AWP212
Strength:
I quads the best around here and can hit the DEEP bass, the best for trucks with almost no air space
Weakness:
not that much to stay here I paid 260 for the pair and that was with a nice discount. Yes, I would recomand this speaker. I would really recommend it to a truck or small compact car because of how little air space you need (you only need 0.7 cubic feet min. and 1.5 cubic feet max.)The speaker has a 88.9 db rating per speaker and I have two so I have hit in numbers of 120+ and i mean+. So any one out there needs and great speaker with great sound and not a lot of $$$$ buy these speaker AWP212 (piston cone 450 watts). Strength:
Awesome power, DEEP bass, a lot of movement
Weakness:
not much I had a 1200 in a slot port box, a big one in a grand cherokee, with a crunch v4004 bridged 350 RMS to each coil, loudest bass ive ever heard for 1 12, and crappy fosgate or JL would have blown already, but this its to hard to sit in the car for more than a minute. ALSO i have 2 AW-1200's for sale!!! i am upgrading my system and i need to sell these spare subs, i am looking for 150 for two AW-1200's plus shipping. EMAIL asap if interested! AWC12D
Strength:
handles tons of power, CHROMED, very deep response
Weakness:
very deep response Paid a whole $85 total w/shipping for the AWC12D which is the chromed 60 oz. DVC. Very similar specs in terms of response when compared to the AW 1200. It does require at least a 0.7 cu ft box and I'm runing it in a 1.3+ cu ft cavity. Very deep response specifically in the 40 hz area. Best subwoofer I've ever seen for $85, it rivals the JL12W3's and 12W6's for half the price. Highly recommend it but be aware that the magnet is huge and the basket is stamped with a chrome plating. The terminals on it are also a push type that simulate the look of banana plugs. Similar Products Used: JL12W1, Bazooka 6, kicker substation8 |

2000 ALUM-12
Strength:
Rigid Cone, Huge throw and monster SPL
Weakness:
Damn heavy -> had to double-plate the speaker plate (not really a weakness though) I've built hundreds of custom sub cabinets, and have seen many great speakers like Volcano, Ground Zero, but the Audiobahn rocked. Built a custom home theater cabinet for a customer with a 1000 watt PA amp bridged to a single ALUM-12, and the thing just hammered. It was responsive down to 15 HZ (As low as the Dolby test DVD goes), and handled the power fine. Similar Products Used: A lot of large-surrounds out there (Kove,GZ), but few with Aluminum cones |

Audiobahn AW1805
Strength:
Very loud, very clear, very deep, looks good, very small box required.
Weakness:
none I got this 18 for around $440. I built my own 2.6 cu.ft. box so that only costed me $13. When I first put it in it was loud, and clean but had no ultra deep bass. It was probably because I didn`t use polyfill or something. It was on a power acoustik fire and ice 1600 watt amp. It hit harder than hell for about 2.5 hours, and blew (my fault). It took me about a week to fix it back like new (the former pulled off the cone, and ripped one of the input leads off) but once it was going again I built a 3.6 cu.ft. box, and kept it on 400 watts so it wouldn`t possibly blow. The new bigger box actually hit harder on only 400 watts! Overall I would say that this sub is as loud as 4 jl 15 w6`s when it is on only 400 watts, about 3 times deeper than one, and about twice as clear as a pioneer premier 10. If you ever get this sub don`t over power it. I would recommend using a 3.6 cu.ft. sealed box with it on 700-850 watts. By the way if you blow any of these 18`s, or any other decent - upper quality sub or amplifier, and don`t know what to do e-mail me at brandon@audiosalvage.com, I`ll buy it. Similar Products Used: (Nothing like it) Jl 15w6`s, 15w1`s, 12w4, 10w1, pioneer premier 10..... |
