Strength:

good looks and good sound, excellent price

Weakness:

I dont feel they can handle 1000rms

Lets start by saying for the money, there a great buy. My girlfriend and I like loud bass but have little money. We bargan shopped for a while but thank god we found these. Next for power we bought an mtx81000d for about $450 from thezeb.com. In a 92 Dodge Shadow with the back seat folded down and 8 gauge power wire we hit 142.8 db. We have a bad speaker box too but these subs were impressive. The comp was run by a local stereo shop that over rates and over prices JL and fosgate products, they were acting like they didnt notice my car but at the end of the comp we were noyiced...big time. Pretty proud moment for me...

Weakness:

Quality-- had to send one of these back because spider broke off the frame. After recieving another woofer, the rubber surround seemed to have peeled off the cone in certain areas. Easily fixed with some silicon or rubber sealant.

Well my second woofer is here. This time the rubber surround seemed to have peeled off the cone a little bit in different areas. So I applied a little bit of liquid nails (similar to rubber cement), and it solved the problem. This time I put it in a smaller box, measuring 1.0 cubic feet. The woofer performs about as well as it did in my 1.25 cubic foot box. However it doesn't hit the lows as well as the bigger box, and the SPL levels are about equal. I would definately recommend the smaller box over the larger one, as the cone is much more stiff and can handle all the power you can throw at it without bottoming out. I can really crank up my A3200E, and the woofer doesn't bottom out at all. It did when it was in the larger enclosure. I would definately recommend buying this woofer, and you will not find a comparable on in this league of pricing. The sound quality is amazing, every note stands out with detail. Just do the math, pick a small enclosure like Audiobahn suggests, and you won't be dissapointed. Also put polyfill in the box (About 20%), because it makes the woofer perform as if it were in a bigger box (lower bass, without the bottoming).

Sweet looks/good sq (if givin enough power.... Will hand what you throw at it in a small 1 ft box hith ease

Weakness:

lets see...dual 6 ohm voice coils (wish they were 4 ohm) sucks power like an angry mofo.

Well I hooked them up finaly and they sound quite good. The only thing I hate about these subs is that they are power mad. I Right now am using a Coustic 600se (temporarlily intill I get my JBL 1200.1) with only one briged at 3 ohms. It does get loud to the average person. But it only sounds like theres about 150-200 watts going to the speaker Prabably getting in the mid 120 db's. I hope it sounds better when I get my other amp. Overall I'm pleased with sound quality. It hits highs average and lows very well. Great sub for a sound quality spl system.

Strength:

they are the best subs that i have ever heard. they do not take alot of room to move and they move well at that. i have (3) aluminum X series and (2) A-1300HCX amps and it sounds fine. so mike should shut his hole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weakness:

they don't go as deep as desired.

they make everything in my car shake and if i have it up to loud it gives me a headach and every one within a block or 3 one too. i think they are also good for your money and the 2001 s look very nice.

my advise is to anyone who is getting these subs or has them already port your boxes ---- have a 15.19 inch port 3" round and a box size of about 1.89 if you don't belive me call audiobahn and ask for shawn.

Very good sound quality

Weakness:

Can't handle a ton of power

These subs are a great value. They are perfect for any system. I have mine in a Q-Logic bandpass box with an Alpine 100M mono amp in a '91 4Runner and they sound great. I would recommend these subwoofers to anybody.

Strength:

The price is ok, they look pretty damn cool, but the sound quality isn't as good as the sub looks.

Weakness:

Sound quality, and power needed to run them

These subs aren't too expensive, but what you get for the money is almost nothing. You get a damn good looking system, but it sounds like crap. I'd only recommend these to people building a system on a budget and want a good looking setup. If you want the good looking chrome subs, and you can afford them, go with the eclipse's. They look good, sound good, and can handle almost any ammount of power you give them.

Strength:

A stong well built sub. Heavy duty enough to stand up to the punishment I but my sound system through and still keep coming back for more.

Weakness:

Don't make a dual four ohm version. Don't make them in a 15" or 18" model.

Great sounding sub. Would not trade them for the world. They hit as low as I need them to and they handle all the power that I am throwing at them with plenty of head room to spare.

The latest version of these Alum. subs can be placed in a larger box (larger than the last version) and still give great sound quality. I have mine in a 4.3 cubic foot ported box with 3" flared alum. ports. I talked to a tech from Audiobahn and with all the information that I gave him on a box that I already built he told me the Alum10x subs would work perfect in the 4.3 cubic foot box. Another thing people keep in mind is that this is the exact same sub that Eclipes is selling and the only difference is that you will pay more if you by the Alum. sub with Eclipes name stamped on it. Why would you pay more money for the exact same sub? You are only paying for the name. Audiobahn has the exact same Alum. sub as Eclipes only at a much cheaper price.

Strength:

AMAZING Sound quality without sacrificing SPL. This woofer is absolutely amazing. High power handling, sleek looks, rigid cone, great sub!!

Weakness:

This woofer has no weaknesses.

This sub absolutely kills every other sub I have owned or heard. The sub i have use most recently is an Eclipse Aluminum 15. A pair of these 12s is significantly louder, and about 9 million times cleaner. Also, a freind of mine has a stroker 15, and it sucks in comparison (unless you like headaches) cause it hos NO clarity whatsoever. These subs are built on the premise of amazing sound quality and they definately come through there. The amazing thing about these subs is the fact that they are so loud too. Right now I am running a Pioneer Premier Deck (DEH-P5200) and an Audiobahn A1300HCX amplifier. I have the subs wired to 1.5 ohms and this amps makes them absolutely bounce! The voice coils have never slapped against the magnet (like my eclipse did all the time) and they have never distorted (I have tried). These subs are absolutely incredible and I would reccomend them to anyone.
