Loud, loud, loud. Also sloppy as hell, hell, hell, I mean it's a bit rough. I do give 100% respect to the fact that it, along with the 15" stroker, hold damn near every record under the sun. Spent some time with a 15 Stroker D (and 800 watts) in my Z-car. Hated it. Everyone I know that doesn't mind a total absence of sound quality loved it. As for me, don't ask me to listen to one of these slow-ass monsters ever again. For everyone that likes their sound loud and on the retarded side (did I mention that they aren't the tightest things?), have fun - all your prayers have been answered.
The rating: zero enoyablility stars, four loud and dumb stars makes and average of two.

SQ at low power

I do not own this sub, and I would not want to anyway. Unless you have at least the rated power (1600 Watts RMS) and a really great box, this sub is going to sound horrible. If you play the sub below it's resonant frequency with a lot of power, the sub's surround will tear from over excursion. I have seen this sub from the rep, he brings us our shop supplies like butt connectors and twin lead, etc. The strokers will be redesigned when Cerwin Vega decides to spend the money to do that.

Strength:

Boneshaking pure SPL. sensitivity. voice coil is just damn bulletproof! One third-party test revealed a single 18" stroker! took 7000+WRMS in 1 minute before destroying the cone BUT the voice coil isn't even scratched! Boy do they slam.

Weakness:

"OLD" design, needs a facelift, needs a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE enclosure.
Oh yeah, expensive.

The Stroker is a serious SPL pusher.. very few drivers can hang with it, actually. Among them are DD Beast, Treo CZ, MTX RFL, Juggs, and Atomic thunder Super Extreme. Other than that, NONE.

Contrary to popular belief, The Stroker! can be made an SQ driver---if you know the box specs. It's all in the install. Now I finally had a chance to review one of these by myself---and I'm even UNDERpowering it with an MTX 1502 (300w on each channel) AND THEY STILL POUND. Next week, my Stroker! will be fed by a JBL 1200.1 amp.. gotta buy one of them hearing protections.
