Strength:

Sound, Looks, Huge Magnet, Customer Service(Company in general)

Weakness:

Price, reliability

Well when I first got this speaker I couldnt belive how huge the magnet really is, I had to build a new box just so it would fit. Overall the speaker has the deepest bass I have ever heard out of subwoofer. There is just one problem, I only can get them to last a few months before they become blown. At first I thought it was my amp but after talking to some others they have had the same problem. The customer service is excellent and they were real helpful when I called to complain. I still recomend this subwoofer but be careful cause it is an expenisive speaker to be going through in under 6 months.

Weakness? whats a weakness (j/k)

Well i got 2 infinity perfect 10"s just from word of mouth for how good they are. I've never heard them before but people say there good so i went ahead and got them. I got a box that is made correctly for them and there running off a Rockford Fosgate 1100a2 (the beast). Its only running at 4 ohms right now because i need a couple capacitors if i want to drop the impedance but for running 4 ohms these little 10"s out pound any 2 12" sub setup ive ever heard. My buddies have JL w3's, kicker comp', pioneers etc........and these little 10"s hit SOOOOOO hard. I have a 2 farad CAP on the way and as soon as it gets hear i will bridge the amp, its gonna be scary.

Strength:

They BLAST! These subs are totally BLAST! Nothing I could get for the price is nearly as BLAST! These subs have awesome efficiency, awesome lows, and they're very reliable.

Weakness:

Well lets see..... They both broke after some hardkore competing, but thats all thats bad.

These Infinitys are more than what they say they are. I put 2 in my '92 Continental and they get 125db easy. They also sound better than just about anything around and definatly sound better than ANYTHING you can get for $200. PLus if they break from trying to wire them all wrong like mine did, Infinity will be happy to replace them, counting that you bought them from a real place and the 2 year warranty hasn't expired.

Strength:

Does not seem to distort, no matter what I throw at it. Very good value. I perfect 12 does the job of my two fosgate 12's, with 400 watts from an Infinity Beta Digital 100. As soon as I can afford another digital 100, I'll be able to hook up the second one I bought. It saddens me to see it sit around in such a useless state.

Weakness:

haven't really found one at this point. The thing I love about these things is that all of sudden my old music is tight again because I've never heard it at this level of quality.

these subs are great ish, I can't really imagine wanting anything more. I'm still trying to figure out if it will be healthy to install the second sub, you know for my stomach or my hearing. Then I think....... f*#k it! Best woofer I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

Similar Products Used:

I guess in that respect, I'm lacking, I've only owned one set of subs prior to these, two rockford 1812 xlc's. Terrible exuse for a woofer, but I wasn't too fat in the pockets at the time so I went cheap. Let me tell you from experience: save your money, if you can't buy what you want, wait til' you can.

Strength:

Good looks, great sound. Hits really, really low.

Weakness:

Haven't discovered any so far.

I paid $300 with a box from Crutchfield. I really like this sub and I am planning to buy another one as soon as I get more money. I am powering it with a Profile 640 amp, so when I get the other sub I will have each one getting 225 watts RMS. I would totally recommend this sub for the sound quality. It is the best I have heard anywhere. It hits notes the JL Audio couldn't even touch.

Similar Products Used:

JL Audio 12WO. I had this sub for 2 months and was dissapointed, so I sold it at a loss. It could get the car shaking pretty good, but it distorted at higher volumes, and didn't hit that hard. Also the sound quality was nothing to talk about. Compared to the JL Audio, the Infinity is AWESOME. I am just mad that I didn't buy this in the first place.

Strength:

These subs are the best, I have hit over 142.1db's with these subs and they still work awsome. They are very clean and drop hard. 2 perfects will beat 4 of anything else hands down.

Weakness:

Hard to keep clean, the outer seal broke on mine but it was glued back in place.

If you have the money to buy these subs and a HUGE amp go for it!

Strength:

Very good looks - tight, accurate bass - will get VERY loud

Weakness:

These things sound so good that you may lose your hearing from playing them so loud. :)

If I could choose any subwoofer on the market I would choose the Infinity Perfect 12.1. They are built with very expensive, high quality materials and are also very efficient (96 SPL).

