Strength:

Exceptional tonal reproduction.

Weakness:

Not aware of any.

Has anyone heard better sounding tweeters and Mids? I have not. I've had my diamonds for 4 years now and they still crystal clear.

I researched everything available at the time and couldn't find anything that came close.

Strength:

HEX series speakers create a great sound stage that isn't focalized. Cross over that allows you to utilize multiple 6 1/2 mid's.

Weakness:

have had no complaints with these speakers.

Diamond Audio has produced one of the best sounding speakers I've ever heard. I have listened to Boston's Z line speakers and felt that the highs are better out of my Diamond HEX series speakers. The price was amazing compared to boston's $1,000 per pair.

Strength:

Clean and loud as hell. Great imaging when tuned properly. Absolutely HUGE amount of clean midbass (will bring tears of joy).

Weakness:

Tweeters are really nice, but not as nice as the Mids.

Absolutely jaw dropping performance. Everthing is crystal clear. Goes loud as heck. HUGE amount of midbass. I am extremely satisfied. Do set the resistors on the crossover network to it's Max attenuation.

Lots, including Premium MB Quarts (in my opinion overated).

Strength:

-Extreme clarity -Nice crisp highs (depending on your preference) -Clear mids

Weakness:

-Won't produce real bass. However know components does that. That is what subs are for. Don't let anybody convince you that a component can produce awesome bass.

I've owned this speaker for over six months, and finally took some time to write this review. The ones I got are the s600s model. All I have to say is that these diamond speakers are one of the clearest car audio speakers available, bar none. The highs and mids are crystal clear, if installed and power properly. However, don't think you won't need any sub to fill in the lower bass. No mid and tweeter component is going to give you the full spectrum of the audio range. If your into string instrument these are probably one of the best at producing it in a car environment. On my comparison between diamonds and focals, diamond's clarity excelled. The highs can be a little harsh, but I think it suits a car environment, where traffic noise usually drowns out weak highs. For anybody who wants to be amazed with the clarity in their music, you should definitely go audition these diamonds. If you have never heard good quality speakers before, these speakers will bring out sounds in your cd you never even know existed.

Excellent power handling. Very flat response. I have the S, and its still a bit bright to my taste.

Weakness:

Tweeter is a bit bright for my own taste

I used to have a set of Focal. But those blew out. So I was told these are better replacement. For what I can hear so far, these are much more flat than the focal. Voice is very clear. Mid-range is also very clear. The mid-range woofer are capable of handling lower response. From my Focal of 160hz cut off, I now have it set to 100hz

Loud & crystal Clear -- Easy install with the shallow basket Great looking Crossovers for those looking for a sharp display--I for one do not compeat so I went total stealth for this install

Weakness:

The only weekness is that there are very few Dealers- I just moved and got lucky to have noticed a dealer not too far away Others are sure to not be as lucky

These are simply the best mid drivers I have ever owned Nothing has please me more in any of my past cars I am hooked They are shallow for easy of installation I have them powered by a 4 channel phoenix gold XS series amp outdated at this point but it still drives strong I am sold on quality of sound and value- I honestly believe Diamond makes the best sounding product for the money I have every come across These mids are just hard and on the money for what I was looking for They can be hard to find in some areas due to small dealer #'s It really will work for Dealers in the long run- due to the fact that I am a loyal Diamond fan-so after my resent move -I will do buisness with a Diamond dealer

Smooth and Clear. Well built system!!!!!

Weakness:

Are you kidding!!!! What are you smoking? OK Maybe one. No Internet purchases.

I have been comparing the MB Quart QM 6 1/2 comp. system to the Diamond Hex 600s. The sound from the Hex speakers is unbelieveable. I search the sound room to make sure no subwoofers were playing. The midbass is next to having subs and the tweeters is smooth and clear. I'm going to run a JL Audio 300/4 (75x4) to the Hex 600s and the M391i 6x9. I have no doubt that this system will turn heads and ears. Well maybe just heads!!!!

