Strength:

Excellent power, and easy to use. Mosfet 45 is great, and I don't need an amp to pump my speakers. Detatchable face is good for security. Also, bass is excellent and easily adjustable through wide range.

Weakness:

Display washes out totally in sunlight. Also, difficult to detatch smoothly.

I paid $240 for it, installed with warranty. Excellent buy, worth every penny, unless you want to hook up more speakers or a sub, in which case go for the P3000.

stock GM cassette (much easier to use, but not as powerful, and didn't have CD)

Strength:

Easy eq , detachable face, mosfet 45 watt by 4 internal amp. Great power pumps my 6 pioneer speakers loud enough to wake up the neighbors. I love the disc naming. It hasnt skipped yet except for one time and thats cuz the disc was scratched real bad. Price it only cost me $195 with tax already included.

Weakness:

I hate when it turns off after you eject a cd, Colors. Wish it had more colors then just plain orange. eject button is a little touchy you can just barely touch it and it pops out of place.

$195 at wal-mart. I would definetly recommend it.

Strength:

Makes the factory speakers sound fantastic. Hasn't skipped yet. Easy to preset channels. Plays CD-Rs flawlessly. Good value overall.

Weakness:

Small buttons, they should use a big dial for the volume, makes it easier to adjust volume when driving. Have to read manual on how to change the clock. Equalizer LCD is pretty useless. Pop the CD and the power goes off. Pain to find the power button at night to turn on if the unit is off, wish they had a option to set this.

Paid 300.00 before taxes. A solid workhorse. If you want a good sounding unit at a reasonable price, this is it.

Strength:

Relative Hi Power w/o a separate AMP. Equalizer Function built in. Plays CD-R "and" CD-RW!

Weakness:

Button Layout. Drill down adjustment functions.

The first Receiver that I have EVER had that provides enough power (Mosfet 45) without a separate Amp or Old School EQ/Booster to pump my system. It also has an EQ selection with 5 different styles. You can also set up a 'custom' style, modifying one of the 5 canned ones. Also has a 3 setting Loudness, in addition to the EQ! The most sound variablilty that I have ever seen self contained in a head unit. Paid $169.99 but could have probably gotten it cheaper if I had the patience, since Pioneer is coming out with a new line. Thinking of getting another just to have on the shelf.

I have a new car receiver rule: Mosfet 45 as minimum acceptance criteria! (unless you want to run a separate amp system)

Be aware of changes in the the new line. According to my Crutchfield, the 2100 does not have the same features as the 2000 (Direct EQ vs Easy EQ). You have to go to the 3100 to be comparable, plus you get a remote. Needless to say it retails for more.

Pumps my cheap/stock speakers well :)

I have a Pioneer 1000. Is it possible that it can remember the name of the band, when listing to CD's, if seen it done on the 3000. E-mail me

Strength:

Price, Amp, Sound

Weakness:

Tuner, Ease of use, Stupid things

Good value, however has some really stupid oddities like difficulty remembering how to adjust time, change different modes. When it ejects CD, doesn't automatically go back to radio. The CD random function stays on even when you eject and insert a new CD; kind of wierd, but I actually like this feature. No mute.

when CD is ejected it does not go back to the radio, hard to read in the sun, some of the features are complicated to use

$180. This is a great CD player. It has a very reasonable price, yet it still has lots of good options and features. The MOSFET 45 amp powers my factory speakers very well. The EASY EQ comes in handy occaisonally. For the price range it's in, it gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
