Strength:

Pretty good build quality, Easy EQ feature works great, ample power, plays CDRs with no problems, and sounds great even with stock speakers.

Weakness:

Grey color doesn't match well with rest of dash in Acura Integras, power attena doesn't go down when you switch from Radio to CD.

I decided on purchasing a new CD reciever for my 98 Acura Integra, after my Alpine CDE-7853 started to go bad on me. I had decided on the Pioneer for a few reasons: good power, good price, good features, and I had figured if the Pioneer guys made CD players half as good as the DV-333 DVD player (which I own and HIGHLY recommend) then I would be in good shape. Much to my delight, everything was great! The build quality is pretty solid. The Easy EQ function is really nice! No more fiddling with too many buttons, you just hit a lever up/down and select from preset Low/Mid/High tone settings. Also, my factory speakers sounded great with the reciever, but those are the next thing to go...as we all know Honda's don't exactly have the best factory speakers in the world. But for now, they will do just fine.

The only dissapointing thing is that the grey color of the Face, and trim ring looks "out of place" because it is a sort of ash grey color, while the rest of my dash is black. But I believe I will get used to it with time, I did only install it about 1 hour ago. Also, the power antenna stays up the whole time to radio is on. In the Alpine, it would switch off when ever you would switch from Radio to CD. It is only a minor problem though, I guess I just prefer my attena up only when I'm listening to the radio. All in all, this CD player is great, I'd most ceretainly recommend it to anyone.

Strength:

Excellent features, enables really fine audio adjustments, plays CD-Rs really well!! Never skips! Nice looks. Good sound quality as well!

Weakness:

LED too bright, non adjustable. Switches off after CD is ejected. Only 1 pair of pre-outs. Controls not as user-friendly as other brands.

Bought it after hearing of its capability of playing CD-Rs. My current Nak changer just won't accept CD-Rs. Perfect for techies, can even adjust the sound curve, Q-factor etc.!! Good for non-techies as well, since there are 5 pre-set EQs available. Sufficient power for those who don't intend to install an amp. Relatively cheap compared to other brands with the same features! Highly recommendable!

Strength:

Sounds great and plays burnt cd's wonderful. No need to buy an EQ. The price was great. Never skips.

Weakness:

The color of the lights, only 1 pre-out, face plate doesn't always want to go back where it should.

Great for the price but only one pre-out sucks. The sound quality is great and has never had a cd stuck in it that it couldn't play. The EZ EQ is very nice and this deck has a lot of options. Seems like this deck was designed more specifically for cd-changer because of the options you can only use with a cd changer. Great buy for the buck.

Strength:

Plays any kind of CDR or even CDRW! Thats the best part, I can just burn songs I like onto a CDRW and it plays it fine and later i can just delete the songs and make a new cd!

Amazing power from the 45x4, sounds really good, made my stock speakers sound 10x better. Also I havent had time to wire up my car for my amp so I'm currently running 6.5" Blau fronts and in the back i've disconnected my stock 6x9s and connected my box, 2-10" Subs in a bandpass, sounds AMAZING! Lots of ppl have told me that they cant believe its running off the deck!

Easy EQ, and Front Image Enhancer are also really great, the FIE helps when I'm using the subs.

Weakness:

Just that the display is hard to read in the sunlight, washes out.

100x better than any stock deck, sounds amazing, pushes subs, and all for a good price. I live in Canada but bought it in the US for $179 at Circuit City, installed it myself.

I recommend this deck to any1 and every1, worth every last penny!!

Strength:

Good looks, powerful amplifier and loads of cool features for the price (£127.99 inc. delivery)

Weakness:

Display can be hard to read from certain viewing angles in daylight.

This was the first car stereo that I have used other than factory fitted ones and I am extremely happy with it. It looks good, has a very usable layout and is easy to install. The amplifier gives more power than I'll ever need with the car's standard speakers and the unit has every feature I could possibly want. I live in an extremely rural area and the tuner picks up all the major stations which many do not, and the CD player won't skip even on my local rough/bumpy roads.

Model Reviewed: installed in a 97 Neon Coupe

Strength:

This model plays CDRs flawlessly, and I can't make it skip! Pioneer's MOSFET45 provides plenty of power, and the EQ is highly customizable. Even though the pre-amp output is only 2.2v, its nice to have the option. The controls take some getting used to, but the manual explains all the options pretty well.

Weakness:

The faceplate feels flimsy... maybe I'm just worried because I'm clumsy and dropped it the first day I had it.

I paid $189 from Crutchfield and would highly recommend them. They included the necessary wiring harness and face plate adapter, so installation was a breeze.
This unit blows away my friend's Aiwa CD receiver. I would recommend the Pioneer P3100 to anyone who's looking for a solid headunit without breaking the bank.

Strength:

Very crisp and powerful for the price range.

Weakness:

Source/station preset/function buttons all run together across the lower portion of the unit, making it difficult to select stations by feel without looking directly at the unit.

This is a very good unit for the price. It may not have all of the options that a high end user is looking for, but for entry to mid level performance it is great. I bought the unit, had it installed, and got an extended warranty for $249 with tax. The clarity is very good and the EQ control adds much to the listening experience. Controls are fairly easy to navigate once you know where to look for the function you need.
I highly recommend the Pioneer 3100.

Strength:

I am extremely impressed with this product. I havent't had a single problem with this product. It play's CDR's flawlessly. The control are simple yet they require a basic knowledge of car audio terms such as "FIE" (Front Image Enhancer) but the manual is very explanatory for those who are not as versed. The 45X4 MOSFET is great it puts out about 22 Watts RMS per channel and I drive Pioneer TS-G1045 4" in my two doors and a pair of Pioneer TS-A6959 6X9" in the back deck of my 1983 Volvo 242 Turbo Coupe. I would reccommend this deck to absolutely anyone that wants a great deck at a reasonable price. If you are new to the car audio scene, get it profewssionally installed, especially if you have a hard to work on car. Another great thing is the set or RCA preamp outputs, this makes adding an amp later an absolute breeze. I am in the process of this right now to put a pioneer 10 in my trunk. The disc titling feature is great

Weakness:

Wished that the lights had a dimmer. Would like to see a display that would always show the time and then you could have whatever else on the display at the same time.

I went to The Good Guys in Fresno, California after I bought my car to put a completely new system in it. I knew about what i wanted to put in and about wha ti wanted to spend. Of course by going to a big name store like that I got jabbed a little on the price, I paid 189.99 installed for the deck plus a mounting plate that was 15 bucks. But their installers did a very professional job. Again, I would reccomend this product to absolutely anyone. This is one of the reasons that I am now a "Pioneer Purist"

Strength:

Excelent sound. Looks great, better than any I've seen. plays CDR's perfect(lots Don't). The disc titleing is a great feature. LLLLLOOOOOTTTSSSS of power. Makes stock speakers sound good.

Weakness:

It shuts off when you eject a disc. It gets hot if your listening to cds for a long time(more than 2 hours). I was driving home from Minneapolis after a KoRn concert while listening to cds, It got too hot after 2 hours of playing cds and started skipping. 1/2 hour later I took the cd out and the cd was so hot I was surprised it wasn't melted.

I got it for around $180 at Best Buy. They installed it for free, but all the adapters and the surround made it nearly $280. Since it was right after christmas, we had to wait 4 hours for them to install it.