The first thing I liked about the Perfect 12.1s was their great looks, they have a nice white aluminum cone with shiny black trim around the outside of the rubber surround, and HUGE magnets (15lb. each!) But when I heard them for the first time, I couldn't believe my ears. They truly are perfect. These subs have EXCELLENT sound quality, and have very accurate bass response. They will play all types of music very well. They play the hard hits, and the long low notes as well. They make your music sound great, without being overwhelming.

One Perfect 12.1 is definitely all you probably need, but a pair of Perfect 12.1s will put a smile on anyones face. :) I have a 2 Infinity Perfect 12.1s in the back of my Explorer, and it sounds excellent. The Infinitys will get VERY loud and hit EXTREMELY hard. You owe it to yourself to at least listen to a Perfect 12.1 before you buy any other sub. With the right amp, these things will cause an earthquake. I have an Infinity Beta Digital 300 amp powering my 2 subs, with each sub getting 500w RMS, and I wouldn't give em more than that, not that they couldn't take it, but 500w RMS is PLENTY..... trust me :) My gain is almost all the way down, and the sub setting on my cd player (DEH-P8200R) is set at 0 (it goes up to +6), the loud mode is on Low (it goes to Medium, then High), and the EQ is set to Vocal (which has hardly any boost in the bass frequencies) and my subs could get loud enough to make your ears bleed. So my point is that they aren't even being pushed hard, yet they hit hard and sound great. I would recommend at least 150w RMS, but 500w will really shatter some glass.

Now I know that $400(retail price) per sub sounds like a lot of money, and yes, it is. But considering the quality of sub you are getting, they are TOTALLY worth it. Shop around and look on the internet, and you'll find them for much cheaper than that. Crutchfield sells them for $300 and they come with a free box. If you want them really cheap, there are some wholesale sites on the internet (buyer beware) that sell them for under $200. However, I got my Perfects from a very good, friendly site for only $189 each.

The Perfect 12.1s will work in 1.0 cu. ft. per sub, but I've heard that they sound better with 1.25 - 1.5 cu. ft., so I went with 1.5 cu. ft.

The bottom line is that these subs are excellent, and Infinity is an EXCELLENT company. They are very nice people too. I emailed Infinity and asked if they had any stickers I could buy. They sent me a pair of nice big stickers for absolutely free. If you buy Infinity Perfect 12.1(s), you will definitely be happy. My advice is, if you can't afford them right now, save up until you can because 2 mid level 12s (MTX, Pioneer, Kicker) won't stand a chance against a pair of Perfect 12.1s.

Anyway, I am VERY happy with my Perfects and will never buy any other sub or speaker thats not Infinity.

If you have any questions, I'll tell you what I can about these subs, and where you can find them for a great price.

I WAS VERY VERY WRONG ABOUT THESE SUBS. I WROTE A REVIEW FOR THESE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I THOUGHT THEY WERE INCREDIBLE............HELL NO... I BOUGHT 2 ROCKFORD FOSGATE HX2 12 INCH SUBS THAT BLOW ALL SUBS AWAY. THE ONLY OTHER SUBS I WOULD BUY ARE THE RF PUNCH POWER, ALPINE R-TYPE OR THE VHP-12 BY MEMPHIS.(MEMPHIS SUBS HAVE A 300 OZ MAGNET AND ARE TWO SUBS STACKED ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, THEY ARE INSANE BUT GO FOR $900 FOR A 12)

Strength:

The sub has very good response and high effiency. It also requires only 1 foot of air space in a box. Aluminum cone does distort as much as paper of poly cones.

Weakness:

Low power handling. I push it with a rockford 360a2 bridged putting out 360 watts. When I turn it up listening to the bass in Korn or Beastie Boys, the sub distorts. You can hear the rubber surround make wierd noises.

I paid $299 from Crutchfield and it came with a box and a small amount of polyfill. The box had about .75 feet of air space. The sub gets loud but when I turn it up, one can barely hear it out side of my truck. It is a good sub for rock, metal, alternative but not rap. It is great for a low power system. I thought it would hit better. Kind of a high price for the sound output.
