Strength:

Excellent sound, flexible set up, features

Weakness:

Display only fair in sunlight

This is a great unit. Better sound quality than you should expect with out amps. I like the gadgets it has. I use the imaging feature and several others. It's rare to find a piece of electronics equiptment that I am as pleased with.

Strength:

Excellent price. Comes with an IP-Bus you can hook up to your cd changer, or to a CDRB10 adapter. With this adapter you can plug in an external input source through RCA jacks as well.

Weakness:

none

Overall good product for the consumer who wants to spend ~150 to 200 on a head unit. Has Cd changer support for system upgradablity, nice EQ, and plenty of power.

Strength:

Awsome price! This unit packs alot of power for the price, much more than my old Blaupunkt. It has alot of features, I recomend it to anyone looking for a good priced CD player.

Weakness:

hard to read in the sun.

features, I recomend it to anyone looking for a good priced CD player. I have no amps and just pioneer speakers in my car and let me tell you alot of people are surprised by the amount of bass I get from them, they ask if I have a sub in the trunk that is just turned down low.

I purchased the 2000 and was very pleased with everything. It pumps out the power with 22 watts RMS...almost the highest offered on the market. The only problem is the display is very hard to make out. I am going to upgrade my whole system so I'm going to go with the DEH-P7000R so that I can have speaker and sub crossovers from the head unit....but for $150 from www.autotoys.com this is the way to go for good, loud sound.

Strength:

Loud, no need to crank setting up
at 45 watts peak, pushes my speakers nicely

Weakness:

display washes out in sunlight

This is one good deck. I own the DEH-1000 (no place to review it) and have had no problems at all. The player never skips (go "off roading" with my civic quite often) and the sound is very clean. All I need now is a crossover to cut out the bass to my speakers (have a Fosgate 12 inch that handls 400 watts rms 800 peak). Even my lower model rocks, buy it.

Strength:

Very clean, powerful sound without an outboard power amp. Abundance of useful features such as an electronic crossover, disc titling, etc.

Weakness:

Lousy ergonomics! It's filled with tiny buttons and lots of menus. Playing around with anything other than basic functions while moving is a dangerous proposition. The other weakness is the tuner: It's not anything exceptional, and you can't program radio stations manually! Why was this feature omitted? Many of the stations I like are not the six strongest signals. Inexcusable.

An odd mix. A little more thought could have gone into the design.

This stupid thing doesn't work when it gets humid outside! It gives me the "Error A0" message and won't spit my disc out. Now it doesn't even turn on, but the radio has always worked just fine! Other than that I love it.

The deck is incredible. The MOSFET amp drives my speakers with a precision only expected from outboard amps. I have experienced no problems related to humidity as the other person did...and believe me it is very humid here. Perhaps he purchased a defective unit. The 2000 has several features including EEQ, disc titling, and MOSFET45 power. For only $180, this has to be the best deal in the car stereo market. This value can only be expected from a great company like Pioneer.

This is probably the best deck for its price range ($180-$200). The integrated EQ is quite flexible and the amp produces clean and powerful sound. The only thing I wish it had was an analog volume knob. I despise those stupid +/- "digital" volume controls.

I bought this product when I changed my car to replace the "radio only" system. I went shopping to many stores and I heard Alpine, Sony, Clarion, JVC and the pioneer P2000. I really liked all the features offered, especially the EEQ and Front Image enhancer. For the price, it's a very goot unit, lot of power. No problems with all CDrs and even CD-RW. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good system not too expensive.
Only one thing, the display is kinda hard to read on sunny days, but I don't mind too much.
