This sub absolutly kills anything in this state i ordered 4 and have only a MTX 500D amp so ive hooked up 2 absolutly destructive
Weakness:
None I have a pioneer 9200 face unit and a MTX 500D amp with 2 audiobahn aluminium 12's. In the school parking lot i turned the gahn all the way up and the subs rattled the windows in my school the cop came out and made me turn it down. But i definatly would recommend this sub for the price and quality. The 2001 series are killers but definatly make the small seeled box not a ported one. Similar Products Used: nothing |

Strength:
Great sound quality, very good clarity, hits every note with detail. Unbelievable excursion. Moves at least 1-2 inches. Built like a tank, I have yet to see any other sub constructed as well as this one.
Weakness:
SIZE (more like a 12.5" woofer)! Be prepared to pull out the jigsaw unless you are constructing the box yourself. Will not fit in standard 12" enclosure. My lack of tools, prompted me to pull out a steak knife and start cutting the MDF. It's only about 1/4 inch off, so 10 minutes with the steak knife, and it fit just fine. Also the sensitivity on this thing leaves something to be desired. Had to turn gain all the way up, and bass is at 0 on my deck. First let me detail my system.... I've got a JVC El Kameleon deck w/ one two volt preout. I've got an Audiobahn A3200E (860w x 1 @ 4 ohms). I bought this thing and put it in a 1.2 cubic foot sealed box w/ about 20% polyester fiberfill stuffing (covering the walls), like Audiobahn suggests. I wired the voice coils in parallel creating a 3 ohm mono load, and stuck it to the A3200E amp. Most likely the amp is pushing about 960 watts RMS to this one woofer. And despite what other people have been saying (that the audiobahn doesn't handle the 1000 rms like audiobahn says), this woofer handles all 960 watts very well. The sound quality is excellent. The SPLs are not as good as I thought, considering i'm throwing 960 watts at it, but compares to a pair of good 10's. Put two of these in your car, and you'll definately be happy. Similar Products Used: One of these (what I have) will compare nicely to a good pair of 10's. Something along the line of a couple 10" Infinity Reference. But this thing hits the lows better than any two 10's I've ever heard. I've heard two JL 12w3's in a bandpass box, and that hit harder than one Audiobahn 12". But I guarantee once I buy another one of these babies, I'll be outhitting any JL combination on the planet. |

Strength:
This sub kills. It is the best subwoofer known to man. Nothing can defeat this sub. I have heard many subs and nothing i have heard is better. Don't think, just go buy one, or two or three.
Weakness:
The spoiler on my car is about to fall off cause my one twelve hits so hard, I also can't see out of my rear view mirror. Other than that, just almost every other sub on the market. First off, my system consists of a fosgate deck, which are semi-nice decks, a lightning audio cap, a a2600e audiobahn amp running my one twelve @ three ohms. It is in a sealed box with about 1.2 cubic feet of space. I know it may be a little large but it sounds better than a smaller box to me. This sub has many strengths, so I will list them. It has a fat rubber surround an aluminum cone and dvc setup. It has 31mm of xmax, which is insane, it also has a chrome finished 120oz magnet and handles 1000 watts RMS. Now, what other sub in a reasonable price range can compare with this. This sub features excellent sound quality. I am able to hit easily 115dbs with one twelve. Thats pretty good and is good enough for me. This sub has over 96db of sensitivity which is among the highest i know of. MTX 8000 for example have 85dbs. Nothing beats this sub. For 120 dollars setup with an audiobahn amp, which is awesome, it can't be beat. I personally am pushing around 650-700 watts rms to my sub and it could take more. For an awesome setup for great sq and good spl get a alum12 with a audiobahn a2800e amp to push around 900 watts rms. I have owned and heard other setups and no one can compete with me for bass. Audiobahn rules, screw anyone else. This is the ruler of all subs. Go buy one now. Similar Products Used: jl w3, w6, fosgate, infinity perfect(which is a nice sub) vega, image dynamics, kicker |

Strength:
Good power handling. Lots of mechanical xmax. Ultra low bass (Bass Mechanic CD) hits harder than any sub I've heard. Bass extension is incredible and you can hear the difference between bass notes of only a few hz difference clearly. Looks awesome.
Weakness:
Cooling port on magnet/motor assembly makes some noise at very high excursions. Had to mount it facing into a sealed box. Otherwise the air cooling heats up your enclosure in no time = dangerous (with any sub). Would definitely recommend it. If you can't afford this one try Audiobahn's AW1200. www.sound-creations has cheapest prices around. Make sure to check first if they have it in stock and order then otherwise could be long wait. Strength:
Sound quality is the biggest difference between these and paper cone. As good if not better than the Eclipse model.
Weakness:
Audiobahn doesn't make them in a 15" or 18" sub. Unsurpassed clarity. Extreme deepness in tone.I have three hooked up to a A2150HC @ 14.4 volts at a 1ohm load and I shake God's mirrors. |

