Strength:
Price($125 each)--when they were first introduced.
Weakness:
decent SQ 2 AW1200 in a sealed 1.25 cu ft box apiece, being fed 600w+ of clean power(300w to each sub), will shake your vehicle. Not only is it loud, but it sounds pretty good as well(plenty of low output). However, it tends to sound 'boomy' as the volume increases. But for price, who cares? It easily defeats any subwoofer in its price range. Definitely a budget SPL subwoofer. Novice dB dragsters will love this sub! Similar Products Used: HE2, Avalon LEs. AWs are alot louder. LEs suck--blow up easily and very POOR customer support. Been over a year and am still waiting for repair/replacements. Avalon Soundworks is ONE BIG JOKE! Stay away from their products, waste of time and money!!! |

This woofer will blow you away. SPLs like you wouldn't believe, and awesome SQ to match.
Weakness:
This this thing has mad excursion (not a bad thing), so be careful where you place this, a grill to protect it would be a good idea. If the woofer were to strike an object while moving, it would certainly make a noticable dent that won't come out, and would most likely affect SQ. This subwoofer is in a league of it's own. In most other woofers, in order to achieve SQ you would be sacraficing SPL, and vice versa. Not in this case. This thing will make your head go numb. I have one of these bridged to 3 ohm powered by an Audiobahn A2800E (560X1 @ 4ohm, most likely 620 or so @ 3 ohm RMS), and this thing @#@#^# pounds. You MUST put this in a small sealed box. The reason for this is that the air pressure inside the sealed box, keeps this woofer's voice coil from slamming into the back of it's magnet. If you don't put this in a sealed box, don't expect anywhere near the 1000w rating, more like 400-500. And it won't hit as hard with only 400-500 watts. If you put this in a 0.7 - 1.2 cubic foot sealed box, you can expect to have the full 1000 rms without blowing this puppy. My box is a 1.0, and this thing goes nuts. Excursion must be close to two inches. Unbelievable SPL for one twelve and SQ to match. Go buy this thing you won't regret it. This things pound like other companies 15's and im only puttin about 230watts apiece because of tha shrimpy 10guage power supply runnin 2 it. They even have great sq comin all tha way from tha back of a Suburbon...aiming back. These subs are not just good 4 tha price but good as a sub, it's tha best i've ever heard!
Weakness:
ummm...nothin @ all! I think i've said enough, it's a great 50/50 sub and sounds great. Tha deep bass it puts out wasnt expected it's great wit Jazz and Rap. Similar Products Used: I've used tha 10" Rockford XLC and tha 10" PolkdX, and tha tha AW1200 still has MORE sq and spl, it has a great combination of sound, were else can u get a sub that hits this deep wit clerity? I've also heard tha older Orion XTR's and i loved them until Audiobahn came out. |
