Strength:

Excellent low frequency sound. Equip with two 8" subs and have a great full range bass system. Great SQ at good SPL. Attractive. The gold bind posts are nice. If you manage the blow one the white smoke it produces is amazing.

Weakness:

Lacks in mid-bass Isn't indestructible If you blow it, the smoke really stinks.

This subwoofer was truly awesome. It was in a class of its own. In my 1.3^3 ft. box it produced the lowest of low sounds. (It also helped it was in a big trunk). The unfortunate thing is that even though it is a great sub, they do blow. The reason was that I purchased a 1200 watt amp (600 rms). The reason was that I was planning on buying another one. Having the sub on an over rated amp wasn't the brightest idea. I went to my local audio specialist to demonstrate the high quality sound, the coil must have heated up too much. I found out the coil was on its way out because there was a lot of cone noise and unpredictable volumes. A couple days later, it just stopped. I never saw so much smoke come out of a sub box :). I learned my lesson to match your sub to your amp. If not you might just lose $170.

......................

Im am into audio, i researched this sub for almost 3 yrs! just to make sure i am putting together a great sounding system. i work with some of harmon int equipment. (harmon international, owns harmon kardon, jbl, infinity) this is the only sub that i would buy.. I am very impressed and would recommend this sub to anyone, expecially to the people who like hard, clean, tight bass at low or high vols. my friend has a comp. car major sound 4 15" memphis subs with 2000w rms to each one (8000 rms to subs and 2000w rms to interior) and i still think my infinity has cleaner sound and seems more powerful at lower volumes

Strength:

Deep responsive bass Hits hella hard Sounds good with any kind of music Not very expensive Doesnt need alot of power to perform

Weakness:

Well let me think......NONE

This is absolutly the best sub I have ever heard, it can pound like a mo fo if you want it or it can accent your music and give you the sound quality you thought you could only dream of. I own a 12" kicker solobaric and the infinity perfect blows it away, would never go back to kicker again, or anything else for that matter.

- TIGHT AS HELL - LOUD - SENSATIVE - GOOD AT ANY LEVEL - GOOD PRICE IF PURCHASED FROM IKESOUND.COM THIS SPEAKER WAS FORGED IN THE HEAVENS BY THE HAND OF GOD WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM INFINITY.

Weakness:

- HURTS YOUR HEAD AND MAKES THE CAR COME APART not much really

I have had two of these in my car for a little over a month so they are still being worn in , but i do like them so far. Every week they get a little louder and tighter. You can adjust them so they blend in well , or so they give you a headache. I have two of these in a custom 2 cu. ft. box wired at 1 ohm to a sony 1000 x 1 class D. the amp level is on half and i need to turn it down because the speakers are so sensative that i dont really need all of that. they sound good for anything and can be as loud as you want. BUY THEM

Hits hard. Incredible sound quality.

Haven't found any yet.

man, talk about awesome...these subs rock. i have two of them, wired in 2ohm with 175W RMS into each voice coil as recommended. they're just awesome. as an avid audiophile, the sound quality of these subs surprised even me. they can hit HARD when you want them to, while still blending with the music. no matter what genre of music you listen to, these subs will improve the SQ a hundredfold.

Ok we just got this sub, now I am kinda an audiophile so I'm not one of those people looking for the crappist loudest thing I can put into a car, I have two alpine type R 10's in a small sealed box and have had an alpine type S in the bandpass box, we just put this sub in a junk 1.1 cubic foot box sealed crappy just a make shift box, didn't screw down the speaker just set it in wired in parallel, running onto a walmart junk $70 dollar road gear amp says 250 x 2 more like 10 x 2 but whatever, alpine cd player with BBE. This infinity plays louder on volume 4 then the two alpine type R played on volume 15.. the infinity sounds clearer, deeper, cleaner.... same amp, same deck, same car... We're going to be installing a rockford fosgate 450S amp tomorrow, we are still in break in period of the speaker which is 20-30 hours, you MUST break it in gently or else it may become damaged easily. Suggest break in 5-10 hours low volume where the woofer hardly vibrates 10-20 hours medium volume where the woofer moves about 1/8 of an inch.. clean bass, loud, smooth, wonderful

immaculate handling of power, little (very little), if any distortion at very high volume. look. and definatly the feel of how they handle sound.

Weakness:

are you kidding?

yea, i just got the 12.1ds they absolutly drop. i listen to all types of music from thumping drum and bass to acoustic guitars. the sound quality, power and over all feel is incredible. if your into rolling through the your town and seeing peoples heads turn in wanderment, from the bass, or you enjoy feeling the timpiny in the dallas symphony orchestra these subs can do it without breaking a sweat. all i can say is that infinity has shown us all just how perfect they really are.

Strength:

Power hungry. Can take almost anything you throw at it. Superb sound quality. The bass is so tight and powerful that you sometimes wonder if you have four 10"ers in your trunk. Looks sweet too!

Weakness:

Can disassemble your car! Also bad when you use it in neighborhoods :) Some say Shiva's are better when you have a vented box. Perfects are the best in a sealed box.

Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D (Dual Voice Coil). This subwoofer ROCKS! It not only rocks the car and my head, but it also rocks my neighbors living room (Word to the wise: becareful where you play this thing, it WILL piss off people.. especially neighborhoods ;) ) I'm running the perfect off of a JBL BP600.1. 300 watts into each voice coil. 600 watts total (Probably more since JBL amps are underrated). Make sure you break in the sub for awhile before you crank it all the way up. My friend has two Perfect 12" (Single VC) in a custom box (around 7 cubic feet). I try to stay away from his car because I know that one day the windshield is going to shatter in my face.

Strength:

Clean, powerful sound. 1400 watts peak power handling, dual voice coil design get max. power from available amps. Smooth sound blends in well, but can also stand out if you'd like it to.

Weakness:

Can sometimes blend in TOO well, making you wonder if it's working. Rest assured, it is.

I am extremely impressed with this subwoofer. I've only been using it for a little over a month, and the sound is just incredible. I'm using it in a 1 Cubic foot sealed enclosure, like Infinity suggests. I've got a Rockford amp pushing 150watts RMS to each voice coil in a 2 Ohm load, and this thing puts out clean, deep, powerful bass. In this set up, it isn't very boomy, so some rap fans may not like it as much- it may work better in a ported box for rap. But for techno, hard rock and heavy metal (what I listen to most of the time) it is awesome. This sub replaced 2 10" Polk EX subs- and man am I glad I made the switch. No more boomy, sometimes sloppy bass- just clean, accurate, and LOUD (when I want it to be) sound! This sub really blends in w/the music, and I like that alot. The EX's had certain frequencies that really stood out and sounded unnatural. That doesn't seem to be the case w/the 12.1D. I'm just sorry I didn't make the switch sooner.
