Strength:

Insane Excursion, Hi power handling, look sweet, LOUD

Weakness:

deeper than most (new boxes)

I had a pair of Phoenix Gold QX10's, powered off of 2 230w Sony Amps, and just about blew the PG's. The 2 Perfects get the same power and keep going. The Kappa's hit so hard, they move over an inch total, look amazing, and can beat the hell out of anything else I've seen.

Model Reviewed: infinity kappa perfect 10.1

Strength:

Everything. Hits hard, hits loud, hits deep and clear--and they look cooler than Shaft (makes me wanna drive with my trunk open and yell "look at them damn you, LOOK AT THEM!!!---but I don't).

Weakness:

None so far

I picked up 2 of these on ebay for an amazing $145 a piece brand new! Believe the hype. These 10's hit hard, loud and deep--everything you want out of a sub. I've got a sony xplod amp pushing about 300rms watts to each sub, and it's plenty. If you've got about $300 to spend for a couple of subs, I highly recommend checking out ebay to pick up a couple of these---you shant be dissapointed.

Had two MTX 6000 subs, needless to say the kappa's blow the MTX's out of the water--as they should, since the kappa's retail for $300, and the 6000's for $129.

Strength:

beauty and brawn!! Great woofers.

Weakness:

None.

I had these speakers in my Jeep and my Civic. I have nothing but good things to say about these speakers. The white aluminum face and the cast metal basket is beautiful and begs to be shown off. The sound quality rivals any woofers on the market.

JL Audio 12W6...I was always a JL fan but wanted something different since JL is played out. I was very impressed with the sound quality and sound level of these speakers. They are just as good if not better than the JL line. THe Aluminum cone does not distort, even at high SPL levels.

Strength:

-Great overall performance
-Play loud and low
-Look good
-Only need 1cu. ft. space per sub.
-Great warranty service

Weakness:

If you don't give them alot of clean power they will not perform the way they should and the wire connecting the positive terminal to the coil could burn off.

In my last car (a 95' Mazda 626) I had two Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 subwoofers being powered solely by a Rockford 500a2. I had them in a sealed box consuming 1.25 cu. ft. which was a prefab box and it turned out that the cutouts were slightly oversized so it leaked a little. Even under these circumstances those subs pounded louder and clearer that any two subs I've ever heard. Last summer there was a Rockford Fosgate competition at a local car audio shop and I figured It would be fun just to stop in and at least get my db tested. To my suprise I claimed second place in my class with 149.8 db. This was even without my trunk being sound proofed and having a bunch of junk in it at the same time. I recently picked up a Honda Civic EX with which I am in the process of installing four 12" perfects and 2 Alpine MRV-1507 amplifiers. When it's all hooked up I'll give another review and I'm sure it will be a good one. For all of those cheap enthusiats who can't afford a good amp and say that these subs blow out even though they are only giving them a 100 watts a piece from their Jensen amplifier shouldn't be able to submit an opinion and shouldn't have been allowed to purchase these incredible subs. If you are going to try to power exteme performance subs with a low end amp then you obviously are not going to get what these subs are designed to give -- Maximum volume and SQ. Next time try matching quality with quality. Anyways, Infinity has a great warranty policy if for some reason you do happen to blow one of your subs out.

Strength:

DEEP, tight, responsive bass with no overhang or unecessary rumbling. Where I live, the cops rape you with noise ordinances, and surprisingly enough, the sound isnt so loud outside the car as most subwoofers, which lets me play it as loud as a please worry free. (except for that damned spoiler rattling.)

Weakness:

None yet so far, I dont want to make this sound too high and mighty, but as of yet I havent found anything to list as a weakness, except the fact I'm not pushing as much power too it as I would like/

Best sub I've ever heard. Fits every kind of music I can think of, no overhang, nice tight, low bass. Only have one, in a custom made sealed enclosure with about 1.2 cubic ft. Running off of an Infinity 255a amp that also powers a set of infinity kappa 6 1/2component set and separate polk 5 1/4 midrange. So the Perfect is only getting 200 watts, but it sounds like its getting much more than that. Hopefully soon I will be able to run to separate amps and push a nice 500-600 to it and see how it sounds then. This sub is PERFECT for a system that covers all bases, tweets, mids, woofers and subs. And like I said, this sub compliments everything from Jungle to classical, sublime to slipknot to raekwon. Highly recommended

Kicker Comp 12's.
Not to knock the Kickers at all, they're definitely good subs, but I had two of those, running 300 to each. The perfect is by itself only getting 200 and is equal to better than they are in every category.

Strength:

Looks, durabilty, sound quality.