alum 12 modified
Strength:
(My modified version) Unsurpassed clarity, deepest sub I know of, can hit pretty hard, incredible detail to sound.
Weakness:
It can`t hit notes above 75 hertz, actually it can`t even play them. Not very full range, It has a rattle on bass between 18 - 24 hertz but only on high input bass cd`s. I bought three alum 12`s from a guy on a review place like this. This is one of them that I have fixed, actually I had to modify it. It was blown so horribly that I had to hand make a new spider, hand wrap a new voice coil (not fun), hand file various parts, and machine other parts. I made the spider with an "fs" of 4 hertz, once it was all put together it`s "fs" was 7 hertz with the capability of being tuned down to 6 hertz. The sensitivity is in the low 80`s, but still pushes full throw at 700 watts. It has no trouble reproducing organ music with perfect clarity, or the deepest songs that rap has to throw at it. It doesn`t even really need a crossover because it is so deep. If you have ever had a system that can flex the door panels you know what this sounds like. I like the smooth way it can hit the low bass on track 16 of Master P Ghetto D it doesnt even have much trouble with track 6 of the Beelow Ballaholic cd and that is out of a small box I have yet to listen to it in a large one. A regular alum 12 doesn`t compare to the clarity of this sub, and I doubt that an Infinity perfect could stand up to my clarity. Similar Products Used: I have used a regular Audiobahn alum 12, Audiobahn 18, Audiobahn 15 (Ultra Excursions), many Jl products, pioneer premier, cerwin vega, etc... nothing compares to it`s clarity or depth. |

Weakness:
Quality---- This is a follow up review to the one I posted earlier (should be below this one). My woofer ran like a champ for about a week. I was very very pleased. However it seems to have broken. I started hearing loud rattles in my trunk, and just figured it was my car rattling. Well one day I opened the trunk to find out, and it was the woofer that was making the rattles. Being very frustrated, I figured I blew the woofer by bridging it to my A3200E amp (in excess of 1000 watts @ 3 ohms). So I took the woofer out of my sealed enclosure, and whadddya know--- it was a manufacturer's defect. The little metal ring that surrounded the spider (which attaches the spider to the frame), came off somehow. The glue broke off, and the spider was left just hanging there (but still attached to the cone)... Not sure exactly how good the quality is, this leaves me some doubt. Hopefully my second woofer (should be here in a couple days) won't suffer the same fate. Similar Products Used: See review below. |

very deep and clean bass. . LOUD. Great quality, hits harder then any sub i've heard (in a bandpass). Looks very cool.
Weakness:
high bass is not good with these (unless put in a bandpass) 2 of four 12'2 hooked up to only 800 watts and hit 152 dbs, (the other two being audiobahn aw1200's) hookes up to 800 watts total. Everyone marvles over the attractive looks these sucker have, looks expensive but it really isnt, i can fool poeple into thinking that i paid over $500 a piece for these and they believe me! Pretty soon these are going to be contenders for a state record. Similar Products Used: Pioneer Premier IMPP. eclips. RF. JL. DD |

everything These suck.I hooked them up as soon as I got them, started them up, and BLEW THEM RIGHT AWAY. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't even listen to them for 5 seconds before blowing them. Its rediculous!!! I was only feeding them 4,000 watts each and listened to hardcore gangsta rap, and I blew them!!! If a sub can't handle rap bass, it doesn't deserve to be put in a car!! These are stupid subs and are a waste of you money. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT BUY THEM!!! you should get my old system of 12 eclipse titanium series,, those bump like bad boys!!! Avoid these so called ""subwoofers"" like a disease!!! Similar Products Used: 12 eclipse aluminum's |

Looks awesome
Weakness:
Look so good they will be stolen in a week! I got 2 alum12x's and put them in a sealed 3cu/ft box in a ford explorer. I'm powering them with an Audiobahn A12001D, so they are getting ~500 watts each at 1.5ohms. These things kick butt. They are posting over 145dB at 14.4 volts (meter only went to 145 and they are higher than that, i'm guessing 150-152dB). I'm taking these to a competition in about 2 weeks after they are broken in to see how well they do, i'm pretty sure i'll do well, if not win, in my class. You can't go wrong with these, they go -extremely- low yet they can hit real hard and really clearly. The only worry i have is they look so dammed cool that they are gonna be stolen in about a week! BTW, the amp looks sweet too with all its blue lights. Similar Products Used: None |
