Strength:

BIg magnet, low bass, cheap price, Takes alot of power

Weakness:

none so far

I have had the Swr-1241D for about two weeks. It is a good sounding sub. pounds hard, but i just need airspace to let more of the bass out. Im pushing it with a rockford fostgate power 550s bridged mono. So it can take more than the rated 300 rms

Strength:

big bang for buck

Weakness:

Deeeeep magnets 7whole inchs

I have always pro JL but that has all changed I installed two 1240's in a 1ft sealed box reverse mounted. The magnets look so good you have to show them off and it helped for the install because of the cage size. Its hard to breath when these things are pounding at 400watts a piece rms.

Strength:

Low Price Tight Sound High-tech looks

Weakness:

Should have made it an all out SQ sub instead of an inbetween SQ & SPL sub still an amazing sub for the price

I've only very recently purchased this sub 2 days ago to be exact. When i heard them in the shop, i knew i had to have them, nothing in the price range was as good. the Alpine SWR/1240 hits hard, reaches lower frequencies and most of all in the right enclosure 1.2cu/ft is very tight. Only subs i've heard that are tighter are the 12" Alpine DDDrive and Boston Accoustics Pro Series 12.5LF

Alpine 12" DDDrive (never owned one but have heard it many times) Boston Accoustice Pro-Series 12.5LF (ultimate sub, wish i could afford one of these babies)

Extremely clear distorion free sound.

Weakness:

none

These subs are incredible. I have them powered by a bazoka EL 1500 600 watt amp. I bridged them at 2 ohms. They are the hardest hitting most powerful subs for the money. they have a muc better sound than the toe rockford fosgate 15's my friend has.

Hits HARD, low and DeEp. That's all that needs to be said about these speakers.

Weakness:

I'm affaid by spoiler will soon break in half one day and my feels like it is falling apart.

I had these speakers for only two days and man, these suckers pound like no other. I'm powering them with Expert V12 MPV-1505 dropping them down to 2 ohms by series of parrallel. I have parents closing there windows and covering there kid's ear when I pull in back or beside them at a stop light. I recommend these speakers totally!

Strength:

MAJOR excursion, HIGH power handling, Amazing sound quality even at high volume, Built to last

Weakness:

NONE!!

I'm running a single R12 in a .85 cf. sealed box in the hatch of my '98 Eclipse. It's powered with an Alpine MRD-500 At 2 ohms. Getting well over its max rated 1000 watts. This thing pounds like no other. Its replacing 3 Fosgate 10's and I can't even begin to tell you the difference in SQ AND volume. A buddy of mine has 2 Pioneer 12's and I put him to shame.

Strength:

*Loud *Big range of frequencies *Great sound

Weakness:

Can scratch rather easily(as I unfortunately found out by leaving my golf bag in my trunk and the zipper rattled against it and put a big gash in it :( )

These are the 12's to get. I have two of them powered by a Rockford Fosgate 4-channel, 800W amp, and they're loud. They handle many more frequencies than they tell you. Just today I turned my amp to full range and turned on a race on the radio and some friends and I had the trunk open and were listening to the race from about 40 feet away- it sounded like we were in a house with a great home theater system. Also, I have a bass tester that goes below the human range of hearing (20 hz.) and they handle it down to the range where I can't hear it anymore (except for the rattling). I'm going to get two type-R 15" DVC 2 ohm subs to replace these because I like the Alpine type-R's so much.

Not a damn one

These subs are some of the best out there. I have two 12's in a four wall bandpass box, powered by an Alpine 1507. They push more than enough air for my Yukon.
