?xA;run the volume at 26/27 (max. is 35). Should?xD;?xA;run to at least 28/29. Loudness could use more?xD;?xA;boost to the mid and bass ranges. Good, strong Kenwood receiver with lots of features that are easy to use. Wiring is a snap, with a?xD;?xA;"Continuous Power" wire for amps as well as a power antenna wire that only functions when the?xD;?xA;radio is on. Allows EQ control of bass, treble, and mid with 6 preset curves and 1 user ?xD;?xA;programmable curve. Good for people looking for clean sound and power. Strength:
Looks! Automatic hideaway face. Adjustablity. Great power with out an aditional power amp needed for most.
Weakness:
Skips...Skips...Skips I love the look. I have a Porsche 911 and I wanted a stereo that laid flat in the dash. I didn''t like the look of the Alpine or Sony high end head units. The sound is great. Somewhat hard to learn how to make adjusments. Many buttons and combinations of such to achieve preferred sound. Only complaint, it skips. Skips a lot. Though, It isn''t like I drive a Cadillac. You feel every BUMP on the road, and I guess the stereo does too. I run the unit through an Alpine 200 watt amp attached to an 8 speaker Polk component system. Also, an MTX 400 watt amp drives 2, 10" MTX subwoofers. Not a competition stereo, but sounds great at low-mid levels. Looks. 100%! Automatic, Hideaway face plate always gets a comment. Fix the skipping problem, I''d give the head unit a 95%. As is, an 75% rateing is where it stands. Similar Products Used: Alpine, Pioneer, Sony |
