Strength:

They scream

Weakness:

they hurt my ears. This is the 1st pair of spaeakers after one song that absolutley killed my ears. their mid-bass was kinda weak. that titanium tweeter is a bit much at times. much rather go with a silk-dome. highs are way to bright

my boy just picked up a pair of these for 550. personally I think he should have when w the boston pro's. For 50-100 less they are a MUCH better speaker. The quarts highs are sooo ear piercing that they practically drown out his 2 12in. JLW3's. I am not kidding either. It is a total dis-pleasure to listen to his system. Don't get me wrong, they SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but are totally lacking mid to low range.

Be smart, and don't listen to the F#cking salesman on how MB QUART won 1,000,000 awards for this series, they are over priced and better speakers could be had for much less. like BOSTON PRO 6.5 POLK MOMO COMPONENTS

Weakness:

many to list--does not mix well with low/mid/high. The high is overwhelming over-drowning the mids. Give me headache as I listened to them because they hurt my ears. They sound like a widow teacher with long finger nails scratching on the blackboard. Well, you get the picture how the tweeters sound.

The sounding will shatter your windows.

Strength:

The Q series is the purest sounding component set on the market. The quality of the speaker and the tweeter is impressive. It is worth every penny to have a set of these in your car. The woofer puts out pure sounding mids and the tweeter produces bright highs well past 20Kh

Weakness:

The QSD line comes out next year, but for about 1300 a set.

I would recommend this set of speakers to any competing in sound quality competitions or anyone who wants to hear what's really on the CD. MB Quart only has one rival for quality, and that is a/d/s. For even better sound, you should use a set of Q series and a pair of 8" midbasses. I use the MB Quart referenz 8 inch for my car.

Strength:

Great mid's and high's but the one thing that was not impressive at all was the bass reflex and the weight of these speakers really weigh my ride down

Weakness:

Too expensive, and the bass reflex is kinda' week

I wouldn't recomend them at all I believe there are much better and cheaper components out there for a lot less impact on your wallet.I have had these speakers for almost a year now and believe i will put my twelves back in for a lot more of that deep bass i crave.

Every single thing it amazing about these speakers

Weakness:

There isn't a better speaker in the world for car audio. The entry level autobahn is great the Ref prem series if out of control ad the Q is audio bliss. I have been using MB Quartz for 5 years and can't find a better speaker. I have used them in 3 of my personal car systems. Right now I am using the following
MB Quart Q tweeters dash 3.5KhZ and up
MB Quart Q 4" mids dash 300hZ - 3.5KhZ
MB Quart Q 6.5 midbass door 120hZ - 300hZ
MB Quart Ref 5.25 coax rear fill 120hZ and up
Solobaric 8" sub 2 of them 70hZ - 120hZ
Solobaric L7 15"dvc 2ohm Sub 70hZ and below
Clarion 9270 receiver - a few years old but looks and sounds great
Clarion 7333 12 disk changer mounted in arm rest
Clarion DHP7000 dsp module
Xtant P500 eq
Xtant 1001dx at 1 ohm (1000 x 1) to the 15" sub
Xtant 121M at 2 ohm (250 x 1) to the 8" subs
Xtant 404M at 4 ohm (50 x 4) front to the MB 4" and tweeter
rear to the MB Quart 6.5
Xtant 202M at 4 ohm (50 X ) to the rear fill
3 farads of lightning audio capacitors
regular battery
regular alternator
lightning audio wire
stinger audio interconnects

Why the M series you moght ask well they are the only Xtant series that offers the exact power and options I needed for the system. Everything else required more passive equalization. This systen scored a 39 at its last compitition without the P500 EQ imagine now nothing less then perfect.

I design audio systems for a living for Harvy Electronic's and do car sudio for fun if you have any questions please feel free to email me @ ZZR0C00L@aol.com I love to talk audio. MB iS the best bet always

Nice punchy midbass, Super clean highs, smooth mids, and a beautifully made forged finned aluminum alloy basket.

I have had these for nearly two years, and they are still sounding strong. I have changed my system but kept the Mb Quart Q 6.5's in my kicks. and replaced everything else. The new system is the Sony C90, Xtant 603x, Xtant P500, and 2 10" Mb Quart referenz subwoofers. All i can say about the Q series is, u have to go hear it for yourself. They are just tooooo sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet~

Strength:

Very detailed, efficient speakers

Weakness:

Little bright. You need to attenuate the tweets a little. Typical of the metal dome Quart tweeters.

WOW! This product is unbelievable. The quarts are very dynamic and clean. They are very forgiving of mounting position which makes them perfect for the mobile environment. The tweeters slam you in the face with powerful sound. The midrange is a little muddy. Most likely attributed to my installation. I definately recommend these to any body looking for that extra edge in the vehicle. I was thinking. Wouldn't it be great if Quart added a 3 way Q set to the line up. Or maybe an add on, say 4" with new crossovers? 3 way Q set. WOW!

Strength:

Very clean and detailed...great imaging and great highs

Weakness:

Middle frequencies not the best I've heard, but I'll explain that...very little bass...about 80Hz or so is all they put out well even though rated to 48Hz

I love these speakers. They are a tad bright, so I'm running the tweeters at -2db. The imaging is fantastic. I am running a Sony c90 into a McIntosh MC420M into these and I love it. My car isn't extremely quiet, so I am losing part of the accuracy, but they are just great. The highs are as good as any I've ever heard. The mids are excellent, but my home stereo (Mac amp pushing a set of Klipsch Cornwalls) are better in the mids, but if you know McIntosh and you know Klipsch, then that doesn't surprise you. I listened to JL, Memphis, Alpine, Eclipse, Image Dynamics Chameleons, Pioneer Premier, Clarion Pro, even lower grade Quart and these are BY FAR the best I heard. I have heard that Diamond Audio, Focal, and Dynaudio are as good or better, but I have not heard them. These are a little pricey, especially the 6.5" retails for about $800...but in my opinion they can't be beat except by a true high end home setup.

Model Reviewed: 2000 MB Quart Referenz Premium

Strength:

Outstanding sound quality and craftsmanship.

Weakness:

No weaknesses that I can tell.

I had a pair of MB Quart Referenz Premium component 5.25 mid-woofers and tweeters installed in a 2000 BMW 528 in the factory front door locations. With 40 watt per channel amplification provided by an Alpine MRV-F400 and equalization by an AudioControl EQL, I'm amazed at the power and clarity of sound these speakers produce. I hear things now that I've never heard before in my old car with 5 year old Quarts. Crank up the volume and they just sound better. No hint of distortion or listener fatigue. Having the system tweaked by an MECP certified installer is the way to go. I paid about $450 for the pair, which come with MusiComp crossovers (a better quality crossover). The quality and subtle nuances these speakers produce are probably better suited for higher end cars with quiet, interior sound levels. With lots of interior noise such as road, wind or engine sounds, you probably wouldn't benefit from all that these speakers are capable of. I think they are a terrific value and highly recommend them

MB Quart, Polk, Boston Acoustics. The Quarts sound richer with more clarity and depth.

Strength:

These speakers are the best ones I have ever owned! They handle a decent amount of power and aren't costing an arm and a leg. I enjoy the bright highs and solid mids. Also, the crossover system is very inclusive and precise.

Weakness:

The only thing I don't like about these speakers are the fact that they don't have too much bass. I have 3 JL10w0 along with them, but without the subs, there is no bass.

I paid 200 for mine including tax and they are great for the money. I would recommend this speaker to anyone who appreciates great sound. They can satisfy even an audiophile, while priced for the priced concerned fanatic.
