I work in the mobile audio industry (Magnolia Hi-Fi) & these are some of the best built subs on the market today. I've never had a problem in the 1 1/2 years I've owned them. Reading over some of the reviews submitted is rather entertaining. People blow these subs up because they don't understand the concept of distortion & that's what damages the speaker. The build quality & materials used are so much better than your JL Audio & Rockford Fosgate it's amazing why people would spend approximately the same amount of money on a JL Audio that has a stamped steel frame & foam surround! Talk about a profit margin for JL! Don't get me wrong; JL & Fosgate build some good products but for the same price would you rather have a Toyota or a Lexus? Hmmm...I chose the Lexus. The Boston Pro Series of subs will give you sound quality & if you wanna crush your skull in with SPL it will readily take on the task. All you gotta do is follow directions. You can have the best subs in the world but 9 times outta 10 if you have a cheap amp it's not gonna sound that great. Your system is only as good as your weakest link.

Strength:

Delivers in the SQ and SPL department

Weakness:

Too many people that enter my car have permanent grins on their faces... i can't stop them from grinning... it's getting rather annoying... please stop already.

Skimming through the other ratings that people have given this sub so far is rather amusing. On one hand, you've got the audiophilics who are ranting and raving about the "individiual bass strings" and the musicality of the sub. On the other hand, you've got your retards who #1)Can't follow box building directions (if you don't know how to build a box, get one professionaly made!), and #2)they're probably running a cheap amp to power this thing. Even though your Jensen says it puts out a million watts, a 100 watt Xtant will outperform any Jensen (or similarily cheap brand) any day! I've got a RF bd1000a1 powering my 2 ohm 12.5LF proseries and that ONE sub can outpower, outperform, and outlast any sub at my university. The birth certificate on my amp says 1110 watts, and with the gain all the way up, the sub handles it with ease... of course my 99 accord is about to fall apart from the power. But if you just learn to follow directions and build a nice box (stuffing it with about 1.5 lbs of polyfil helps out a lot too), you're going to have one slammin system whether you're listening to Confidential or Mozart. True, it doesn't hit the low notes as well, but then again, most of you can't hear below 30hz anyway so it doesn't really matter. For head-numbing power that still delivers crisp and accurate sound, go for the Boston Proseries. Just don't be cheap and build a box out of cardboard and use a Jensen amp.
