Strength:

Cheap Bass (if you shop around) Accurate bass reproduction Small Easy install

Weakness:

None really. I got just what I expected. Additional low end w/o sacrificing a lot of $$ or storage space. Although, I knew this unit was small it did seem a bit bigger than I anticipated once I began the install.

I've had this sub for just over a year now and figured I'd ring in with my thoughts. Overall, I have been very satisfied with the Basslink. I installed it in my Full-size bronco without any problems or sacrificing a lot of much need space for camping gear. This sub is perfect if you are looking to round out a OEM stereo or a slightly modified car stereo system. I works especially well in trucks and SUV's where the sub in not hidden away in a trunk of a car. If you are looking to to wake up the neighbors or turn heads going down the street this item is not for you. However, it does do a fantastic job adding a little kick to a basic car stereo.

Strength:

Small, EZ to set up!

Weakness:

Price! below ave system! can get alot better for the same price.

Great for noobs who don't know jack about car audio. I demo this sub in my car a few months back just for the hell of it. Pro: -Nice tight bass. -sounds great with rock, mental, punk ect. -very small, will fit in any car no matter how much crap you have in your trunk. -EZ to use and hook up. Con: -Doesn't get very loud, so don't expect ppl to hear you from a block away. -Sounds like POS with Rap & R&B, just doesn't go low enuff. -Price! You can get a sub & amp thats 10x better then this for the same price.

Strength:

Deep and loud bass loads of settings to tweak bass relatively tiny size

Weakness:

none for the price

I purchased the Basslink with a view to adding a little extra depth to the bass provided by my Pioneer rear 6 x 9"s. I was happy with the power provided by my Sony HU but disappointed with the lack of any noteable bass from the setup. The difference now is phenomenal! I cannot beleive how such a small woofer can pump out so much deap, clear bass. It is located in the boot of my peugeot 206 and literally thumps me in the back with bass when the HU is at a moderate volume. I currently have the crossover at the half way point (95hz) and the gain/bass boost are also at halfway. Anything more than this is too much beleive me. If you are thinking of buying but are put off my the diminutive dimensions don't worry. I had my reservations about 'only' 10" but there are enough settings to tweak the bass to perfection.

Strength:

Good price don't pay much more than $200. The audio shop wanted $350. Yeah right! Doesn't take up much sapce. Easy installation. Nice features/adjustments.

Weakness:

Very loose sound. Muddy. Distorts easily. When overdriven sounds like crud.

If you're looking for some cheap bass and hoping to keep your trunk space, go for it. You'rem not going to get throbbing sound from this unit. You'll get a little extra umph. I'm glad mine is in the trunk. I wouldn't want to hear this bass without a muffling out the poor sound. I'm using high-level imputs which may account for the dissapointment in ausio clarity but overall I'm not satisfied. It looks good.

Strength:

Clear, Strong, Crisp Sound. Adjustable and easy to install as well as good range of frequency.

Weakness:

Not a sub which "bumps". Leaves no room for modification of sub or amp.

I first got one of these then decided to go with a second one just to be even louder. The sound from one is very clear and defined but not boomy. This is very appealing to some and not to others. For rock, classical, etc these clear subs will do the job more than well. I have 2 hooked up and I've noticed that it is not a good setup since they are really meant to be used individually since they are very compact. I am selling one so email me at nicolodav@yahoo.com if interested.

Strength:

- price - compact size - easy installation - better than average bass

Weakness:

- inadequate if you have a high-power component speaker setup - the sub drones despite my efforts to adjust it

This unit is a nice upgrade for a stock system -- better than average bass in one compact unit, all for $200. I had this sub in my stock system for a year. However, after upgrading to aftermarket component speakers, this subwoofer became inadequate as the bass barely cleared the mids/highs. All in all, this is a good subwoofer to own if you want some low end impact in your stock system.

Strength:

Small unit. Sounds clean with no rattling The remote controller is great also

Weakness:

The only weakness I see is it doesn't fit under my rear seat. Oh well you can't have everything

I installed this sub in my F250 Ford Ext Cab. It wouldn't fit under the seat so I installed in in the middle of the rear area. This is a great little sub. Clean hard bass. It's not one that you hear at a red light thumping but when inside the truck it sounds great. Big difference... I also don't have it mounted on the floor just in case I do need to remove it. All I need to do is unscrew 3 screws and un plug the RCA jacks and out the door it goes.

Strength:

Good deal...great performance.

Weakness:

Wish it could be smaller but it is already quite compact.

I have tried to find a reasonably priced subwoofer for my ford sporttrac for some time. There is just no space behind the rear passenger seats which left the options limited to amplifiers with 10" sub and box under the rear seats, amplifier with a two inch thick subwoofer like the Blaupunkt saucers, the Kenwood WOOX, and the Basslink. The amp-subwwofer combinations whith a box under the seat, behind the seat, or on the rear seats would have been ideal but the price was steep. At the other end...I tried the WOOX and was dissapointed by the quality and bass. The Basslink was bought based on feedback from sites just like this, and I have no regrets. The Bass is powerful and completely satisfies me. I can turn it up so loud that my mirrors are shaking and blurring the images. The reponse is listed as having a bottom end of 20Hz which is better than most subs on the market. I have no idea what SPLs mean in terms of pleasure for me...but this setup always brings a smile to my face. I keep the unit on the rear seats and just detach it when I have to... when I have to drive my parents etc. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Strength:

Small and compact, has much versatility.Remote level control is convenient. All in one unit.(no need to buy separate components;speakers, amps, crossover,)Cheap for what you get.

Weakness:

The only weakness I see is Crutchfields price of over $400.00.

I have installed this in the trunk of my ford focus and it is pretty darn easy.If you use the 4 speaker level inputs all you need extra are 8 splices and power and ground wires. This has proven to be pretty effective with my stock radio and speakers. The remote level control is very convenient and is easily concealed for a factory appearance. It is not a bass competition winner(I don't think?),but if you like to listen to music(all kinds)this would be ample.Over all I think this is a worth while investment at the price I got it for.

Strength:

small footprint tight bass remote for the bass itself

Weakness:

for what it was designed for nothing

I have a '97 dodge ram pick up standard cab this little gem is awesome it fit nicely behind passenger seat and remote for basss is handy. It does a perfect job of filling the cab with bass to make sound field bigger. If you were to turn gain up all the way it will start to distort even at low volumes because it was designed for bass not all the other music to this is why it distorts, more then enought power to make you feel it and also go deaf if that what you want to do.
