Strength:

Unbelievable durability, tight bass, very acurate, damn nice.

Weakness:

Not quite as powerful as IDMAX, or Memphis SHP/LVS subwoofers, but not as expensive either.

Ive had two IDQ 15" in a custom ported box hooked up to one Memphis ST-1000 Class D amp for over a year now, not one thing has blown. This amp will eat any subs thrown at it, and tear down the competition. I had this amp hooked up to two, so called, "high quality" Kicker Comp VR15s, and they were blown in two days. These IDQs have lasted me over a year. Kicker can suck it, they are the 'Abrecrombie & Fitch' of the audio Society. If you want the best, you cannot go wrong with Memphis or Image Dynamics.

Value, SQ, requires small enclosure, enough SPL to hurt my ears (what more do you want?)

Weakness:

What?

I've heard nothing but fantastic things about these subs. Why, because they deserve it. I have 1, yes only 1, IDQ 12" (350 W RMS) in a 0.88 cubic foot sealed enclosure with both voice coils in parallel. I'm pushing it with an U.S. Acoustic class D mono amp, USX800 (800 W RMS). I'm only using one channel. I'm into sound quality with capability to hit low and hard. This thing sounds amazing in my club cab truck. I would put my system up to anything reasonable. I have it sitting 3 inches away from my seat and it feels like someone is punching me in the back. My rear-view mirror shakes...its very intense. I can crank my system with any music (modern rock, techno, and dance) and it sounds awesome. If you are looking for a sub that sounds perfect with more than enough SPL get one now. If you are an SPL freak then get 2 or more now. Whatever you do, get a 12". Nothing sounds better with a hit. Put this sub in a small enclosure and put the power to it for accurate yet deep bass.

The SQL...truly amazing! Very tight Cone. Subs can handle a lot of wattage.

Weakness:

These subs need LOTS AND LOTS of RMS wattage to produce good sound. Although rated for 450rms/900watts, I'd recommend at least 500-600rms. Remember, it's better to overpower a sub, than underpower one.

I'm powering 2 IDQ 15" subs with a bd1500 monoblock amp by Fosgate. (amp says 1500rms, actually puts out around 1900rms) I'm feeding each sub at least 500rms and JESUS CHRIST...THEY POUND! They can easily handle extra power. Crystal clear bass with a shocking amount of SPL. These subs rule.

Crystal Clear bass...Glass-cracking Thumping bass...EXCELLENT SQL!!! Dance, rap, hip-hop...They all sound great on these baby''s

Weakness:

THEY SHOULD BE LOUDER DAMMIT!!! I''m feeding them a perfect level of RMS...but I must admit that I regret sacrificing SPL for SQL...My 15" Rockford Fosgate HE series subs...Single voice coil (200rms/400watts) subs outperformed these image dynamics. Not as clear...but THE BASS was awesome....I only had those 2 rockfords hooked up on 1 alpine T-707. After getting 2 Alpine T-707''s on the 15" IDQ''s...I regret not going with a higher SPL woofer rather than an SQL based woofer. AVOID THESE IF YOU WANT TO BE HEARD FROM MILES AWAY....BY THEM IF YOU WANNA LISTEN TO MOZART WITH YOUR GRANNY!!!

I bought 2 15" IDQ Image Dynamics woofers and they''re in a custom sealed box...in my 190e mercedes 2.6 Each sub is powered by an Alpine T-707 v12 series amp. These subs are 450rms/900watts each (dual 4 ohm coils).

AWESOME SQ! good power handleing pretty loud for not being an spl sub

Weakness:

could be louder i guess?

Holy crap, these subs rule, i have 2 of them in a 1 cu. ft. per sub sealed enclosure. They are hooked up in parallel to a crossfire bmf 1000d so they are running at 1 ohm. They bounce my 96 jimmy like crazy, dust starts falling out of the ceiling, panels shake etc. People say these aren''t very loud, but believe me, for the price, and the sq you get with them they are loud enough to hurt your ears and make it so every strand of hair on my head shakes and i can feel each one, and my eyes blur. They are plenty loud. I recommend these subs! they are awesome they take all kinds of music great. Can''t beat the value of these. For the price i paid for these, i don''t know what better i could''ve got, they''re awesome but are definitely worth store price.