Weakness:

None except for the fact that I should've bought a pair earlier.

Excellent speakers with out taking out a loan. Browsing on ebay one day and seen a pair of infinity's that I decided to bid on. Shortly after, I was the proud owner of 2 12" infinity perfects. I try not to brag alot or try to push these speakers off on other people, but if you get these subs you will get your money's worth. The pound great, and you don't need 100000000 watts either. If you would like to compete in a db drag and would like to stay in the lower wattage classes, go with this sub. It works wonders with even 450 watts.

Strength:

Read the other reviews, just about everything a sub can have good in it is present in the Perfect 12. Just make sure you don't pay retail. Also, yes put them in a larger box than recommended. 1.25 is just about right, and give them a good clean 500+W each

Weakness:

The only thing i can think of is that they are a little sensitive on the install. Mess up the seal on a box and you can mess up the sub. Definately made for sealed enclosures only. But if you know what you're doing, there shouldnt be a problem.

I'm sure you all have heard enough about how these things sound. I bought 2 of them over a year ago. Pretty much, for the price you can get them at now, they are worth it! I just wanted to make sure everybody knows a few things about these subs. First, get them from an authorized dealer. The warranty is spectacular. The British guy that was complaining about the service seems to just be too lazy to figure it out. I had no problem contacting Harman-Kardon the company that owns Infinity. Come on.. the number is right off the website! You have to be an idiot to not understand how to dial a number, listen to a recording, press 1 or 2 or 4 a couple times and end up in warranty service. I messed up my box and noticed a slight decrease in spl from the subs, so I called up Infinity. within 2 weeks I had a brand new pair of Perfects on my doorstep, no questions asked, didn't even have to send in my original subs. They treat their customers so well it actually scared me to find this a) in America and b) when dealing with car audio.. I dont know about you but i have had some bad experiences with shady companies and shops. im sure we all have. The subs are great, you know that from the other reviews, but I just wanted to let you know that Infinity definately understands how to make the customer happy, and will even risk loss to make sure you are a returning customer.
BTW those original 2 subs are still working even after all those mistakes I made on the first install. When playing one of the old ones with the new one I got from warranty, you can hardly tell the difference. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my hands on my dream ride, and you can see/hear a Supra Turbo flying down the streets of Southern Cali bumping 4 Perfect 12s

Similar Products Used:

I'd say the SQ is comparable to a jl w6.. but for less money and backed by a better warranty. If you are a 16 year old kid that wants to throw some jensens in a gigantic bandpass box and brag because yours is "louder" (despite the fact that it wont let you hear the difference between 40hz, 100hz, or vacuum sucking up a golf ball) then dont' buy Perfects. But if you want a perfect combination of SQ and SPL, they're worth listening to. One last thing, before you go out and rip on a sub or amp, even a brand in general (i.e. the lanzar generalization) make sure you have a little proof. Because while you're looking for a reason to back your claim, you might find out you're wrong. When you hear somebody complaining and telling everybody "this sub is crap" because they messed up on the install or are lazy and aren't willing to accept it, it can make people believe something that isnt true. When you're looking for your system, don't just take one person's word on whats the best. Look at more than 10 reviews before you even decide to try something out.

great squality, never distort, very spl lous, can hit as low as you can go!

Weakness:

clipped at high db gain for some odd reason. dont htink it was the speaker though maybe box size

These subs are just kick ass in every way. Not one flaw about them. But at really high spl lvl when my gain on my infinity beta digital 300 (1000x1 or 300x2 or 500x2 in parallel which i was using) was up past half way it would start cliping. i used the standard hatch boxes on the 2 12's that came from crutchfield. i was using 4 guage wire. anywone know why this would happen? if so plz let me know. Otherwise they are the best subs i've ever heard along with the alumapro 12's

Strength:

High quality materials (aluminun, poly rubber) low space required, LOUD as hell for 1 12" Great excursion, Plays great on only 300 W RMS

Weakness:

Rumbles so much on the lows your glass and trunk lid will shake like crazy...

LOVE THIS SUB!! It was my first install on my Volvo 240, and didnt want to take up alot of room so i made a sealed 1.25ft box an hooked er up... Plays clean, very loud, an the low end rumble was enough to pop my trunk latch at 45 out of 60 on my HU... If your box is not totally sealed you will get some flutter out of it (as with every sub) so just make sure it well sealed. I only have 300 RMS going to it, an its just brutal for only half the reccomended power.

Pioneer 12" DVC IMPP No comparison, tho it is a more expensive sub, it will beat 2 12" pioneers in overall performance