Strength:

Price--much less expensive than many speakers which are not as sonically pleasing in my opinion. HEX Midrange Woofer is simply amazing. Read about it and you will understand why. 70% lighter and 7 times stiffer than conventional cone...ehh need I say more? ok fine.. flat response through 7 octives! HEX Woofer cone itself is inherently so well dampened it has no audible resonance signature! I could go on..but you can just read what they wrote instead! ;) 1% parts used in crossovers vs 5% in MB Quart for example. Sound is limited by even some of the best source signals/power levels you can throw at them. Competition -10dB bandpass RAF channel on crossovers.

Weakness:

Tweeters -- Aluminum louder and higher frequency extension but less accurate and less reliable under high power/high heat; however, silk roll off too fast at high frequencies and give a more mudded sound..even if it is more flat, it seems less matched to the mids output level than the aluminum. In other words, pick the one you like, but either way, they won't be home audio quality. (But thats just because they are for car environment--small dome tweeter) Not many dealers.

Ok...I have two HEX 2-way sets. The S500a in kick pannels and the S600a in doors. I'm running them at 2 ohm stereo off a symblink line driven Zapco AG1000. 16v balanced input, +12dB gain off of a Clarion 9755z (no internal amp, 20 bit burr brown DAC). From my experiences with these, I have a few valuable pieces of info. 1) They can take a LOT of power ie. im giving them 900/4 = ~225 watts per crossover. Not per set, not per side...225 per crossover. They are rated at 180 peak I believe. They beg for more. If I had a c90 (which has better S/N) and two Zapco C2k-3.0x in 2 ohm bridged (one per side == again better S/N but about same power) they would play louder as they wouldn't be limited by their input so much...But make no mistake about it, its LOUD as it is! Also, I play them crossed over at 67 Hz and they love to romp midbass all day long. My car was, in the opinion of everyone around, louder than a JBL rep's car with 12 coax sets in it. (Obviously that doesn't say much for JBL, haha) 2) To repeat what others have said and the suggestion I made above: They are only as good as their input. Input S/N & clipping at max output is the limiting factor on these speakers--I hear distortion from my high end electronics before the HEX Woofers. (The same is not to be said for the tweeters; but then small car audio tweeters are simply not clean by comparison to home audio tweeters) (Except maybe the Morelli Supremos that is) I must say that I hope that the others on this message board who have been using these off of 90 watt amplifiers get the chance to use larger, cleaner amps on these speakers. I think you will be impressed! I think mine play at least three times louder in with the AG1000 than they did with the AG350. I know, that sounds crazy; but it is seriously that much of a difference to really be able to push these with adequate power. 2.5) Mp3's are a very big no no with these. 3.) Heh, what else can be said? I've heard a lot of other speakers and these rock; Especially playing Rock. GUITAR & DRUMS are AMAZING on these.

Availability, my vendor took a month and a half to get them to me.....

Awesome sound speakers. I have an a/d/s/ p850 running these and almost feel like I have the band playing in my SUV! I sampled these along with the Focal 165k2 and the 600s' had noticeably better clarity and mid-bass.

Smooooth, Loud, Clear, Defined, Stereo Imaging is SWEET, Nice looking cone surface!

Weakness:

Tweeters come factory set quite bright, but easily fixed. UK Price for me is quite high, but thats England for you.

I've been waiting to write my own review of the Diamond Hex S600 speakers for months, from what I've read I should have been impressed. I changed up from the Diamond M3 series to these and they piss on anything. I agree the tweeters are a little too loud, but simple EQ or crossover options sort that right out. For the size they belt out midbass beats and are so smooth you can smell it. Very loud, quality is stunning. Fast attack on notes and all the little bits from choons you never heard are clear and defined. The imaging is EXTREME - I sat my dad in the car who has been listening to audiophile equiptment all his life, he was blinded when he put on some acoustic guitar and couldn't work out where the speakers were!
