Strength:

Powerful output without distortion, Gets stronger with lower and lower bass, more impressive output and overall performance than the Vega 12", and will definately crush any little Mtx or low end Rockford that is in the same price range. Can't say enough...

Weakness:

Only owned these subs for a few days, but no weaknesses so far!

I just got these subs after reading many reviews and being dissatisfied with the performance of my previous Orion Cobalt drivers. All I can say is that they are every bit as good as people make them sound on this forum. They are massive speakers, have a huge surround, and seem to have an unbounded capacity for low frequency output. I would buy these speakers again, and thank you to everybody that let me know about them on this forum!

Strength:

high power handling smooth, strong lows

Weakness:

power-hungry but you shouldnt have to worry about that if your amp is solid

i bought these and could not afford the amp right away so i hooked them up to a kenwood 460 rms amp to break them in. They are barely moving and theyre pretty loud already. Im waiting on a A2200hct 1600 watt audiobahn amp. If anyone has heard how 2 of these subs sound in a slot port box please leave a review.

Model Reviewed: Audiobahn 1200q

Strength:

Extremely powerful Handles all 700 watts RMS, and then some. Relatively small box needed if it's sealed Very durable. I didn't even break these in before I put 800w RMS to them and they didn't blow. Priced cheap if you look around.

Weakness:

Sloppy bass at medium volumes. Pretty much requires a ported box if you want seriously loud bass. No SQ at all.

These subs are made for bass, but nothing else. They will shake the hell out of your car, but the sound quality is terrible. 50 square feet of dynamat in the truck of my 1995 Chevy Beretta did nothing to stop the rattles. That's how hard these things hit. I blew my Rockford amp so I got a cheap Legacy amp for now. It only puts out 75w RMS and this sub still hits hard enough to rattle everything in my car.

Strength:

The subs will rock the piss out of you car if you hook them up right. They are very very picky when it comes to a box (think someone said that already) but when you get it right you won't be dissapointed. Chrome looks good with blue neon's and a clear box, a big double/triple take box setup.

Weakness:

They require a perfect box to get the midbass and higher freq. just right. But nothing to hard to figure out. They do take a little more power than i would like but i have a optima deep cycle battery and a stinger 250amp isolater, and i get no dimming no matter how hard i push these subs. not a true SPL sub, more for bass heads who want good clean sound as well.

I got 2 of these for 200$ shipped. I have them in a 1.25cubic foot box made out of 3/4 inch plexiglass sealed box. I am running a lanzar D2000M rack mount sub amp to them. Now the subs used to have a audiobahn 2000watt mono block amp, and these subs hit really hard. I fried the amp and bought this lanzar, and it shocked me, i bought the amp untill i get the audiobahn repaird, but no way will i change it around. This amp and these subs hit Fuc*ing hard in my Crx. The box helped out a lot as well because a buddy of mine has the same subs in a MDF box and we put it in my car with the amp and it didn't hit nearly as hard.

Strength:

these subs have great spl, an excellant price and decent sound quality

Weakness:

sound quility. they are power hungry. and they ratteled everything in my car...even after i spent $700 in dynomat

I have two 1200q's in a sealed box running a kenwood 600 wat amp to each of them. so they are a little underpowered. the spl on these subs is outstanding. i am a little dissapointed with the higher freq. response. to me it seemed like they lacked in the mid bass freq. range, but i have noticed that these subs are really picky about the box that they are in. i built 4 boxes until i found one that really brought the best in them. the spl on the subs is great. they are extremly rugged and will stand up to hours of extremly loud operation. the sound quality is no as good as the jl, image dynamics or many of the other high end subs. however for the money they are the best deal around. i have put these up against the alpine type r's and the audiobahns blew them away. all told i love audiobahn and these are some of the best damn woofers i have heard

can turn it up loud enough it hurts my chest and throat feels like it closes up. Been trying to blow them and haven't had any luck yet.

Weakness:

None, little distortion on SQ, but I have the box tuned for SPL.

Running 2 at 1 Ohm in a 4 cube box with 1000 watts, did a cut through on a ford ranger, hit a 154, these things pound, very impressed. Building a plexi box, so magnet can be seen from outside.

Strength:

They hit the high end base frickin lovely and the lows not so bad, and can take a lot of power!

Weakness:

They tend to distort when you get into the low 20s at a high wattage and high volume!

Well I've owned two kicker 15 inch L7's two twelve inch soundstream spl subs, 2 twelve inch rockford punches, some generic subs and now 4 yes four twelve inch 1200q and yes I had a nice set up four four of them in my two door jimmy which I was going to make into a mock typhoon anyways I had a DA2200HC digital audio amp pushing all four subs at 1100 watts by 2 at a 1ohm load and they hit I ran a seperate eq. They hit real hard but didn't hit lows quite how I would like too it got a little distorted when I turned the volume up but other wise it's a pretty good sub for $89 dollars a sub I would by them again. But one thing I did notice is I had owned a pair of the older audiobahn 1500 series subs and they were better made and hit harder then the subs they make now.

Hit hard, can be heard from a ways away

Weakness:

SQ garbage.

These subs hit low and hard, but be careful with how much power you put to them. The "700 watts RMS" is more like max power. I had two of these subs be pushed by Audiobahns A1300HCQ amp at 50%, pushing about 400 watts RMS into each sub, in an enclosure of about 1.2 each, this amp blew these subs apart in about 2 months, but they did sound reall good.