Makes it hard to sneak up on people and pisses off my mom.

I bought 2 IDQ12s, the box, and a RF800 off a friend for 500. At first i was a little ify, but it was well worth it, best i''ve ever herd. It made listening to music exciting again. My only disappointment is that i had to leave my car at home when i went off to school, but its always a joy to get back in my car everytime i go home.

Besides all the other idiots that have commented against the look of the sub(v1) I love the black look it seems so plain no one would expexct such a loud sound to come from such an ordinary sub. The bass is clean accurate and deep. Small enclosure size.

Weakness:

none, if u really dont like the sub because the colour of the cone maybe u shouldnt be an audiophile.Maybe u should try something like visual arts $!$$y

WOW, what can I say about this sub? I have been through alot of car audio systems b4 and I know this is the setup that I''ve been looking for. 1 12"IDQ D4 off the subwoofer channel on my zapco ag650. My amp is only turned up 1/4 gain and this things hits hard, it hits low and it hits every single note that is sent to it. It is so accurate and besides the volume(I only have 1) I dont think that I could ask for more. I got this shizz installed in my car yesterday and the guy who was installing my system said " that he wsn''t sure if the 1 12" would be lousd enough" So I said "what do you think that I should do?" So he tried to sell me 3 10" jl wo''s and it sounded like utter trash!!!!!! I couldn''t hit any low bass notes let alone hold a solid note JL AUDIO wo''s are weak!!!! IMAGE DYNAMICS are strong and I would never choose anything but! I plan on buying two idq v2 d2 since my amp can run 1ohm stereo loads off the subwoofer channel.

Loud Loud Loud, Accurate, can handle quite a bit of power.

Weakness:

I've heard that they blow easily but mine haven't and I don't think that they will. They could look better.

I bought two IDQ15dvc's about four months ago and I love them. I went from two 10" Boss pos's to these and there was a huge difference. I need a new amp to power these beasts. At the price I paid they are a great deal. But, never order from www.soundhabit.com I didn't get my subs for 3 months, and they don't list a phone number. These subs sound sooo good they reproduce bass so well and they are very loud. I'm just waiting for the IDMax's to ship. They will be mine...

Very Tight! Great SQ! Not an SPL sub but does get loud! Does well in every enclosure, built for a sealed but sound VERY loud in a ported. Very well built to perform well on all freq. levels.

Weakness:

Power Handling should have been around say 300 rms, but they can still take 300 max and sound great! I would stick to the recommend rms rating (250). The 12s can handle alot of power..They did great with my friend pushing 2 12s with 550x2@ 1Ohm from his DEI 1100D!

I paid around 100 bucks for ea new, I love these subs!I have made people regret buying their current subs. I have recommended them before and I will keep doing it. As to "tete" and "mark", who both gave this sub 1 star. You should try either adding power to these subs, checking your enclosure, or check if they are wired out of phase. Cause even if these subs did suck, there is no way they would sound like a cheap audiobahn sub or pyramid sub. Have someone install your subs in a different car and see if you hear a difference!!! (just a friendly tip) Cause you have some very good subs ...sitting in your house wasting away!

Strength:

For a 15 inch sub they hit quick, hard, and acurate. In a 1.5 ft3 box each they hit a 153 in a 1990 Dodge Daytona.

Weakness:

The tensle leads are to long and touch often which may cause them to burn apart if you have them a huge ported box. They heat up fast, but cool fast too.

I think that the subs are price well for just at $400 or a little above for a set. They are a sound quality sub, however, may be used for DB compotion as well with a 91.5 sensitivty rating. The specifications on the subs say they handle only around 400watts. When I decided to test these subs I bought a Mephis 16-ST1000D. The amp has a lot of power, however, has a high distortion at over 1% at 1 ohm. These subs were played for over 2 months at almost full volume constantly. They still hit hard and quick, and have yet to be broken in. I would recommend these subs to any one with an every day driver car that wants good sound qualty and a boom that lets every one know they are coming. These subs for the price impressed me and my friends with sound quality and SPL. i beleave that you will be impressed as well.
